But the hardest thing is...
Sitting with ur friends but everybody is busy with their phones. Most frustrated thing ever!!😑😰😨
Why are they your friends then
@@eeean1025 I can't judge them just only this issue right!!
@July Summer U r right mam.But all of them do not pay an attention as much as we do.
That's so true. It compels me to use the phone even if I don't feel the need for that.
@@lostsoul1204 so true!I also agree
I quit social media and realized how lonely I actually am. Hopefully eventually I can cultivate a real life with real people to meet with off social media.
Simple_ Life THIS
Same here... Let’s sit in our loneliness and allow only real connections in our lives. It won’t be easy & it’ll be a lonely road, but when these valuable people enter our lives... it’ll be a lifelong connection.
I completely understand where you’re coming from and it’s scary because social media outlets have become “high school” all over again. We take every measure possible to make sure we show ourselves in the best light, but so much of what we get on it is superficial. Face to face communication and true human interaction is dwindling by the day.
@@tjslings3077 True, Tune. Glad you see that. It doesn't have to be that way. We who recognize this and don't like it, can encourage our friends to meet together and ask them to put their cell phones aside NO MATTER WHAT, so we can all have a very enjoyable, non-electronic visit.

I quit social media about a month ago...realized how alone I truly am. But guess what. It was 100% worth it. I became WAY more productive. Started doing things that I didn’t think I’d ever do. My mind just became more focused on my goals. My confidence BOOSTED in a matter of days. And it just gets better and better as the days go by. I started to see things more clearly and my personality became more vibrant in a way. Social media is millions of people living a fake life. And without it, I was TRULY myself.
Yeah I'm deleting social media to gain more confidence as I was way more confident without social media 2 yrs ago and to become more stronger and attractive

I was suffering from depressions anxiety due to bullying. On social media, I would see my bullies living happily after what they’ve done to me. I would see the political shit happening and get frustrated. I would see the riots that angered me. I would see people who I compared myself to. I could never detach myself from my electronic since I was always waiting for a text. I decided to delete all social media, and went back once. Then deleted and made sure not to go back to it again. I didn’t need social media. I was able to detach myself and find my inner peace. Of course there are many problems I still go through, but I’m getting rid of them one at a time. My stress levels are lower, and I have more time to do stuff. Setting my priorities straight allowed me to grow as an individual. I hope it can do the same for you too!
proud of you!
To me you're more likely to come across bullies and toxic people online...
Bro these "bullies" are real life pussies... remember that

The best part about Matt is that since he's a minimalist, he never includes anything that he doesn't need to, so I know I don't have to worry abt "wasting time" when I watch his vids.

The moment I deleted my facebook account, I suddenly became invisible and started living a mysterious secret life...no one knew where I was or what adventure I was on. My relationships seem more genuine now. When I got engaged I got to tell all my friends in person. I get to experience life more. While all my friends are trying to capture the moment to post on social media, I get to enjoy the moment instead. I don't know how to explain it, but my moments suddenly became more authentic....they belonged to me.

That's what how we were supposed to live, you know. I don't know what happened to us just social media. Some weird obsession it is. I don't think enough people are realising it yet

Welcome to life only 15 years ago
I quit social media for a few months now and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. When I had it, I always felt there was a fog in my mind and it prevented me from thinking clearly. I also felt like the days were shorter and I got bored easily when off my phone. Also, my attention span was garbage because of social media. Now, I feel like I can really focus and get things done. And overall, I just FEEL better. There’s no way I’m going back. Do yourself a favor and live in the moment, don’t live to capture one for likes. You’ll enjoy life more that way. At least, that’s been my experience with it.
I quit social media a little over two years ago. It was so difficult at first and I felt left out. However, the relationships I had grew stronger because friends/family would share pictures of their family/kids with me directly. I had to he intentional with my friends/family and they learned to be more intentional with me. There is no pressure from the outside world anymore. This is the greatest decision I’ve ever made and I encourage everyone to give it a try!

