That was a super insightful breakdown of your process! appreciate you dropping knowledge on us, especially how the kept the bug grounded so it would adjust to the terrain! Hope this becomes a regular thing and your channel blows up dude, super talented 🤌
Genius parenting and shirk wrapping the empty to the ground to your bug so it always looks like it’s legs are always making good contact with the landscape. I’m going to have to steal that idea. Also great break down video!
i love all the common sense, and very practical tricks you come up with. All while being very aware that you're creating art which has to look and feel nice! Bravo. You have a family and lots of talent, take care of both! God bless.
this is the best breakdown video i've ever seen. No over the top music, no flashy sped up things. I can't express how much i love this. Thank you so much you made my day a little better.
well done man this is so impressive, i was genuinely happy to see that this render won, well deserved, and also you gave me so much inspiration and motivation to learn more and practice more. thank you and congrats
Super congrats for winning the First position. Although liked all the 10 equally. While still must say the 100 compilation of works, totally awesome entries to the challenge. To judge among last 10, its kind a like impossible to choose. Again, Congrats a Ton.. for winning. The animation with such clean and dynamic flow totally awesome.,👍
Man, thank you so much for sharing your whole process for this! SO much useful information... You are a huge inspiration! I keep getting blown away by your entries for these challenges, and what a fantastic surprise - I just now found out that you are the same artist behind the Don Quixote CG Choice award winning image, as well as the digital art masters cover and steampunk challenge winning entry on CGTalk!!! I remember those very well, as well as the digital art masters cover and steampunk challenge winning entry on CGTalk I was still in highschool at the time and was just starting to get serious about 3D. So your work inspired me even then, and still does. You're a legend. Thank you.
As soon as I saw this like 2 weeks ago I knew this was gunna win. Damn near perfect animation. Everything was overall very satisfying to watch. Great job man.
Fabricio, I'm so happy you won! Yours was the first engines challenge video I saw before the top 100 was out and I sent it to my friend and boom flash forword you won! 🤯🔥
Thank you so much for the breakdown, was very insightful! And congrats again for the win! Hope the visa process is easy and you have a good time at Camp Mograph!
The first time I saw it I knew this will be in Top 5 because of how professional the level of quality from the design, texturing and lighting and especially the story. The only entry I shared on my FB wall! Well deserve man and congratulations!
Hey, I saw a glimpse of this before the T100, and I knew this was special. Bruh, I spent a little time watching it, analyzing it, and it's always great to take in a fellow artists work. For me, art has to have a meaning, a message that speaks to the audience. Doesn't have to be the same language, nor does it have to have the same contextual meaning, as long as it resonates with the person, it's all good. That starts with it resonating with you, and I feel you and this idea are connected, thank you for sharing, and I appreciate and love you sharing the process! Another reason why I love this community! Keep KRUSHIN it, also my last name and yours are variants of the same name. Let's hope I can do the name proud just like you did here!
Congrats mate!!...Thank you so much for sharing this. I never done any animation yet so this was a tiny masterclass on the workflow. I was planning to make one with Wall-e and Eve but time was an issue for me. Still might try it later on. Thanks again.
Bruuuuuuh, you just answered a huge question i had about the constraints, ugh. This is why I love this... really, thank you soo much for this video. It means a lot to guys trying to figure it out on their own. It's a pretty amazing thing, I sees you!
The fact you did this with very cheap addons in blender and fusion in divinci is great, a little help from Zbrush but that would be the most premium tool on your list, this is more effcient than some commercial software, you negated the need to use somthing like substance painter because the addon in blender cut quite a few steps out and got similiar results, this is A tier work and really inspired me that you don't need to invest thousands of dollars to do Hollywood level CGI, A+++ hats off!!!! (Now I need to learn Blender, finally) 😄
Hi. Thank you so much for the kind words. All the 3d applications evolved so much. I don't know how to use all of them, of course, but I believe any tool can achieve the same result as this animation. I am a long-term 3Ds Max user, but I found Blender easier and more flexible in many aspects, which is why it was my tool of choice. If you are not constrained to any pipeline or unwilling to apply to a company requiring specific software, you should use the best tool for you.
So many crever tips and tricks but so much work and passion at the same time ! Amazing ! Very inspiring thank you very much ! I missed all the challenges so far so i'm gonna make a little project with all the challenges in mind !
awesome work dude. never seen such unanimous agreement on a winner for pwnisher challenges. you deserved it 100%. I would love to know more about your color grading process though. i think it went by too fast. and i don't think i even understand what 'Linear to Arri log C LUT' means really 🙃! I've been trying to learn compositing and color grading and i'd love to know more about your process.
Color grading in DaVinci is something that I am still learning. Blender uses filmic color system as default. I rendered this animation in EXR 32 bit Float, so the filmic color is not embedded to the files sequence. In this case I need to interpret in DaVinci applying a LUT. This ARRI LogC gave me the best result to start the color grade. But in reality I didn’t change the colors too much. I basically saturated and warmed up the colors. I hope I answer your question. If you need clarification, please let me know.
I would probably make it faster because I would skip the trial and error part. All issues were already being solved. This is the best part of projects like this, pushing yourself to learn new stuff and become more efficient.
Congratulations man ! Your work is so amazing ! I really wanted to see this Breakdown, and its done so beautifully and super understandable for everyone to learn this type of work and it really inspires me to try this 3D Challenge. I'm a new learner in Bender i didn't know where to start, this video gave me a clarity and ideas how to work on the projects. Thanks a lot.
An inspiration! My idea was pretty similar to yours, but wow what a difference in the end result! Very inspiring and the breakdown here is definitely going to help me in the next challenge! Congrats on the win!

the "I JUST NOTICED THE GNOME!" was a very unexpected jump scare haha
Great work!
lol
Genius parenting and shirk wrapping the empty to the ground to your bug so it always looks like it’s legs are always making good contact with the landscape. I’m going to have to steal that idea. Also great break down video!
It worked nicely for me. But the low camera angle and speed occlude the fact that the bug legs slide a lot on the ground. Just to keep this in mind.
This is in fact more value than a dozen tutorials. So many clever tricks used to simplify complex stuff! Thanks a ton !
I am BLOWN AWAY that this was done in 3 weeks. Absolutely amazing job Fabricio.
You were my Personal favorite! And also the one stealing eggs and the guy on the office chair. Astonishing !
I don't know a single thing about animation, 3D rendering, etc - but this was a joy to watch. Thanks for the breakdown and congrats on the win!
This breakdown isn`t just insightful, it`s actually entertaining.
