P.S. I forgot to note that there are some bald spots on the ballast, but with the hundreds of loose stones rolling around inside the packaging these were easy enough to fix, with a bit of glue on the foam and then a quick sprinkling of the loose ballast stones!
I'm currently in the process of laying roofing felt on my layout to simulate ballast as per Budget Model Railways.
Makes the layout come alive. Looking good.
I really like the ballast, the difference it makes is massive!
I am using pva to try and stick some of those mats down on to 6mm polystrine sheets not sure yet if they are going to dry flat proberly need to leave them overnight to dry out.
They look neat!

Gauge master foam ballast is rebranded Noch .If you need any more check out the Noch stuff ,it's cheaper

The ballast is a bit pricey; but it is quick and easy to install and does look good
Yes, it was definitely something that I had to think twice about buying, but as a one off cost I am glad that I bought it, just a case of making sure that the rest of the project stays within reason!
I cannot seem to find the gauge master ballasted underlay for the HO scale anywhere. Can someone help?
