Excellent show. I have a TOWA gauge and I love it, took all the guess work out of my bobbin tension. It is always good to have a reminder lesson about TNT.
I started quilting in the 1970 when I was a young woman. I did not know anyone who quilted and information was a little difficult to find. The first pieced quilt I made was a fully hand stitched Grandmothers Flower Garden (not EPP), lots of y seams.
Thank you very much Chris and Kelly. I've learned this before but never often enough to permanently inscribe it on my brain. From Reseve, NM have a great day, giving of your time and sharing all the useful information.
Thanks you for todays show. I love my TOWA. This gauge was a game changer for me. Also I appreciate the information on the ball point needles, I'm adding them to my shopping list.
Lots of great information. I’m a newbie at long arm quilting so the information about choosing thread colors was especially helpful. It seemed that you like So Fine thread. Could you share your most commonly used color numbers...the ones you used on the show?
Thank you for all that great and useful information!! Would you share the name of the quilt pattern and fabric collection you used on your quilt? It's gorgeous!
Thank you .the tutorial was very interesting and I've learnt a lot. Just wondering what Chris would recommend for a log cabin quilt with dark forest green on the dark side and creamy white/ light green prints on the light. I'm having trouble choosing.
Okay, so 170 Towa tension is looser, right? I was told that it should be around 250, so now, I'm thinking that is too tight? i usually check by both Towa and drop..Yikes, now I don't know what to do! This is a very good video..I'll probably watch it through again. I don't have Handiquilter...I have an older Tin Lizzie 18 LS..It's a work horse.
Can you please tell me how to get correct tension with multiple layers of applique which can have either heat & bond or wonder under or any other kind of fusible applique. I have a sweet 16 that I have endless tension issues when quilting these types of quilts. Thank you for his video it has helped me to understand how tension works and I am ordering a tension guide today.

Having problems with tension on my Moxie. Keeping my fingers crossed that what I've learned here helps!

Hello from West Michigan. Coming to you late!
Hi from South Dakota
Hello there! Thank you for watching. :)
Great info thank you! Is this gauge any good for a Sweet Sixteen bobbin?
Thank you for all that great and useful information!! Would you share the name of the quilt pattern and fabric collection you used on your quilt? It's gorgeous!
Can you use a TOWA with magnaglide prewounds? I seem to get inconsistent results with the TOWA when checking those.

Hi from UK
When using a spool on a longarm should the thread come off the top or the bottom of the spool?
Can you tell me please if I can use an embroidery thread in a cone on my quilting,
Trying to find help with thread fraying/shredding. It happens with rulers, as well with free motion going right to left.
Personally I changed to ball point needles and it has eliminated shredding on Omni for me.

I have found 2 types of TOWA guages L and M. Both on Superior website. How do I determine which one I should buy for my machine? I have a HQ sixteen.
Hi JoAnn - Handi Quilter machines use the M class bobbin.
Does changing the tension on the bobbin winder affect the bobbin case tension?
I'm curious about this as well.
No. Changing the tension on the bobbin winder just affects the tension of the thread going on to the bobbin.
Where do I purchase that Tele Gauge
Just search for Towa gauge and you'll find lots of options.
Why don’t you ever show informational videos for the Capri
We do videos on our stationary machines often. Here's one on the Capri: ruclips.net/video/sHiN8NPSrPE/видео.html
