That's what happens when you eat a _species appropriate_ (ancestral) diet! Humans evolved for the better part of the past 3 million years as carnivores -- first as scavengers, then later as top-level predators. It's not surprising that humans thrive on a diet of almost exclusively meat, since that's the diet we are physiologically adapted to eat. It's only in the past 10,000 years or so that we've been forced to make compromises that -- in general -- have ruined our health and caused a host of chronic diseases that affect most of the population (cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, atherosclerosis, diabetes, etc.).

@Jurica Sambol Assuming you're not being sarcastic, then the answer to your question is an emphatic *no,* we did not _"eat mostly fruit and vegetables for most of evolution,"_ for the simple reason that what you and I consider "fruit and vegetables" didn't even _exist_ until they were selectively bred -- mostly within the last couple thousand years. The wild ancestors of these things were generally small, toxic, fibrous, seasonal, and only available in certain locations, and could never have formed the basis of the human diet. Prior to the controlled use of fire, such muck would have been completely inedible even for short periods of time, and even _with_ cooking, these things would be so nutrient-poor that they could only be eaten occasionally as starvation foods. Humans once had a 1500 cc brain (now reduced to around 1200), and a brain that size has a very high and constant energy demand -- it could never be met by eating the wild ancestors of "fruit and vegetables", to say nothing of all the other essential nutrients missing from such foods!
This is what we ate: journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0028689

"discount-bin" piled high with the very expensive cuts, that are marked-down 50%. Is that just a tactic that still makes the store money, or it it just overpricing, resulting in a lot of meat being sold at a huge discount(and loss?)? No way I am paying $18.99 a pound for any cut of meat.

A few small things I recommend people do in order to avoid the overall high costs of this diet over the course of a month:
    1. Do your best to transition into O.M.A.D., one meal a day. Once you have fully acclimated to the diet, you can actually eat quite a bit if you are an active person. This allows you to also supplement the food costs with cheaper items like eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. Eggs especially allow you to get a lot of food for lower price from time to time.
    2. If you throw in one day a week where you fully fast, easier to do when you get used to OMAD, you can shave almost a week's worth of the food costs out of your monthly budget.
You just have to find a balance of what works for your body and your salary situation.

TheBrotherThre3, I was a vegan also! But I am now eating keto, including meat, and will soon be going full carnivore. I can tell you that I am MUCH healthier now than when I was vegan. Adding meat back in literally saved my life. And there are ways to be carnivore and still love and care for animals. To me it helped to realize that we're part of the circle of life, not somehow standing above it. I would say, if it feels hard, to transition in by eating some pastured eggs from chickens you know were well cared for on a family farm. Then add meat when you're ready. Take care and be well!

Keto always worked well for me. Then I tried one meal a day. Then my career changed, dealing with high stress and couldn’t go all day anymore with one meal with headaches. Rather than cart Tupperware on my daily commute, I started bringing a sandwich. And that was the gateway back to carbs. Not sugar or processed food, but soups and stews with potato, meat and veg, or some rice or pasta in there... sticks to your ribs... and waistline. I’m looking at changing my career and hopefully it will be easier to switch back to keto or try carnivore diet.

A good balance of the diet and working out will result in a full tight physique with low body fat and nice vascularity. I can't tell people enough, whole foods as opposed to supplements and powders. Meat is protein, which is caloricly less dense than carbs. Yes there are fats, but it's usually marble fat, they're easily digested as opposed to the fat in spray oils and butters. Meat moves through you quickly, digests easily and fuels all aspects of your body. The carnivore diet has scientific merit to it.

@White Zionist protein powders and supplements are just the 5% of the mountain. These athletes eat thousands of calories a day and only the last bit is from powders. The rest is from whole foods and particularly meats, unless they're vegan or vegetarian.

Hot grandpa, I love it. I'm in my late 50's, and today is my 4th day on the diet and until now all the people I've watched regarding this diet have been much younger people, so glad I found you. I really hate eating all this meat🤭 but if it will improve my health I'm willing to suffer through it. So far I've noticed that my body temperature is between 98.1to 98.5. When I was eating low meat and lots of vegetables I was always cold and 97.8 was a high temperature for me. I'm not feeling great yet and have some constipation issues be I'm sure things will get better as time goes on. Thanks for the info.

After watching other carnivore's from multiple channel's. They seem more content and clear thinking, the mind is at ease. I had grass fed beef from wal-mart and some elk, turkey, bacon, olive's, cheese, blueberries. Feel great this morning no anxiety, or worrying about the day. Going to stick with carnivore. It is way more simplistic shopping also, which also reduces stress, cooking too.

Im not carnivore but low carb/keto and I'd say 2 things. I think 1.cutting out all the processed and refined carbs, and alcohol, makes a huge saving and gives extra money for quality meats and fats..
    2. I would say I don't think it's necessary to eat rib eye steak every meal, I eat rump which is 1/3 to 1/2 the price usually and I use beef and lamb on the bone to cook a big low carb high fat curry with...
In NZ beef and lamb is mostly pasture raised, though before slaughter and in winter grain feed is supplemented into the diet..
Anyway, the bone cuts of meat can be 9-15$ a kilo compared to steaks at 13-22$ for rump to 30-45$ for various fillets..
Another point to note is you usually get more fat with cheaper cuts.. So that's great

George, looking great and your face looks five years younger. If I may be permitted a workout suggestion, older guys like us can benefit from isometric exercises too. I use an old bullworker and a three foot length of tow chain. Don't hold your breath, vary the angles of contraction, hold each position 20-30 seconds to build muscle. Check out "Alexander Zass" on RUclips and Google...The Mighty Samson and the granddaddy of isometrics. Done right, it is a safe and efficient form of strength and lean muscle development.
By the way the origin of the word "vegan" comes from the Urdu word meaning "can't hunt for shit." Well, if not true, should be. :-)

Find yourself a super cheap discount store that sells select garbage meat. Catch that stuff on sale, then cook it in a sous vide machine. Select sirloin that would normally be almost inedible comes out as tender as a choice filet. Just as flavorful as a choice sirloin too.

One of the things I have discovered is this: Get to know your butcher. I bought about 13 lbs of fatty beef and pork trimmings for 39 cents a pound. Chine meat! The total was amazing! I cut all that fatty meat up into baggies of about a pound or so. OMAD pas roasted pork ribs today. No hunger all day long! Just coffee, water and meat.
Pork feet, smoked hocks make for a really delicious broth. Beef knuckles, oxtails and shanks are super cheap. You don't need steak if you can't afford it. I recommend higher fat content, just for the appetite crushing it does.

I'll be 60 in October. From August 1st 2017 to February 1st 2018 I was in the hospital with a severe heel ulcer that required 2 surgical debridements from Type 2 Diabetes.
I weighed 368 lbs when I left the hospital. I went on a Keto diet + IF (18/6, 20/4) + 2MAD or OMAD and have lost 106 lbs so far.
Have started weight training 4 x per Week three weeks ago.
But I've hit a plateau the past few weeks so I'm going to try the CARNIVORE diet for at least 3 months. I want to get down to 185 lbs. (I'm 6'1").
My HbA1c when I left the hospital was 14 mmol; today it is 5.1.

If your doing the carnivore diet id consider adding offal to your diet. In particular beef chicken and lamb liver. Most densely nutrient packed food on the planet by a fair margin. Admittedly its not mainstream and has a bad wrap in terms of taste. But if you soak it in milk in the fridge. The longer the better it doesnt taste too bad. Similar texture to tofu. 90 seconds each side on the fry pan and its done. Cost efficient too.
