Holy shit this looks incredible! I really hope you get this project completed, but please take as much time as you need with it. I can tell you put a lot of effort into this and I’m sure this series will just get better and better as it goes. Keep it up! Also, the name and paint scheme for this chapter is genuinely legendary. I love this so so much
I really appreciate this, thank you!
*Calm down fake comment. No it doesn't. It looks awful. There was no content. Just bad walking animations. This comment clearly comes from the childish developer of this downloaded asset garbage.*
God this reminded me how much I love the angry looking Mk7 armour, great work!
Thank you! 🙏
I always feel like they just look unamused. Like you just made a very bad joke. They're not really "mad" they're just, annoyed that you had to bring up something so stupid again.
I prefer the way the astartes armor looks
Mk7 was definitely the best. Hope GW returns to it as some point
The Mk 7 really captured humanity's, "I'm sickened by your audacity" mood towards the uncaring galaxy at large perfectly. Iconic in its own right
I hope GW doesn't take this away from us like they did with Astartes and SODAZ
SODAZ was the fault of rabid fanboys harassing them for being in talks with GW
They will.
@@Staccet bullsh.t, he got silenced by non disclosure from gw
@@juzojuzo1806 It is a well known fact since he himself posted in reddit about the harassment.

I would guess its 30K, at least the Land Raider looks like one. But yeah =D.
@@timiturret148Nah the Marines seem to be decked in Mark X power armour, although the helmets are closer to Mk VII and the neckguard seems a bit shallow. Definitely more recent than the Mk II - Mk IV you'd see around the Heresy era.
Land Raider is definitely an older pattern though. Considering they're opting an older pattern alongside modern Marines I'd wager its a Land Raider Proteus, which is the alleged granddaddy of Land Raiders from the Dark Age Of Technology with all kinds of gadgets and doodads that makes them highly coveted despite their rarity and age.
I'm not a Marine enthusiast though, I just absorb the info through osmosis as I steal other players jeans, so I might be wrong idk.
@@kronksstronkstonks6360 If you ask me...! And I know nobody is.
But it looks like they are using 1990s miniatures and models as their reference. So some old school Space Marine shenanigans.
friendly reminder: DO NOT accept any offers from GW. Talented people disappear there...
Hi can I ask who were these talented people you talk of im new to the animation of Warhammer
@@shanlernerbagsic338 "Astartes" would be an example for that (you can still find it on youtube, but not on the channel of the original creator). Absolutly amazing animations and sounddesign by (afaik) a solo artist, got massive hype and traction, if i remember correctly 4 years ago. It's really fucking hard after Astartes has set the bar so high to get out of it's shadows when it comes to fan content. There will be comparaisons in the comments in the future, it's a certainty.
But I'm sure, I BELIEVE after seeing just this first sequence, that you will make it your very own creation and people will praise it.
When are you doing female custodians or the twerking female orcs?
I'll be watching this project with an eagerness unknown since Astartes.

This doesn't come close to the level of presentation of Astartes 😂

True, but god dam astartes was on a whole other level
99/100. -1 point because I want to hear the weight in every step the Astartes take.
More vids please

Hard to do when the main walking scene in this they were walking on dirt in a open area... which wouldn't give off as much sound like off of a metal floor in a corridor.... like it was in Astartes... good thought though 100/100.
@@styxxanaxkolasi879 no theyre right, the main problem is the animation for walking was all canned to one walk cycle and felt jittery. it was good but it could be improved upon to show the weight of the armor with each step as they navigate the slightly rocky terrain
@@styxxanaxkolasi879 Ask yourself how much those suits weigh. It's futuristic metal capable of stopping projectiles and explosives with a power reactor on their backs. @@Depressedcatdaddy TBF M2 Animation's quality is in a different league. Only Astartes and videogame CGI was able to match the quality of official trailers, these are way behind but its nice to see fan animations still going on
I love that this feels so much like Astartes, but the effects give off a practical vibe like in OT Star Wars, or the first Terminator movie war scenes, making everything resemble their tabletop miniature versions, GW should honestly take notes
This is the vibe i like for Warhammer, the perfect blend between sci-fi and fantasy and not just the latter but in space
The only issue I can tell is the ground doesn't quake under their step 😂😂😂 this was amazing. Cannot wait to see the next part. Just phenomenal work.

