@@monaliceke the one I want the most is mauve however this colour can’t be shorten. So I choose chalk colour, it’s fabulous!

Loved the bag! A little disappointed about the sandalwood color..I thought it was more like a burgundy 😢
Me too, a bit disappointed as I wanted a very dark chocolate brown but it turned out like milk chocolate instead. However, I like the design very much. I hope you will enjoy yours too.

I have tha Uni bag and the strap is similar to Uni.
I like the new one. I have the same hand cream but I cut the sharp corners off the end by rounding them with scissors 😂

Thank you so much! I like them both. Since I wanted a brown bag, I have been hesitating between the smooth leather cognac color and the black dix. My husband prefers the black (he doesn’t like brown) so he bought the black dix for me. That’s why I bought the Tonca in brown for myself.
Great review, and very helpful. I still haven't pulled the trigger on Polene bags because of so many negative reviews about their customer service. Do you prefer your Numero Dix or Tonca? Initially, I wanted the Dix, but now I don't know. The Tonca looks nice, too. Which one is easier to use? I'm all about practicality. I really appreciate any help you can provide.
@@anafeller4069 I’m glad that my review is helpful, thanks! In terms of capacity and style, I prefer the Dix. However, the Tonca “wins” in terms of its ease to switch from crossbody to shoulder carry. I have now been wearing my Dix solely on the short shoulder strap for shoulder carry. It’s just too much of a hassle to change the strap. The Tonca may not be a good choice if you have a larger phone. I have the iphone 11 pro max and is rather difficult to fit in between the folds inside the bag. These are just my thoughts after using the bags for a while. Hope this helps.
Thank you so much for your thorough review! I have been admiring it for a while, but there is no physical Polene shop in New Zealand to have a close look at it before buying it online. So your review really helps to picture it whether it will be the right bag for me. I have one question, though. Would it fit a Kindle (4.5"x6.5")?

Thanks for your nice comment! I don’t have a Kindle, but I tried with a book of a similar size and it doesn’t fit. Because of the curved-shape and also the “dimple” design on one side of the bag, it’s not easy to fit larger items inside. My iPhone 11 Pro Max can fit near to the top of the bag. Note that the top closure is also curved, hence limiting what can fit comfortably inside. I hope this answers your question. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi, do you know when Polene updated the Tonca so that it can be worn as a shoulder bag? Was it this year, or sometime in 2023?
I think it was around November 2023. I noticed the difference when I looked at different colors of the bag and I purchased mine in December. Hope this helps.

I like them both as they fit the same amount of items. So far I’ve been wearing the Dix more than the Tonca. Thanks for your comment. Would you buy any of these bags?
Does the sandalwood color goes with most colors and outfits, including all black outfits?
I have worn it with all black outfits during the winter. It doesn’t stand out too much when worn with black of course. For me, I would consider the sandalwood color as something similar to the LV-monogram brown. It would go with jeans and neutrals like beige, caramel, cream, white and black; also bright colors (if you like contrast). Hope this helps. Good luck with your choice of color!

I can't believe the strap and the bag don't match in color. That's a no go for me because the company is cutting corners while raising prices.
I have chosen the “Edition Duo Sandalwood” which is meant to be a 2-tone coloured bag. I think 2-tones emphasise the contrast between the pebbled leather and smooth leather on the bag. I love the idea of 2-tones but just didn’t expect the sandalwood colour on the pebbled leather to be so much lighter shade than the smooth leather strap.
All Tonca styles that have the “Duo” mentioned in the colours are 2-tones. For example: Edition Duo Camel, Edition Duo Maple, Edition Duo Ecru, Edition Duo Mauve, Edition Duo Laurel.
If I knew that the sandalwood has a lighter brown pebbled leather, I would probably have chosen the “Edition Textured Cognac” instead. Cognac brown is also a colour I really like.
If that was the case, I would have a single colour bag in Cognac on the pebbled and smooth leathers. Just like the Edition Textured Black, Edition Textured Taupe and Edition Textured Chalk - these are single-coloured bags.
