Thanks for the tips and demonstration. The only thing I don’t like are the raw edges on the inside. I will either bind the seams or construct with the outside & lining separately so everything if professionally finished inside!
I just want to say this is a great video. You know the saying feed a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed for the rest of his life. Well you’ve done that for me. I was so scared of zippers before and now it’s so easy and I’m making so many different kinds of bags. You and Chelsi are great! Keep up the great work!😀
Such wisdom to make three of them before doing the tutorial. In addition, with your experience making bags in general, you’ve provided the best video on making this bag that I’ve seen. Much appreciated!
I LOVE your videos!! They’re so clear and easy to follow.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🩷🩷🩷🩷 I’ve been holding off making this pattern but you made easy. Thank you sooooo much 😃👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🩷🩷🩷 I’m so glad I found your channel.😁🩷
Thanks for the video and how to use up scraps. I hate raw edges inside a bag. It’s so easy to do it the other way too, and your bag will look so much more professional.
Sherri & Chelsi zipper pulls are a NEED!! How cute would the cheater hexi from Strawberry Lemonade or Dresden from Raspberry Summer be?! 😍 This video is so helpful & I can’t wait to make this pouch!
Sheeri....at first I thought 'another bag tutorial on RUclips? But I stayed until the end. I really like this one and you demonstrated it so well. OK, I have to go download the pattern ...thank you Sherri and thank you Moda
I loved your video on this bag. I so wished I would have seen this before I took a class on it. The applying the zipper on your video was so so much easier and the explanation and showing of how all zippers are not made the same way! I am going to make more of these bags! Thank you! I do wish there were more close up shots, but I just zoom in on the video. Thank you again for the great tutorial!!
I’ve seen this bag pattern circulating - yours are so cute! I love it when you do small projects like this. I make a lot of bags and I agree, foam interfacing and the #5 zippers are an improvement on the pattern. I would also bind the raw seams (I don’t like raw seams); a tiny bit more time but just gives it a more finished look, I think.
Good Morning Sherri and Billy, I really like these little bags, the size and how they’re constructed. They turn out so professional with of course, the beautiful fabrics. 💖 Have a wonderful weekend, 🥰 Chris
Sherri. Thanks so much for going thru the entire bag. I'm a beginner sewist (is that a word). Lol. Loved loved loved the tips and tricks that you explained in detail. Appreciate you. 🧵
Hey Sherri I really enjoyed the tutorial👏👏👏 I’ve been really wanting to make a purse as I’m kinda particular about the requirements😆 ya know if you don’t like it you won’t use it… I’ve been watching these little bags all over the place!!! Your tutorial was VERY helpful, Thank you ❤️😀
How appropriate! I’ve made one already and have 3 more ready to sew today! I agree that the byAnnies zippers are the best as they allow more room to encase the raw edges in the zipper.
A great tutorial. I referred back to it as I was making my first bag. Fun to have seen the different options using the mini charms and listen to your tips. So helpful! Thank you.
Never miss one of your tutorials Sherri! You really invest so much of your time and truly care about sharing tips and tricks with your followers. You want us to succeed at what we make and it shows. Thank you so very much. I am definitely going to make these as gifts.
I ordered the kit from Shabby Fabrics it makes 2 bags. I had never attempted to make a zippered bag. They turned out pretty good and now that I have the pattern I can make them in so many different fabrics. Yes the zipper that came with the kit was harder to sew and turn to top stitch but I took my time with them. The Nantucket Summer fabric and zipper pulls are so pretty.
I really enjoy all your tutorials. So a huge thank you for bringing them to us. I love the quilt you have in the background by the door. Do you have a tutorial on making it? And if so what is the name of it. Thanks again for posting such beautiful tutorials.
You have helped me with a great Christmas gift idea for family and friends 💕. Thank you for all that you, Chelsi, and Billy do also with The Quilting Life videos and podcast. You all never cease to bring a smile to my face and a chuckle to my day. Keep up the wonderful work!
Such a fun and pretty bag! Love all of them. Great tips too!!! I make a lot of bags and I never thought to sew the end seams from both sides. It makes sense as it will be double secure. Thanks for this tutorial. 💕🧵
Hi Sherri! Love these bags & the tutorial/tips. I love the tip about sewing the corners both from the top, then the bottom! I've zig-zagged some seams before, but never sewed both top & bottom. Great stabilizing tip 😊
Thank you sooo much Sherri for this awesome instructional video for this darling bag!! I made one earlier just using the pattern but your video is so clear and concise and I will be watching it over and over again when making my other bags for Christmas gifts!! Thank you again!!!
Thank you for a super video! Love Annie's zips, and I used an overlock stitch to finish the ends. If you have a simpler way to get those zip tabs on the tape please share!
Gorgeous! And , Sherri, I have gone to your blog consistently for the Moda Blockheads challenge. Your advice and tips are excellent , love your blocks and your blog is so well laid out!
I am a fairly new subscriber. You do such an excellent job with your explanations of each step! Looking forward to watching more. I have already put to use your tip about marking the length of the border, but not cutting there until after sewing. I think that was table runner video. Thanks for all you share :)
Thank you for the tutorial. I watch your podcast and enjoy them but would love to see more tutorials also. Do you think I can overlock edges instead of zigzag?
Thank you for great tutorial and the tips, very helpful. Is this your pattern for the patchwork bag on the door handle in the video? I didn’t see it in your Etsy shop, would love to make that also.
I would so so so LOVE closeups on your items. Really cannot see, for example, differences in the zippers. Thank you.
Thanks for the tips and demonstration. The only thing I don’t like are the raw edges on the inside. I will either bind the seams or construct with the outside & lining separately so everything if professionally finished inside!
My thoughts exactly!

