Marking the cigar bushings is smart. I'm very similar in the sense that I spend a ton of time making sure I have the blanks oriented correctly to the bushings/kit. Another great turn, Bob!
Side note, I have seen people feel for lip between the blank and kit. I know that for competition that is the first test, fail it and the pens out no matter how it looks. And your fingers can feel easily a 64th and often a 128th of an inch.

That is always one of my first tests.