You might not believe me but I'm 18 but I've never had social media in my life and whenever I started using it, It just made me depressed so I left it !
Wow! That’s awesome!
That’s funny cause I just turned 18 and deleted social media
I was 13 when I joined social media
I'm now 16 so I deleted all
I regret joining them
I'm 13 and had a bad intention going into no social media. My thoughts were " I'll leave social media for a few months and in those few months I'll lose weight and glowup. Then when I post again I'll shock everyone." Now without social media I realize I had a toxic mindset and my intentions were bad. Now my goal is to improve myself and have a better mindset without social media.

I woulnd't have met my husband if it wasn't for social media.
Social media does connect people, yet does the complete opposite, as well. In just one minute, thanks to social media, we can find someone that we would have otherwise probably never found. Whether it be someone we want to reconnect with, or someone whom we've never met and met through whatever app/site, but because of distance we probably would have never crossed paths with. You've got to appreciate that aspect of social media, where clearly it's brought people together and even created beautiful relationships. But like anything else in this world, it can be toxic if we use it too much. Moderation is key with anything. Don't spend too much time behind a screen, remember you are a human being who needs to, physically, interact with other human beings and not just text or make a phone call. 💓

Can you make a video about controlling procrastination! It's so difficult to work from home. All of the sudden i find myself binging on youtube videos and wasting hours and hours!
I have the same issue sometimes too. What kind of work do you do from home? For me i do video editing so ill usually sit and work for like 3 hours just on the project and i feel like i get more done by turning my phone completely off and then telling myself what time i need to get a part of the project done by at a certain time, and setting a deadline for myself tends to make me actually more productive, but when i feel overwhelmed ill take a little break sometimes and use social media again here and there
Its called being self aware and disciplined. also if you have a tough time getting started, make two short lists.
The first list is what it would be like if you did what you are meant to do aka all the great things that would come out of it.
The second list is what it would be like if you DIDN'T do what you were meant to do and what would it be like aka all the bad things (feeling like shit, unaccomplished, missing deadlines, failing, being homeless - if you go down the rabbit hole deep enough)
This works most of the time as it really helps me put things into perspective
@@ibanezbassist7653 I also do video editing 😁
Basically just use a “studio place”. I use the guests room as a type of office to work in my stuff, i design... And no the room doesn’t have anything special, just a little table and a bed. Now for my relax time or breaks i use my own room or living room to watch Netflix or even play videogames. Also, have a schedule. Wake up and work from 9am to 2pm, and set breaks between those hours, at least thats in my case. Hope it helps.
You can download apps on your phone for you to completely be blocked from certain apps. If you have iOS software on your phone I recommend Pops. If you have an android you need to try forest.
I've been quitting social media since this January. It feels like I'm so free! Thank you for ur challenge Matt!
Awesome video! I can 100% relate and am very proud of you and i am showing my 14 year old daughter this❤️💪
I just deactivated my accounts awhile back...i want to spend the rest of my life and time looking up at the sky and not down at my phone. I want to spend the rest of my time with my friends and family that should matter the most that are within your grasp in real time not people who are thousands of miles away. I find it pointless to have to tell social media everything and every move i make. I feel people need so much approval or sympathy. You become part of people problems that they post, a part of their burdens. I started finding myself glued to my screen, litterallly an addiction and i started comparing myself to others. Social media is terrible for mental health! People that dont see any issue in it just havent awoken yet!!
Ive had enough!! I want my life back! We were not born to scroll our lives away.