Yep, it’s almost as if they’ve been the face of 40k for decades 😉 silly GW and their Primaris nonsense.
Mme personly I like both 😎
@@Nerd2301 What a ridiculous statement! Acceptance and compromise has NEVER been the Imperial way!
Bro's gonna end up in the GW sweatshop next to Syama Pedersen.
love y'all 40k animators, you guys keep Warhammer alive much better than GW. Hope you guys can get a considerable amount of yogurt
yorgt
I can recommend fage strawberry Greek yogurt - it’s the yogurt / mousse crossover you didn’t know you needed
Йогурт🥺
animators keep the hype around warhammer alive somewhat. Its still GW doing the heavy work even if some of it sucks (warhammer+ for example), new codexes and editions keep things up to date, hotfixes and balances keep things fair(ish), new books flesh out your beloved faction. Yes the pricing of GW sucks and how they deal with fan animations sucks even more (although one could argue that fan animations can run into copyright problems rather easily), but personally I like the quality GW offers compared to 3d printing or even forgeworld.
Enjoying this one before the GW legal team arrives. I really liked the thunderhawk cockpit, very convincing for something we dont really have official reference for. I think one thing that might be off about the walk animation is that there is no sound of footsteps.
There was that one scene in Pariah nexus where the thunderhawk is crashing, the cockpit interior is shown briefly, albeit on fire
I pray that you are not struck down by GW like so many others are. Don’t let them take the passion from our hobby.
Thank you for everything you’ve accomplished so far.
I think they kinda gave up on flagging people, not sure tho
@@jessekarimoen9858 After the backlash they got from the strike against Midwinter Minis, pretty sure they changed their approach. I've directly drawn their attention to some of my stop-motion projects, and so far no hostilities. I think the future is looking brighter!

Long story short - I like the 40K IP and lore, but not GW.
No amount of corporate funding can ever replace genuine passion when it comes to making a quality product. Baldur's Gate 3 was one if the largest examples of our time. This channel is a wonderful addition to that list.
I'll see you all when this hits a million views. Amazing work!
Can I ask you, are you able to monetize these videos, or does GW say no? I have long wanted to make a 40k film, loved 40k since the 90s, but I don't want to do it and get copyright slapped. Cheers mate.

@@skellyartzidations4524 true, haven't heard hide nor hair from him since
Этому парню это не грозит
@@skellyartzidations4524 To be fair, we have no idea what is the guy working on at the moment. It took him years to make Astartes video series. Maybe he is working on something feature length, we don't know. GW never went against people who were creating WH40K content in the broadest sense - there are tons of folks out there doing that still. They went specifically against those who were making money directly out of the IP, which is something every single company will do. Have they gone against Weshammer? Luetin? Boldemort? No. There is a line where using the IP is not allowed by law and GW was letting it happen for far longer than many other companies would.
I am not a lawyer and I won't pretend that I know IP laws of any particular country and how they work. But the fact that only SOME of the creators were hit while others didn't, continued to create and grew a lot, should tell you that there is a clear line somewhere that you should not cross when using the IP someone else has the right to.
I love these space marine helmets, they look so pissed off all the time. Fantastic visuals and animation by the way! Reminded me of Astarte’s

Everything about this is perfect, the only thing I'd recommend is perhaps getting a better walk cycle since not only do I feel the cycle doesn't fit a Space Marine but also the FPS isn't matched too well with the overall quality. Still man, super excited to see this blow up and suceed!
Amazing work! Congrats to everyone who's working on this fantastic project. Keep up the good work and make the Emperor proud!
This give good old WH 40K Fan Animation Vibes.
AND I LOVE IT
I like it. I would have liked to see some dirt, stones, mud.. Whatever in the threads of the Land Raider when it was driving. Anything to break the laboratory like cleanliness. But this video was gorgeous.
Gorgeous!!! And so good to see the Mk. 7 helmets, I'll never not love the look. Excited to see more!
Im excited to see what happens next. The atmosphere is pretty dang good in this. Has a terminator feel, but where it's the part everyone wants to see, which is the machine war vs. humans, but you never get.
The walking carries no weight, not even the weight of responsibility
Okay, so _that's_ what was bothering me! While Space Marines are supposed to be able to move almost as nimbly as if they didn't have any armour at all, them and their armour are one heavy package! Each step should have some oomph to it! Still gotta admit that the rest of the vibes are cool, tho, and I, for one, will be following this one's project, and see how they improve over time.
the walking animation looks off to and you are correct about the walking to
It unironically looks like an attempt to copy Astartes, the armor is mk.7 but their red shoulder looks like an older mk so it looks so odd, the chapter symbol looks oddly similar to The Retributors from Astartes, and they are using a spartan in 40k when most of those are gone or replaced with a regular land raider. I know 40k fans are fast to jump on anything animated related and I know its like one guy making this but do we really need yet another space marine fights agasint Xeno/heretic cartoon for the 100th time? 40k has other races you know....(and no Imperial Guard animations dont count)
Yeah, noticed that too. Still, incredible first glimpse of something that has the potential to be great. Hopefully we get to experience it.

