I appreciate your choice. I almost carry the same things, same colors but with a little cheaper price. I'm also a very visual person. I like the touch, the memory behind a thing. I love being connected with them. I feel like all of them are so alive.
That's a clean edc. My EDC is iPad Pro, MB 149, rhodia dot pad, zilli wallet, hamilton watch, iphone 6s plus and 7, oakley juliet, stefano ricci bag and mini karlito charm, motorola s11, grado 225, cables, and some maison baluchon pouch.
been some time since your last video. was waiting for a new one! my EDC: mains: sunglasses (rayban), watch, bracelets, phone (huawei), headphones (sennheiser/AKG), slim wallet (vaultskin) tote/holdall bag: herschel, a 1L water bottle, an umbrella, jacket/cardigan (for when i need it because i tend to get cold in AC environments, even though i live in a hot country), other style stuff: a shoe horn, double sided tape, paper clips, hair wax, measuring tape, tide to go pen electronic stuff: power bank, power plug, cables, extra headphones, adapters etc others: medicines, hand sanitiser, cards, metal case ball point pens, a pair of small scissors and a penknife
So on your recommendation I picked up the Spyderco knife. While I don’t think I’ll be using it to spread peanut butter, I’m very impressed with the knife
I’ve got a pair of AO Pilots, love them. I’m also a minimalist wallet guy. I’ve got the Harrison Australia kangaroo leather wallet. Super thin and with only two pockets for cards it forces me to keep it to the essentials.
I'm nowhere near as stylish as you but one alternative to the card case I discovered by accident was using a key holder case with zip closure. I have one from Porsche Design and it's nice in being able to zip close all the cards and it's cool when paying, people look at you when they hear the zip open. Of course over the years, I ended up putting too many cards in and it started to resemble a mini version of Costanza's wallet until I started removing just the basics lol. BTW love the idea of that notebook, I have one just for travel as it's so much faster to look up info on a particular trip: airline info, hotel/Airbnb contacts, car/Turo info etc..
Great to watch. Relaxed and appealing presentation. It’s a lot of fun to be a man with excellent taste and able to seek out and have the things you really want. I can relate to all of the items shown here. The only thing I like but don’t yet own is a quality, handy pocket knife. My passion for watches, fountain pens and DE shaving razors have made me poorer but still happier at having such fine things in my possession.
This list is like a greatest hits of menswear. The goyard, the BMW keys, subtle sapphire/amex flex. Love it. In my opinion the only thing that's a little much is the pen, although I think you rock it well.
@frpilot Feel that. At my age (early 20s) it would be more ridiculous and even faux pas for me to have a dedicated "nice" pen of over $50. I don't see this changing with age either, nice pens may just be something that ended with the generation before me. I love my Muji pens though.
would like to recommend vintage B&L Ray-Ban aviator, custom made leather key holder with hook to hold on to pants belt buckle, victorinox swiss EDC, money clipper and a mag solitaire LED.
Brian, As usual I enjoyed the info. I also wanted to thank you for the tip on Arm & Hammer deodorant. I have used another brand for decades and always felt that it competed with the cologne that I was using, that is no longer the case. Thanks!
I have the full and mini Goyard billfold. Am currently carrying the mini, which I like because the wife wants me to bring home receipts so I need somewhere to put them. Nice VC BTW.
Nice EDC video! I need to check out the shop. Ive been carrying a blue leather card holder instead of a wallet for years. I also wear a neck knife usually under my shirt. Oh I ended up buying as small test bottle of Tom Ford perfume. In the bottle it smelled great but on me not so much. I dropped it on the tile floor in my kitchen, the glass vile broke and that smell has lasted forever in my house. That's strong stuff.
Great run through, I have always had Filofax and recently bought a vintage one 1980's, amazing to think its forty years old now !! Oh in the UK we're not allowed to carry knives xx
Your Smythson keychain is really nice. I liked it so mush that I bought one. The new ones are not the same at all. The plating flaked off the first time I added keys and there was no care at all in making those keychains. The leather is totally different and very thin, probably made in China. I’ll have to keep an eye out for a used one. 👍
Interesting to see you have Smythson key holder, as its quite a low profile brand. My main coat wallet is actually one of theirs, its beautifully crafted and smells gorgeous....mind you, it should do for the price !!
I admire your style, expensive but quality lasts and is a good investment. To those of us with modest incomes, save up. I personally would never set foot outside with my Montblancs but I have to with my Leica and I'm seriously considering the notebook.
Great video Brian as always! A beautiful pen, and of course that Vacheron is stunning! Though I must ask, do you have a separate money clip for your cash? I haven't been able to transition to a card wallet because I like to carry a little cash for just in cases.
