He was first seen as quadrupedal during the first half indicating his beastly nature, but became bipedal during the second half which shows that he finally learned to become human again.

I can imagine the entire scene unfolding while this is played. From when Belle entering the West Wing, seeing the Prince's portrait torn apart and trying to put it together to see his face, then suddenly see the Enchanted Rose and wanting to touch it but the Beast steps in and yells at her and quickly regrets doing so. Belle gets terrified and runs away with her horse into the forest and gets attacked by wolves, and the Beast come to her rescue. The Beast fights the wolves and gets injured and passes out. That's how much the music impacts the movie and myself.

I agree. I think that's the Beast's motif, since it's played a lot in scenes with him in it (as I recall, it's been a while since I've seen the original Beauty and the Beast). Also, it plays in the prologue, where we learn his backstory, so it would make sense that this was his motif.

this is how you do fairy tale movies disney. also I agree, I love this motif, when they use it it usually shows the humanity in the beast, like later when he spares gaston while the other leitmotif at 1:45 shows all the anger and self loathing he must overcome

When it came time to write the score, someone (I can't recall who) had insisted that Menken's score sound like Saint-Saens' piece. So there you are --- it's very similar but not the same.
Some guy menken was close with said I want aquarium in the movie and Mencken said I can't do that and he said I don't care I want it and was being stubborn about it in a light hearted way, then menken said something along the lines of alright I can't do that but let me write up this and see how it goes. And that's basically how the leitmotif was written
The music that plays when she sees the rose gives me goosebumps. We have only seen the enchantress (giving the prince the rose) as glass painting in the prologue and now that we actually get to see the rose "live" we can only imagine what the enchantress would look like live. This scene with the rose is the closest that we get to her.

This track is the perfect wide range of emotions put together. Peaceful, Optimistic, Curious, Wonder, Fear, Rage, Suspense, Determination. All rolled into one. Only a master like Menken can pull it off.

Thanks to this track, hearing about the Tv series The West Wing kinda still scares the piss out of me. I’ll never forget just how unsettling and eerie that scene was. The music is beautiful of course but it sure did terrify me when I was little. It’s hard to forget that memory, haha.

The new Beauty and the Beast was good but the original cartoon Beast was scarier because the cartoon Beast use to scare me as a kid. The new Beast doesn't look that scary only scary for the younger ones maybe who never heard of Beauty and the Beast before.
Of course it doesn't scare you now, you're an adult, you don't scare as easily anymore, and the more you see it the less scary it is to you. I mean, this scene wouldn't scare you if you where to watch the cartoon tonight.

I liked most of the remake, but this part felt so rushed, it was pretty disappointing.