Jesus christ you can still go out with friends, maybe start by watching less youtube
@@gijs4468 lmao fr
I don''t use social media exept RUclips & i dont have friends..
Bamboozled Doggo Me too, but born probably in the early 70’s so I could experience the 80’s fully. I love the music, the cars, unique fashion, and no internet so much. Almost everyone says it’s their favorite decade. It all started when I got into Synthwave.
I was born in 1972 and yes you have missed something. 80s was a good era for sure 👍 but its never too late for making friends, watch less youtube, spend less time on social media ( or no time anymore its better👍) and you will see a great difference
I did this for this whole month and it’s life changing. 💯
I quit social media for 3 months now and I’m telling you this is the best detox, that I’ve made. Living in the moment and enjoy everything that you want and really makes you happy. ☺️
How did you manage to be busy without distraction to it like what did you do in the free time it's not easy to get rid of this social media thing so soon
@@xoxorabbitg2739 well for now I’m studying languages, exercise a lot and enjoying life ☺️

I think RUclips is informative ( depends upon what content you watch ) everything else insta fb twitter and other social media is a waste of time
i agree
Harwinder Singh RupaL but think about the memes
I do the same. ...Totally agree. ...
Exactly
Sure
I quit Facebook and Instagram, but now I am addicted to RUclips, like three hours per day. But I could say that when I was subscribed to Facebook and Instagram I was sad all the time because of all the perfect lifestyle you see in those platforms. Now with RUclips it’s totally different, I watch science, self improvement, health, books and a lot of interesting channels not just people with their “perfect life”. And of course I am not a native English speaker, so I use RUclips to practice my skills, so double gain.
It's Me SAME
I’m gonna delete RUclips
* I quit Facebook and Instagram, but now I am addicted to RUclips.* just trying to help your progress!
I used to use facebook and instagram to learn new things, after quitting it for a month I think I may go back.
i spend 8 hours a day on you tube lol
Good for you! I clicked on your video for the first time right after I quit Instagram which is a big deal for me as an artist. (I never use Facebook) It would be easier if nobody followed anyone on that app to prevent us from comparing and distracting ourselves. I love writing poetry and your video made me realize that that is all I want to focus on in my downtime anyway!
Great content as always
I am 3 years clean from Facebook.
1 year from snapchat.
5 months from Instagram.
#goingStrong
Edit: I never had these many hits. Thankyou fam🌻✨♥️
Any Pro tip ?
@@deepakkundu876 Remind yourself why you started. Convince your mind Facebook is shit, and nothing. Really happens on Facebook.
Second, don't go all bizzare deleting everything at once. Deal one thing at a time. Start with Facebook, then snapchat and Instagram.
Third, whenever you want to re-install it, read about benefits of social media detox.
Fourth, remember mental health over every damn thing.
Fomo is stupid. You never really miss anything important.
Fifth, you'll know who your real friends are. And you'll realise most were just social friends Nothing more. So save your energy there is alot to fight for!
True ..thanks :)
you should also quit watching youtube for 30 days and you'll improve your life
Wow
I can live without social media for sure ! I broke my phone and didn’t get a new one until 9 months later it was the best thing ever ! you learn so much more and realize how beautiful the world is
Lupu' nope I’m being deadass
If you see 'The amazon rainforest" burning, people trying to raid area51 and over 400k kids dying everyday(yes, only kids) as a good thing then you are a devil

@@spirituallydivineevibess its normal to be confused..As far as i know and heard the government is trying to burn the Amazon for money...
The media are literaly milking money out of this..instead of preventing it they are just filming
@@spirituallydivineevibess The world in the 21st century really sucks. Much worse than many people could ever even imagine. Evil and greed rule the world.
Ive been doing this for the month of February and today is my last day! I’ve only used RUclips but I feel so good completing this challenge. It also makes the month feel longer.
Will do it for a year, to stop comparing yourself to other lives and to spend time with myself

Wait you don’t clear your browser history anyway ? Strange porn or not I always clear my history at the end of the day lol

It might sound crazy, but I used my phone for less than an hour today compared to my 6-hour average. I laughed more, was more social, spent time with family, and got more work done. This video will hopefully have a lasting effect on my life. All I can say is thank you.

