I can get the transition close to being on plane, or a little under, but my downswing moves progressively away from the backswing line as I return to the ball. Is the objective in transition to get the downswing to track more or less exactly on the backswing line?

Hi David - thanks for the question. The objective is not to necessarily have the downswing line match exactly the backswing line. Rather, the idea with deWiz Transition is to help eliminate big curvature issues (hooks and slice) and allow players to hit the ball straighter, more consistently. The closer to on-plane you are, the more consistent you'll be in finding fairways and greens!

What backswing plane do you think Derek should aim for?

Markus hits on this in the video... Derek currently has a bit of a steep backswing plane at 80 degrees. For some players this isn't an issue, but with Derek's current transition value of > 2 inches, he'll probably want to try and and shallow out the plane to help make it easier to get that transition number closer to zero!
      Thanks for the question!

What does the distance to impact number mean?

Distance to Impact measures where the maximum hand speed occurs. Ideally, you want that to occur between 12-15 inches prior to impact of the ball!
