I use a 49 inch g9 for sim racing. I’m sure there’s better options but it was so simple to set up and works great. I have it pretty close to me. Iracing had a setting for it.
Great video! Just got one myself! I agree with you that it needs to be taller. I had two 32in monitors almost 56in across when put together, with only a 1in gap in the middle before upgrading to the G9. I miss the extra space, but love the image that this screen puts out. I will share this video with my brother who also got one!
Could you show how the mounting to a rig is different from the stand? How does the wall mount fit in? Where does the plastic ring go? Instructions aren’t clear.
Awesome video! As much as I love the new G9, this has steered me towards purchasing two 25" 1080p 240hz IPS monitors to go aside my current monitor (same as the former), as this would be ~30% the cost of the G9
I'm getting the new G9, but not primarily for simracing. I'm hoping to position my sim rig and my desk so I can use a monitor arm to swing it between the two.
Great video! I also have an 80/20 sim rig with roughly the same brand accessories. I just purchased the new G9 odyssey monitor, and was wondering if you purchased that black bracket and the stand for the monitor somewhere? Or did you have to custom build it?
Hello, thank you for this comprehensive video, very helpful!. I am considering buying this monitor. I have GT Omega prime rig with their free single monitor stand (not the one that attaches to your rig. Do you know if my stand would work with this monitor? Thanks!
Hello and thanks for your upload. I use a 32 inch single screen tv for Assetto Corsa. Last night for a test I hooked up my 60 inch tv that’s usually in my living room. What I couldn’t understand is why my field of view in the drivers seat wasn’t more, it simply was the same view as it would be on my 32 inch. I thought i would see the side mirrors more and just an overall improvement on what I could see whilst in the drivers seat view. I’m considering buying a 55 inch ultrawide monitor but I’m hesitant as will this do the same as it did last night on my 60 inch tv? Or is the only way I’m trying to increase my field of view is to buy triples instead? Your advice is appreciated. Thank you
Hi man atm i have a 32 curved 1000r samsung g7. I drive rally games, do you think 36 cm is high enough, or does it get annoying quickly and you want a higher screen. I think it's good to ask you, because you've had the screen for a long time. if you could answer me whether this would be a good purchase decision. it would be nice to get an honest assessment from you, which would make my decision easier
I have this monitor and use it frequently for many different things, sim racing is just an added bonus. But for around the same cost, you can buy a moving chair and a VR headset. So, if your goal is sim racing, and only sim racing That would be the MUCH smarter choice. then you can spend 10 bucks on a cheap 1080p monitor as the driver just to navigate the computer. etc...
So, the way I setup my FOV is as if I was in the car itself, so 1:1 ratio. I try to "measure" it down by eye as I know how wide the car should be and what can I reach, or not, with my hands "around the premises". Like this it usually ends up being somewhere between 35 and 45° in-game.
can you please let me know some more of the details on what you had to do for each racing game/sim rig itself, to get the FOV set and the positioning of the wheel to be correct. Did you have any issues getting games to work well with this monitor? I was going to get this to avoid the three screen issues but I'm seeing more and more people going between projection correction and triple screen settings on just AC alone and can't get it just right still.
Debating buying another 32in G7 for my sim rig and going double curved , or a G9 for my sim rig such a touch choice but I really want to see my side mirrors
It makes perfect sense for what? Maybe for playing other games than simracing titles. You should see both of your external mirrors in an optimal monitor setup, which makes triples perfect for this kind of situation as you get additional horizontal FOV compared to a superultrawide
It does make perfect sense if triples aren't an option, going from a 34" to the G9 is a night and day difference, I can see all across my dash with as much out of my left window as any triple setup, you won't get that a on 34".
@@MattsPaddock your right ,,,ive read about it ... somehow i had the idea that ips would be better , but all whats better about an ips is the view angle and the colors. contrast, black level seem to be better with a VA panel ..
I think the biggest disappointment is you have this one monitor that costs more than three 27" nice monitors, and you still can't even see the mirrors on your car. Still not an easy choice.
That's what I was thinking. I really can't see any more than my 31.5 inch curved. Looks like ultrawide definitely isn't worth it unless this gius FoV is wrong
@@chanman1197 well just think about the ratio... Is it wider than your monitor? It's 32.9 ratio if that's wider then the view is wider. It's the setting up that's important. It's 30% wider then a ultrawide simple as that. I have 2 one for desktop and 1 for racesim. It's alot better than a 16.9 but I think it's too height restricted and I'm changing to triples for non VR titles.
Does anybody think a TITAN X (Pascal) can get a decent pic/frames with this monitor? That being said, graphic pushing games would also be sim racing games like: ACC, F1 2020, GRID 2, GRID(2019), and Wreckfest.

I’m also interested in this matter. Is it necessary to buy any kind of adapter to mount it to the monitor stand plate??

You need to adjust the FOV for different size screens otherwise you will get the same image just bigger. There's plenty of FOV calculators online.
Are you using HDMI or DisplayPort ?

I got an G9 as well, what FOV did you set on Assetto Corsa? I play more or less at the same distance from the screen.
what is your distance from your eyes? so that the curved one closes? because I have 72 but it seems to me that it is too far :(
What is your fov?
I have a G9. I agree the height is the only issue. A double 32” design instead of 27” would be awesome

Not really. VR is not suited for long-term usage as it will make you nauseated.

For iracing set it up as triple monitors, put the monitors width as 410mm with bezzel at 0mm and angle at 12'. You will thank me for it 👍
Nice but you still don't see the side mirrors which I have on my triple screen. 😇

What if i add two 27' monitors to the side? 🤔
Then you need a RTX3090 to drive them and even then you might not get the desired fps.
turn on HDR
I bought it for 850€ today for my Sim Rig