Amazing work on the machinery environment and aircraft. But i feel like the ground vehicles and walking animations could use some work.
Not sure what i think of the choice of materials on the marine's armor too.
It's already hard to have a convincing standard person walking but it's especially hard to animate a walking person in a superheavy armour ... but i agree the marines need much more "weight" in their walking circle, they almost move (float) like featherweights
@@flonkplonk1649 Space Marines SHOULD walk effortlessly but the weight of their armor should still be visible in some way. As it stands, I agree with you fully. They look like they are basically floating.

Also the distinctive feature common to many patterns of Land Raider is the consecrated 'aquila' track links. The twelve consecutive track links standing for the twelve High Lords of the Imperium and the thirteenth bears the double-headed eagle symbol, that represents the Emperor himself. So during the campaigns of the Space Marines a planet's surface is repeatedly stamped with the authority of the Emperor as if he himself marched there. FOR THE EMPEROR!!!
Yes, these are not “Astartes”, their movements are more plasticine, and there is no signature clang of armor when moving, but it’s still cool, let’s not be too demanding. "Astartes" simply raised the bar so much that now everything that is a little worse than them seems like a "Lego movie." I’ll just remind you that before this 3D animation at 40k looked like a damn cartoon, God forgive me, the film “Ultramarines”. "Astartes" and "Hammer and Bolter" are still two phenomena, and not a universal standard
the only issue I had is the close up is so similiar to astartes I almost cringed, like bro take inspiration from it but try and be original, even just simply changing the armour colour would've made it look more original
But... the armor color *is* different. The Retributors color is a uniform silver-blue, while these guys are charcoal with a red pauldron.
This is incredible. The armour looks sick. Good job!
This is the stealthiest deployment of Space Marines I've ever seen lmao love it
The raven guard: …..the fuck man
Great wide shots and details of everything, rare to see a hawk transport a land raider and much kudos to the artist! Im expecting much more from this fantastic start
And yes we know the movement of marines is floaty (as we cant help comparing to 'ASTARTES') but the artist will learn and I bet its a real 'b**th' to make it look realistic via CG!
Great animation! My favorite detail is that you added landinglights on the thunderhawk 🤘
Man I really miss those helmets
Marines severely needed ambient stomps and even louder stomps on close-ups. They seem too light

Space Marines as they were intended, and without stupid things fluttering in the wind. Looks like the Space Marines I know.
This is the best space marine animations i have seen since the Astartes fan animations stopped.
I’ve noticed there’s a recent trend of ‘modernizing’ the aesthetic or equipment of the Imperium in fanworks. A lot of recent depictions fall more in line with the crispness of ALIEN or real equipment, and it’s kind of interesting how they mix it with the gothic architecture of ships and cities. I’ve seen the same in an ARMA machinima and Astartes. It’s a sort of more grounded take that still had a distinct Imperial touch to it, and I like it.
I like the almost retro aesthetic, like the bassy synths and the slightly screen tearing on the monitors and stuff
The marines look like the pre-Mortarion Death Guard, the Dusk Raiders. Pretty cool.
Thanks for keeping fan animations alive! Absolutely love the scenery, all the machine glows and lightning . Beautifully done
Absolutely superb in everyway, truly brilliant work. We need to find a way of guarding this man from GW's predatory legal department. Perhaps an email campaign ready to fire off if a cease and desist letter is sent this mans way. Either way splendidly done and I'm extremely excited to see more.
