Identity change is possible mate, and you can do it. I spent 35 years in addiction, crime, and complete lies. I know and have worked for the last 15 years helping others, now work for local government, it can be done. I know my ego now and I know where the line is in my head I should never cross. Training helps loads, daily yes, some people need routine and self care. Complacency is the killer and focusing on other and not yourself. I go out each day with a reason and a purpose my purpose. To stop anxiety I always be honest even if it means I I’m wrong, to be a better man I must be a better person. Yes life can be dark, battered as a child, prison, drugs, violence, bullied, makes you into a person that can be very very dangerous but it always makes you a very experienced person with a lot of knowledge, it’s now your choice
find a place to live that makes you feel calm helps - maybe in the country, somewhere remote. i knew the only way i would beat addiction was to rphysically remove myself from the place and people and the rest would take care of itself in time. not sure what to make of danny as he speaks well about a lot of the dramas that affect fellas but seems to divide people
We do recover a day at a time Danny. Keep coming back. The rooms are always open.

I think the majority of people that have back slapped Christie and give it the well done Danny your on the right path, are also very questionable people in themselves.
I personally found this interview quite disturbing. He continually kept contradicting himself, mentioned on several occasions his lust for violence and in general gave off the personality of someone who isn't safe to be on the streets.
There wasn't one incline of reformation in the interview. His Dublin tale was one of disgust.
Ripping off other people with his cocaine transaction and bragging about it only underpins my opinion of him.
He's a vile so called human being who's jailed bound within the next 3 to 5 years.

Christie openly admitted that his first course of action, his initial instincts were to lie, cheat, and defraud; 14:29 Christie did not possess the courage to buy his own drugs, he instead tried to swindle them using others to facilitate his own objectives. The £50 swindle highlights a very disingenuous nature, unrelated to the particular addiction and symptomatic to that of a money orientated con artist.
The point I'm emphasising is that society ignores these traits, almost encouraging them. He wasn't pulled up on this behaviour, it was dismissed as humorous. Nobody in the comments section addresses it either and instead deliver unmerited compliments. It's comparable to raising a child without consequence, creating a monster. The narcissistic mind, in this case Christie's, gains justification from the ignorance of others.
It's readily apparent that this man is untrustworthy and self-serving, but until society realises the implications of promoting bad behaviour, then the nefarious behaviour will become increasingly normalised.
The emphasis remains on us to uphold the truth.

It's nothing to me and of no surprise that these people can't see such blatant behaviour. Christie is there hero, someone with whom the may share some common ground with. Someone they can relate to.
As I've previously stated I found the whole interview quite disturbing and as you've rightly pointed out the fact he wasn't pulled up about his Dublin dealings and was dismissed as humourous also says plenty about the two individuals conducting the interview.
Personally I was stunned by the whole thing. He can't be trusted in any capacity in life. He'll steal from you, lie to you and if it gets him a leg up in life he'll drop you like a stone.
Doesn't take a genius to see that. Unfortunately his supporters are lacking in the morality department and are completely devoid of any capacity to see things any differently.

You have to remember a learnt behaviour over many years won't disappear over night. You have learn new behaviours and it takes at least half the time the old behaviour had been learnt.
I can relate to the addiction side danny, that's why I having touched a drink in 4 year, I know if I do it will just be like a time bomb going of it will be coke bender, it's an addictive personality, keep putting your addictive personality into things that are good for you an your family. 👍
You will relapse over an over once you relapse it happens again and again addiction is so hard depending what you take there's never a last time any trigger can set it off
Relapse is not nor doesn't have to be part if everyone's story. No offence but I disagree that once u relapse u continue to. In my experience its not the case always
my life's been the total opposite , loving mother and father who game me everything no trauma at all and i feared my dad and he didn't take shit either , I was a shy lad in school not many girlfriends well into sports and played at a high level , Left school got into clubbing and ecstacy and it gave me confidence with the women ect and then I realised i liked drugs , My best mates sisters husband was a heroin dealer and we use to go down and chill with them all and me being naive and liking drugs thought I will have a try at that , 27yrs later and i am still using daily crack and heroin , I so want to stop cos I don't even get a hit from it no more and it hasn't been like that for 10yrs and the quality will never ever recover in my eyes but it's that I feel that keeps addicted thinking I will get a hit off it soon but never do, Its a total waste of money and i need to get that in my head and stop for good , I am 46 this year and i always said I don't want to be scoring and using drugs at 50 , Things need to change soon as I have had enough and i am tired of this whole addiction malarkey!! awesome podcast guys i can relate to it whole heartedly , keep up the great content awesome episode

@@debbie2490 thanks for the kind words in those 27yrs I have had bouts of abstinence, Don't get me wrong when it was strong I loved it but now it's all rubbish and hasn't really been the same since we went to war with Afghanistan, I thought when all troops came home and the Taliban got back into power it would go back to how it once was but I need to get it into my thick head it's never gonna get better and is a total waste of money , I don't even get anything off it no more , I've had 6 dvts from groin IV and the last time sepsis also after a miss that nearly killed me , There's one thing good I suppose I only smoke now as I can't get myself no more , I also got HepC but was lucky to get the new Maveret treatment at the time that got rid of it thank God, I just need to put this all to bed once and for all I don't want to be still using and scoring at 50 things need to change and soon I have totally had enough .
