A garbage truck goes up in a fireball. Nobody was injured. The Hydraulic line burst, causing hydraulic fluid to spurt up in the air (liquid spraying out the truck), it caught the exhaust which ignited a fire. The fire did not last, it hardly even burned after the original fireball. The driver was completely fine.

Yes stuff like this happens. People record us all the time. Driver also heard the pipe burst and that's why his reflexes were so fast.
*pipes won't burst. Hoses will crack leak for a while and finally give. I'm 100% sure there had been a leak for a while and nobody cared. Odd hydrolic oil burning smell and themn it would magically go away. Culminating at this point.

If I had to guess I'd say truck was running a regen cycle for the exhaust to be that hot to flash hydro that quick. Either way a testimony to how fast it really can happen.

It’s the misting of the hydronic fluid under pressure that makes it especially flammable, but like the description said the flame died down because the pressure dropped and the liquid poring out isn’t as flammable. Like a jet engine, the fuel burns in the engine but puddle on the ground you can put a cigarette out in it and it won’t ignite.

u record enough you learn to spot warning signs of trouble. it doesn't matter if it's trains or garbage trucks or whatever. you record enough you will eventually find yourself calling their dispatcher to warn of the problem
What happened was the hydraulic fluid hose broke and the fluid went near the exhaust and caught on fire the driver was OK. He used a fire extinguisher to put the fire out. I stopped recording after he jumped out of the truck

The fireball came from the high pressure hydraulic oil shooting from the hydraulic lines. The oil can shoot relatively far with the enormous pressure it has. It is also flammable. The further one can get from the shooting, Bruning, oil, the better. It could cling to the flesh and ignite with ease.
I think we’ll let them off. 😄
