We have compared the 2 generations of lego mindstorms.
The NXT Alpha Rex is more like a person robot
The EV3rstorm is just a random robot.
I like the NXT more because it is like a person and it can walk. The EV3 is easier to control.

Tip: Use the Track3r controls for the EV3Storm. Go to the spinner, and you can continuously spin it. Also, the tank controls are a lot easier.

Wow the NXT is quite realistic
I'd still be building with my NXT if my programmable brick wasn't busted.
Mine's the older NXT 1.0, though.
That said, I see certain advantages with EV3 over NXT, but the two, just like the NXT and RCX, can definitely co-exist in some manner.

I find the best the EV3RSTORM because he can shoot, so run with knives and he can run faster, I mean run faster on tracks, and which has a disco ball and this robot i would! but who says that jeey I'm going to win ?, and alpha rex who can walk, but it is very slow and that can move his shoulders, but I find that the EV3RSTORM is the best!
but nxt 2.0 kit comes with a weapon and ball and theres more bullets than the ev3 kit just build a weapon and equip in alpha rex

The AlphaRex is complete although some pieces might be missing or are a different color.

The EV3 looks more like a Bionicle where the NXT looks like a robot. So im sticking with NXT.
Well Bionicles are made from lego so I guess it would make sense if lego were to base the ev3rstorm of their previous robots.

NXT is better by far. And cheaper. Why pay loads more for something where the parts are almost all lousy accessories? The Ev3erstorm can't even walk properly. Idk what was wrong with yours but my NXT goes much faster then yours. The Ev3rstorm is faster but the NXT has better hardware, it is much easier to code and it can actually walk.
But I Think Ev3 Is Better Than NXT Because It Can Shoot And It Can Also Rotate That Fan And NXT Cannot Do Those Things Like Ev3. And It Has A Remote Control And NXT Does Not Have That.
Please remember that this is not a battle between NXT and EV3 but between Ev3rstorm and Alpharex. You could easily rebuild both to driving or walking robots.
Nathan Howard actually EV3 is cheaper because NXT is discontinued and is more valuable as a collectors item and harder to find. NXT 2.0 sets usually go for $500
