    A question the community should ask itself, is how much should the lore be stretched in order to accommodate the story? Yeah, with prior material that's been presented I'm surprised that every Marine there, aside from the deuteragonist, died. But, it obviously wouldn't be as compelling a story if, say, four of them lived and wandered around the city. There just wouldn't be as much connection with Sa'kan or with the Sister later on.

    • @collecter343
      @collecter343 10 месяцев назад +25

      In lore yeah it's surprising only one survived but that's how it is sometimes, all that training, conditioning, gear and implantations and sometimes your luck is just shit, hell look at the Lamenters. For every story we read about Space Marines getting through impossible situations, there's gonna be some Space Marines that got dealt a crap hand.

      The scene becomes a bit more jarring when you consider that half a dozen space marines are said to be enough to conquer a planet like current Earth, which makes this crash a ridiculous loss from a single shot. At least the surviving Salamander got the chance to live up to their martial reputation.

      A nightlord was mortally wounded and would've died from being tossed from the walls during the seige of Terra.

    The funny thing is that space marines basically do not care if they get blown out of the sky like that. Their armor and physical toughness at least will keep them alive in most situations. Them all dying shows two things:
    1) Bad writing;
    2) Low budget;

    • @insidious7329
      @insidious7329 10 месяцев назад +4

      You need to read the lore. They definitely do. One concluded he would likely die if he fell off the walls of the imperial palace. Another one was about to die for doing the same thing.
      All that weight of space marine armor is going to crush them in their armor if they abruptly stop like that too quickly.

    • @REgamesplayer
      @REgamesplayer 10 месяцев назад

      @@insidious7329 Read lore, which part exactly? In the lore, blowing up a transport vehicle do not kill terminators inside and they just claw their way out of the wreck.
      Physics do not work that way. It does not matter how much internal weight armor has. G forces will be the same. Space marine armor on the other hand prevents piercing trauma by shielding from falling on sharp objects. It also greatly mitigates blunt trauma as armor would spread force of impact a lot more evenly. Combine that with that space marines are not freefalling and being in a drop pod or thunderhawk, their freefall effect due to their mass is completely negated.

    • @insidious7329
      @insidious7329 10 месяцев назад +1

      @REgamesplayer You know that terminator Armor and Mark X armor the primaris wears ain't the same right ? That's like the entire point It's worn for lol.
      G force is the pressure you're feeling as gravity is acting on your body on earth. Not only is this a whole nother PLANET. But this really only applies to the forces experienced while they were flying in the Thunderhawk. It's what pliots, and astronauts experience, when transitioning through the atmosphere.
      And space marine armor isn't proof against anything. It's resistant to to it. Nor does it fully mitigate physical blows. Otherwise the melee weapons they always use against each other would be pointless because they'd be impervious to physical trauma you claim they should.
      You hit a marine with a power hammer that's gonna get you one dead marine same with a power sword, and a marine drops from on high enough they're gonna die.

    • @REgamesplayer
      @REgamesplayer 10 месяцев назад

      @@insidious7329 This is why I called different armor by a different name. I think that should be self evident that I know the difference.
      What is the point of your paragraph about G-force? You know that an ordinary human can survive G-forces from THE WHOLE PLANET?
      Yeah, it is pretty much proof against a lot of things. If you get a solid piece of metal, it will be proof against a lot of stuff. This is because metal is a lot denser than wood. Thus when it would try to penetrate with a sharp corner, that corner would get blunted and space marine would either stop moving, destroy that object which impacted or they both would get deflected. This is why it is unrealistic that a space marine is being impaled by the debris. No debris would have enough penetrative force from outside to penetrate plane's armor and then space marine's chestplate. Same thing is from within. There is simply no object resulting from collision with enough kinetic force to penetrate battle armor.
      You forget that this armor is rated against auto-cannon hits. It can withstand heavy bolters. It has protection against specialized armor piercing small caliber rounds. The fact that random objects can penetrate it is unrealistic.
      From where you got that example of power hammer? Nobody was talking about combat.

    • @insidious7329
      @insidious7329 10 месяцев назад +2

      @REgamesplayer Then why are you comparing terminator Armor surviving the destruction of a transport to Mark X as if it's the same thing ? Either you're insinuating it should because terminator armor is or your bringing up irrelevant information.
      And I'm explaining G forces because you misunderstand what G forces does and exactly why it is irrelevant.
      And no it isn't. That's a very vague and untrue statement. An Aluminum can isn't proof against a bending and deformation, neither is a paperclip or a spoon.
      You say it's proof against against something when it's clearly not. Read the lore because much of the blades bolter rounds, or anything else that kills plenty of space marines that you claim should be deflected or blunted is.
      You're completely wrong.A marine is less likely to survive the material penetrating the marines who aren't nowhere near as tough as the Thunderhawk smashing it together around them.