Just stumbled on your vlog, you are an inspiration and humble guy
Thanks for telling us your experience during your 30 days social media detox. It helps me to realize that too much exposure to social media make people addict. I usually use social media 2 hours a day for fun but as the time pass I`m feeling that I want to be more time on it. So according to your experience I have to control my time when using social media or better stop using it and use my time in meaningful activities. I know that at the beginning the backlash might be terrible because I have gotten accustomed to it but I know I could do it. It is a challenged for me.
I stopped using facebook and twitter. But now i'm addicted to RUclips lol. But i noticed that youtube is much easier to leave by compared to social medias. Thus, whenever i want to stop, i can easily do it without any mind exhaustions. So youtube > social media
Plus that time limit option on youtube
The brain tends to replace one addiction with another so you just have to replace it with a positive one like working out or listening to audiobooks etc
Plus, podcast videos are great for background noise, makes things like homework less boring.
I deleted Instagram and Snapchat because I have an important exam coming up. Went out with my friends a few times and was so surprised to see how the whole dinner was revolved around just taking photos and not catching up to each others' lives even though we were meeting after 6 months. Kinda makes me want to not download them back altogether
Trumpis God your brain does not have a limit on the amount of information it could hold.
Trumpis God Clearly you did not understand what I said. I never said you could focus on unlimited amount of information at once. I was stating that your brain does not just stop remembering things after a certain amount of time because “awe, whoops... looks like you capped out your 2tb brain, guess I have to delete some knowledge real quick so I can learn some new shit”.
Achcha Kam Kiya tumne
Same here deleted for cat exam lol and it's much better to live without social media.
I really needed to see this
This video really hit home for me. Thanks to my English course, I've been thinking a lot about the benefits of stepping away from social media, and your experience truly resonated with me. It's incredible how much time we spend on our phones, scrolling through social media platforms. Your social experiment of quitting social media for 30 days was inspiring. I completely agree that social media can be a major time killer and distractor from our priorities. Just now, I lost 2 hours watching videos on TikTok.
Your journey made me question the necessity of social media for people. Sometimes, we are so focused on our online world that we forget we are living in reality. Social media can make us feel obsessed and constantly terrified that we will be forgotten by the world if we stop using social networks. However, your video was interesting to see because even without actively using social media, your RUclips channel experienced exponential growth. It's a reminder that the world continues to move on with or without us.
Thank you for sharing your insights and experiences. It's motivating to see that taking a break from social media can have such positive outcomes. I'm inspired to take a step back and reevaluate my own relationship with these platforms
I deleted all my social medias 2 days ago.Let's see how long can I survive without it. Motivate me please because I really want to kill my social media addiction.
Good luck 😊
Let’s go. We’ll do this together😊
Update: i'm surviving and it makes me feel better each day without social medias ☺️
@@cleojanica7488 aww good for you. I'm struggling 😶
Je Sta Clara at first, it is really tough for me not to check my social media, but as day passes by it's getting easier and now i'm just used to it😃
Thumbs up if Matt D'Avella is changing your life
He gave me tools that help me change my own life, because only watching videos has NO positive effect on its own !
But yes, this channel helped me help myself
Woah thanks man. You all are changing mine.
Honestly, too true.
Yeah, I even started waking up 2 hours earlier, and at the same time sleeping almost 3 more hours a day than I did before whatching the video of the last week.
Literally with every video. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
This is my favorite video of yours I've yet watched!!
Quitting social media was one of the best decisions I ever made for my mental health and overall well-being. At first, I was skeptical, fearing I'd miss out or feel disconnected. But stepping away from the constant noise, comparison, and validation-seeking, I found a profound sense of peace and clarity. These my life is filled with genuine connections, meaningful experiences, and uninterrupted focus on personal growth. If you're contemplating a social media detox, I highly encourage you to give it a try. You might be surprised by the positive impact it can have on your life. Trust me, the freedom is life changing.
