In Ed.. Kyo behind the bamboo represents his confinement in the future but he is reaching towards the sunlight......In the end in front of sunflowers Toru also reaching for someone ❤
Seeing Yuki forming his own social circle is wonderful. At the beginning of the anime, Yuki always seems a little out of place next to Tohru and the rest of the girls, unlike Kyo who develops his own dynamic with Hana and especially with Uotani. Now Yuki really seems to have a place where he doesn't have to look like a prince around the girls and can “fight” with others without all the emotional weight that involves the Somas.
It's interesting that Kakeru is like the embodiment of Ayame and Kyo, the two ppl Yuki have struggles interacting with so he's actually learning how to handle them through Kakeru. Also, i actually think the nickname is like a representation that you "belong" to a group or when you're like starting to build some close connections and we see that with Kyo having Kyon-kyon as a nickname, so i'm glad that Yuki got his own too.
Tohru's father is a Honda, the son of her grandfather. Not a Soma. And her mom clearly wasn't a Soma either. Tohru has a fear that saying you want to see someone who is dead means you want to die to be with them or it will cause you to die. Her mother must have said that at some point after Katsuya died. And even if Kyoko died years later, there is still a connection in Tohru's head. She was terrified her mom was going to leave her to go be with Katsuya. She doesn't want her grandfather to die, so this scared her, to think he is drawn to or longing for death as a way of reuiniting with those who are gone. Yuki needs to focus on himself before he can be strong enough to help others the way he wants to - I think that is the lesson he needs to learn. Also, that other people who seem strong to him are only putting up a front and can feel just as defeated or pathetic inside as he does. Fake it 'til you make it, Yuki. He does help others anyway, clearly, but he can't see that about himself any more than Tohru does about herself.
merry christmas everyone!! i hope you have a lovely day!
loved these two episodes 😭

yuki is genuinely one of my fav characters EVER. his entire arc is so good and somehow always gives me strength to go out of my own comfort zone
same here 🙂↕️💟
yuki' character development is such a litany against doomerism for me ❤
The visuals with this ED are the best. I use them as wallpapers.
Same!!!

I'm very late!! But these OP and ED are my favs from Fruits Basket. Happy holidays, Alana!
So if you look at Kyo in the ending he’s surrounded by tall bamboo sticks that’s supposed to represent his confinement
Merry Christmas Alana
