    This is the problem with having a named “star” slowplaying their career through proper matchmaking. You can’t really do both. I don’t think anyone would have a problem calling him a potentially good fighter who can draw. But it’s this label of stardom. I say that bc let’s say he goes out and literally sparks Bobby in a round. You’ll see people just not liking him still but respecting atleast he can scrap. That’s what’s happening with Garry. I don’t personally see the issue with the guy but I get why ppl don’t like him. Regardless, ppl can’t say he can’t fight even with close wins. Ian doesn’t have a Jared Gordon situation on his hands. If I was matchmaker and my goal was to makes paddy a star ppl won’t reflect, have him fight Dober. Perfect benchmark. He will expose him or solidify him. Bobby fights hands down and is clever but reckless though so it’s a good fight for paddy to show out . Either that or Bobby WILL stop him, there’s no wat Bobby lets it be boring

While it's obvious since his pro career started right after the Civil rights movement, half of America was already over this racist bullshit, and the other half were so racist they wouldn't have watched his matches unless it was to hope to see him lose to a white person. True boxing fans know it's really due to how quick witted he was in the build ups and how he got in people's heads so bad they would throw away any basics and just fight through emotions. Just to reiterate, you're completely wrong. LISTEN TO ME! Paddy has been in the UFC for 3 years. By the time Jon Jones was in the UFC for 3 years, he had become champion of the world. It took GSP 2 years to become champ. GSP and Jones were reasonably new to MMA. Paddy came in a seasoned fighter and he's nowhere near the top of his division. The UFC slow plays us fans now and we just take it. The UFC has become boxing, trying to pad stats and build artificial stars. I do miss the days when the best fought the best, when top fighters fought more than once a year and we could get a fresh fight, not just rematches all of the time. I could not care less about Paddy the Baddy right now.

    The joy of joys that is the best thing about mma is that it is all so inevitable. We get to see exactly what happens when Paddy either gets his arse handed to him by a Jim Miller or Bobby Green and we all laugh at how overhyped he was, or he does continue to win and eventually he ends up fighting the top guys.
    Either way, I’m 1000% confident it ends really badly for him….and I’m here for it. 😂

  • @The31st
    @The31st 19 дней назад

    He is in a strange place that yes, he's one of the best fighters on the planet but he's one of the worst best fighters on the planet. Even just being in the MMA means you're incredible but if you don't look like you're ever gonna win a title, no matter who the champ is then you're seen as worthless.
    For me, it's the difference between the words and the actions. He was hyped as the next McGregor and has talked mad shit while barely scraping by in every fight. Conor at least walked through ppl in the ways he said he would, poatan has shown up and done unbelievable things, while Paddy has struggled against some of the least threatening guys in the division.
    You can't talk like you're already the champ champ while getting dropped in your debut, edging close decisions, and not being able to beat a washed Tony more convincingly than Green.

    I cant see Paddy going 5 rounds. He needs to be well conditioned all year round like the top tier fighters are. Pereira gets straight back in the gym after a fight and paddy goes to Macdonald's. He also isn't fast enough in the striking department and doesn't move his head. He's going to get splattered
