    Old Hand Wringer - Restoration
Hi guys! How are you doing?
In today video i show how to restore a old hand wringer.
Undortunately i don't know anything about this piece, the only thing i know is that this tool was used to wringe clothes in the past.
Any information abaut the brand and how many years this Wringer have.
To star the restoration i use some Wrenchs and pipe wrench, there was some parts that don't leave so the better way to remove those parts is put in a Vinegar bath.
After 1 day on vinegar bath i try to disassemble again, and this time all worked well with a penetrating oil.
With all parts disassembled i brush all them with a strong degreaser, the old paint melt and i wash it away off camera.
Now i remove all the casting imperfections with a file, but some past marks still are in the surface. I didn't wanted to make a super smooth finish.
After that i remove the deep rust with water and hydrochloric acid for 4 hours.
Then i fill some holes and sanded all with a sandpaper 120G to 220G.
To paint i used 2 coats of Primer and 2 coats of Red.
Some parts i wire brush and sand with 220G sand paper.
To restore the wringers i brush wire and sand with a 220G to 400G sand paper, i don't find any way to fill the imperfection in the wringer, and that part doesn't fit on my lathe.
I make a wood handle on lathe and applied 2 coats of varnish.
Now is time to assemble all.
With the assemble done i make a test time.
This tool work good but it's hard to work with.

Feliz Ano Novo! ❤️

I kept wondering what the rollers were made from. At first I thought they were stone, was surprised to see they were metal. Very cool.

Sim, existe outro modelo que também restaurei em um video passado que era para passar massas.
São modelos diferentes, esse é maior e mais pesado.

I don't like to criticise these projects because I know there's a lot of effort put into them and the end result looks great, but...
You did not need to use all of that filler, most of the imperfections could have been sanded out using various grades of wet n dry papers. And, if you are going to clamp threaded parts in a bench vice, use rubber or aluminium jaws to prevent damage.

Thanks for the tip, this time I really put a lot of filler hehe'.

I do remember wringer type washing machines. However, you don't get your hands caught in one of them. Not a pretty situation... Thumbs Up!