My everyday carry starts with my S7 Ege, Yeah I know its 3 + year old model, but it still works and gets updates.. From there, I usually have a small flashlight in my pocket, particularly in the fall/winter, as it gets dark earlier. My knife of choice is my Kershaw, Its a 20.00 dollar knife from Walmart, Yeah I know its cheap, But the quality is good. That's why I got it. If I lose it, of have to lose it, I won't cry over a 20.00 knife, just get a new one. My wallet is literally 30 yrs old. I got before I was married 34 yrs ago. I don't have to carry it every day, only when I'm out and about, so it doesn't get the use it would normally. Theses days I usually carry a USB cord and a small wall wart for the phone, As I've often been caught without and my phone died. Ideally fountain pen, My Poliet Metropolitan, Again relatively cheap but good quality. A small Feild Notes type book rides in my back pocket, And my watch theses days is my Asus Zenwatch 2, again old, but still works.
@@hespokestyle Thanks. The idea is to balance quality and price. Yes, a nice Benchmade knife would be nice, but that's a 100.00 or more knife. Not something I want to lose. So I choose the Kershaw, good quality for the money, and readily available. .
He Spoke Style yeah! It’s part of your everyday and could just be an extension of your wallet explanation! Also, I peeked an Amex Platinum... good choice 👍😎
Great video! Quick question, why did you ended up buying the VC Traditionnelle ahead of the ALS Lange 1 which seems to be highest on your priority list. Curious on thought process / comparison. Thanks
Part of it was being close to the brand for a while. Last year I did a yearlong partnership with them. Honestly, I was also torn between buying a Lange 1 at the boutique or pre-owned. Part of me wants to do boutique, but with the pre-owned prices what they are, I feel like that wouldn't be the most economical move.
Backpack, sling-bag or? Also, what to do with pocket change (coins)? I have an old-school wallet with a zippered coin pocket, but the amount inside just seems to grow rather than get spent. lol
You mentioned that you liked Goyard because of their interesting history and that they do not advertise. It would be cool if you could do a video on exploring Goyard and other luxury brands which do not advertise. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the suggestion, Thomas. There's a great book you might check out called Deluxe: How Luxury Lost Its Luster. There are very few brands today like Goyard and Hermes.
I personally prefer the Victorinox Soldier 08 over any other pocket knife. I also like other multi tools like EDC cards and tactical pens, just in case.
Would love to purchase the notebook and paper refills. What's taking so long to restock? It's been a year already. Are you bringing it back this year? 2021? Thanks
We've restocked a few times already this year. And they sell out almost immediately. I would encourage you to put your name on the waitlist. When they do come in, I always blast it out to the waitlist first and then they pretty much disappear. As far as stock goes, you may have heard about this thing going on right now--global pandemic, I think it's called...? It's been difficult to put it mildly.
Hi Brian! I also have a Montblanc which I inherited from my grandmother. However, I don't like taking it with me outside the house in case I lose it. Where do you safely store your pen? Thanks!
Alexander Gysbrechts amazing! A few places. Either in inside suit pen pocket, in briefcase in pen holder spot, and believe it or not sometimes in my pants pocket 🤦🏻♂️
Brian, I enjoyed this video. Sadly, some people are going to make negative comments no matter what. Just out of curiosity, have you ever considered carrying a handkerchief as a part of your everyday carry? It has a history of being a gentlemanly and chivalrous (and usually inexpensive) accessory.
I actually have a similar sweater from Massimo Dutti that you are wearing in the video. I wanted to ask you how you combine it and for example what pants are best.
Wow, you've added the Vacheron to your collection? Great looking watch! I was kinda expecting the Datograph or the Nautilus to be your EDC hehe. Speaking of the Dato, have you done a styling video with it?
Hi! I think I remember you saying you work in the military, and I've got a question related to it. How has the military affected you style? Personally I believe the military has taught me how to layer clothes effectively, which also carried over to civilian clothing. It also cemented kind of the idea of dressing appropriately for the occasion.
@@hespokestyle Thank you for sending me the link but I went to the website to look prior to asking you for the price and all I saw was "sold out, join the waitlist," that's why I asked you in the comments. Thank you kindly.
Simplicity is elegance. I love how you make things from clothing to accessories look elegant but through a simplistic approach.
Ivory Bailey many thanks! Appreciate the comment, as always.
I love how everything you own is simple, yet sophisticated.
Tijo Joseph many thanks. I really appreciate that comment.
Your watches... every single time they are simply amazing.
Many thanks! The Traditionelle is a special watch.
Just ONE of them is a grail of mine, let alone a collection like that. Very nice watches.
The notebook is by far my favorite! The leather cover just brings out more of a vintage feel.
Funnychris0827 and it’s gets better with age!
Love the fact that most of the metals match and are gold. Only a gold key chain and this will be perfect
Haha! Yes!
I appreciate your choice. I almost carry the same things, same colors but with a little cheaper price. I'm also a very visual person. I like the touch, the memory behind a thing. I love being connected with them. I feel like all of them are so alive.
Simple but timelessly elegant. I carry a spyderco wave, mont blanc, randolph and also a goyard. Great choices. 👌