I use soft and stable in mine too. Yours turned out great!

Love this tutorial!❤
Is there a tutorial on how to sew the squares together and then on to the soft and stable?
What an excellent video. I made a bag right along with you and it turned out fabulous!

Thanks so much for the tutorial! Really like your bags and can't wait to make some myself. Great information and, by the way, your Blog!
Made my first zippered bag - yay! I'm not sure I could have done it without your helpful video! So fun and easy. I have plans to make several more.
I really enjoy all your tutorials. So a huge thank you for bringing them to us. I love the quilt you have in the background by the door. Do you have a tutorial on making it? And if so what is the name of it. Thanks again for posting such beautiful tutorials.

Thank you for a great pouch tutorial! Great tips and I love using the Soft and Stable also!
Sherri, I'm new to your channel and have made 10 pouches 👝 from various sources. Your's is very detailed and I've learned some great tips. 😊 TY
These bags are great. Thank you for sharing your tips.

Great video. How far apart are your stitching lines on the white fabric?
This is so cute! Thank you or bringing this to us❤
Great project to practice some FMQ!
So cute. I will make one today. I also love byannie products. I will use my Emma charm pack.
Great gift ideas, thanks for sharing 👍❤️😊
Excellent video!
Love it I will get the PDF you are a great teacher.
thank you i loved this!
Great tips, Sherri! Thank you. :-D
Very nice tutorial! Thank you!
Thank you for your tutorials! I would like to see more tutorials rather than chat videos!
Thank you so much!
Thank you for the tutorial. I watch your podcast and enjoy them but would love to see more tutorials also.
Do you think I can overlock edges instead of zigzag?
Ruth S: I was wondering the same thing, but decided that the edges were so short that it wouldn’t really be worth the time and bother to serge them.
Your sewing machine might have an overlock stitch on it that works well too. That is what I use with bag seams.
Lovely bag thank you💐
The small piece of the zipper can be used to make tabs!
Thank you for great tutorial and the tips, very helpful. Is this your pattern for the patchwork bag on the door handle in the video? I didn’t see it in your Etsy shop, would love to make that also.
What brand are your scissors they are really good ones
I love the Soft & Stable, but my machine does not like too much thickness though
Sherri did you finally get a new sewing machine? If so what brand & model please!
Where do you buy Annie zippers? I can only find them online by the yard.
I wish you had more close up shots. Thank you for finally. I have it on my tv but I see so much of the table instead of details.🙄
What is the bag on your door? I would like that pattern or know how you made it
Very nice project, but I couldn't find the free pattern 😞
Can you make it bigger
