    I love how in the older Disney movies they have the endings where the Disney Chorus comes in and does a beautiful rendition of a song and just make it amazing. This one is amazing, and in Beauty and the Beast, and also in Sleeping Beauty.

      +Lisa McCrissican I totally agree. There's something very theatrical about the old Disney's that we all love. I thank the heavens for allowing me to be alive at this point in the planets lifetime to enjoy the creation of these films.

      Yes! It gives it such a timeless feel to it! Its hard to do that with modern titles but we are so glad they did it for the Renaissance era!

    The story wasn’t about Ariel wanting to leave home for a man. It was about Ariel seeing and believing in the good in humanity and was right to do so and made her dreams a reality. She is one of the best princesses and a great role model

    What I love most about this ending is how Menken had the theme sung by choir at the close, just like in classic Disney films of the gold and silver age. I wish they would do that still.

      I'm 29 and this is still by far one of my favorite all time movie. My future mother in law only had 2 boys so she never watched the Little mermaid and even though I've told her she should watch it hundreds of times the last 6 years, she still won't because she "has no interest in it" 🙄

    My favorite track on the album. Actually, Disney does a great job in utilizing ending tracks by rehashing familiar themes! Alan Menken and Howard Ashman - definitely the dream duo for this album! They know how to give emotions to music.

    I always found the ending of the little mermaid really sad in that Ariel was leaving her family and undersea friends and they all come to say goodbye with this soundtrack track. It should have been a happy ending but I could never see it that way!

      +greenkitty82 my oldest sibling was about a year and a half when this came out. My parents took her to see it in theaters, and when it got to this part, my dad says he just started crying his eyes out at the thought of saying goodbye and letting go already, and she was a baby!! So you're definitely not alone!

      greenkitty82 Considering how this is the first version where the mermaid doesn't die at the end, I'd say it could have been worse. Every other version has the mermaid leaving her family for a guy she doesn't even know, only for him to marry someone else, and she dies. Even worse, her sisters try to SAVE her and she still ends up dying. So this is DEFINITELY a happy ending.

      Anyone would change their life just to feel better. That's what I'm going to do. My mom did the same. She use to live in Wisconsin and now she lives here in Virginia. I'm making a move to Oregon next year for a better future. A friend of mine that I've known for almost 5 years is willing to help me out.

    Alan Menken never fails to make me amazed by his music arrangements, not just the music but the lyrics to! The lyrics are so great, i like colors of the wind ; part of your world the most!

      RIP Howard Ashman, who was the lyricist for Little Mermaid and is credited for "giving a mermaid a voice". He was a lyricist who not only had great teamwork with Alan Menken but used every musical project to make sure they conveyed feeling and meaning. You should watch his lecture he willingly gave the production team - I saw it on the movie's special features

    I remember when this came out on VHS back in the late 80's and early 90's. The one quote I still remember was when Ariel got her feet and then married the prince, and King Triton went up to the edge of the boat and Ariel just hugged him "Thank you Daddy".

    A Happy Ending. What exactly is wrong with them? It is not in fact cliché to have a happy ending no matter what anybody say's. Everyone wants a happy ending. Its just not everyone is lucky enough to have one.

    love this song actually love the whole soundtrack and i don't even have kids and i am almost 34. the movie also i was just a little girl of about 7 or 8 seeing in theater. my daddy and i used to sing along to the soundtrack he would play for me while on "road trip"s under the sea is/was our favorite to belt out too he had soundtrack made me a copy on a cassette tape yeah dont see much of those these days its long gone and from overplay because when i was 8 i also had a sony walkman picture 1989 what every kid wanted. couple years later i graduated to using the radio to make my own mix tapes. i didnt get my first portable cd player til i was 13. also the other soundtrack my dad and i would jam too was the lion king.one does not simply grow out of disney,movies the characters and the music.i remember when the little mermaid came out i also wanted to be princess ariel for halloween but nope my mom wouldnt even let me get the costume i saw at toys r us i had my heart set on totally broken. i was Belle for halloween one year,when i was 10 i had her blue dress was hand made by a relative and my hair was all done up. i really do tear up to opening scores and ending scores of disney movies always have. so but well im supposed to go find dory this friday as part of my birthay gift from my step mother. long live disney/pixar and mermaids of course

    Princes and the Frog truly is a Disney Classic if it makes u feel like a kid again, it sure did with me because they rarely make movies like that anymore, ESPECIALLY hand drawn, and if they did make it hand drawn, it probably wouldn't be appropriate based on what weird shows they have now a days. Yeah princess and the frog is one of my favorites, hand drawn, appropriate, a classic, yes, truly a movie that people should make now a days... i love Disney Classics :) not Disney Drama -_-

    Yup, true Disney was like this. Make you think, wonder, imagine, sing, inspire, not like most of now a days movies, all i see is weird talking about drama and weird dressing, and especially how most of it is 3D, im getting kind of tired by it, they need to not be lazy and get back with paper and show more classics :) Princess and the Frog is counted as one :) i love that one :D

    I have a question: is the music at 1.40-1.53 and then at 2.16 until the end present in other parts of this movie? Or does a full version of that music exsist? I think it's amazing and maybe one of the saddest I've ever heard in a movie. Thanks for help
