I made this recently while my wife was out of town. OMG it was magnificent! I do most of the cooking and I love pot roast but I’ve never made it. Wow I ate ever last bite over a few days. And I’m going to make it again tonight for my family. You are so soothing to listen to in this video and your personality comes through in the food. Thank you!

One of the things I most enjoy about your cooking is that when things don't go exactly as you planned you just move on and don't grief yourself about it and don't guilt us about it. You give us the freedom to be cooks and feed our families and not stress about stuff. It's how it tastes. It's whether you have fun making it. Please keep doing what you're doing. It means a lot to a lot of us. Especially now. Thanks to you and your family. ❤️🙏

I have tried to make my grandmother’s roast 20 or so times. I didn’t have a recipe, so was going my trial an error. I had given up, and haven’t tried to make a roast in years. We bought some beef from a friend and it included one roast. I wanted to try to make a good one. I tried this video. This was the best roast I have ever made. Thank you for your time and effort making this video. My grandmother passed away years ago. I didn’t think I would ever taste a roast like this again.

When I was a young cook I tried to make my pot roast taste just like my grandma's tasted. I called her and asked her how to do it and made it exactly like she said but it just didn't taste like hers. Years later I bought a cast iron pan and one day used it to make grandma's pot roast. That was it. The pan made all the difference. Thanks for taking me back to a good memory.

You used a Roasting Pan, not many people use a Roasting Pan these days. They act like it’s to complicated or takes to long. For me it is the only real way to make a roast, although I prefer a Rump Roast tied with Butcher’s string. You did a great job 👏. My Mother and Grandmother and Great Grandmother would have been proud of you. They only cooked a Roast in a Roasting Pan. You brought a warm memory to my heart around this Christmas holiday as all three women are no longer with us. It reminds me of better times. Thank you.

Since I come overseas, I start to do my pot roast with these fancy pot/slow cookers because on the island, we do it on the stove top in a Dutch pot. That is how my grandmother taught me to roast beef. Sear all sides in oil first and then keep adding one cup of water and flip until tender. Usual takes about 4 hours, but being overseas, I dont have the time to be over the stove for that long, but I miss doing it that way because it is me doing the cooking and not just the pot/slow cooking only.

Both my husband and I liked it he commented that it was a five star roast. I can't wait for the next time when I do it right and not cut corners!!! Thank you. P.s. Hi there, I borrowed your recipe and it was delicious, it’s definitely a keeper, I didn’t have all purpose flour so I used cornflour, it was amazing. Thanks for sharing your recipe. 👏💐🇦🇺

Thank you for your easy recipe. I cook mine in the pressure cooker and it taste excellent just the same, melts in the mouth like butter but not mushy.

Turned out perfectly. Loved by the most finicky eater in the house, my 16-year old.

I make roasts both ways but it is always better in a roasting pan in the oven, the veggies still take like veggies and the roast tastes like beef roast. In the Crock-pot, it all tastes the same......which is ok when need be. I usually make the gravy after I take the veggies and roast out. When we were kids, my Mom always put the grease on her potatoes, especially the leftover grease from fried hamburgers. She outlived my Dad by about 20 years, she just turned 88 in August so it must not have plugged her pipes, lol. I think the grease has the best flavor myself but I try to shy away from it, I think I have my Dads genes...... :-) Great video.

I’m a super wimp with spicy foods, but ever since I tried a pot roast with mild peppercini’s I can’t recommend it more. Gives a really great acidic touch 👍

I didn't think to make the gravy before you cook it. I typically made the gravy with the renderings after it was done. I'm definitely going to try this method today.

I like slow 👩‍🍳 cooking in the oven. I use to cook like that all the time. I even cooked baby back ribs. It comes out so tender. Now I use a crockpot.

Yay! I was looking for a recipe that didn’t use premade packets - almost all of them have gluten. This looks perfect, I can’t wait to make it! Thanks for sharing.
