I have been very pleased with this one, Dr. Bronners, though a great soap, was too drying for my hair but the sandalwood in this brand has been perfect. I am eventually going to make an herbal tea to mix with it like I do with the shampoo I make from my own soap to add even more benefits.
I had a friend that told me about Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap about 20 years ago. Great stuff! He used it for his dogs. He had one that had some creeping crud on its feet. He would put some on the dogs feet. Very medicinal and it washes clean. So he often used it for their skin problems...even mange type problems. I ended up using it to get tack (bituminous asphalt) off my skin and out of my clothes where tack got on them. I am an inspector in road construction. Tack gets everywhere. I even used it to spot clean my work truck, inside and out, wherever needed. I bet it would work as well if someone needed to spot clean roofing tar too, and other things! It is a wonderful product. I believe I will also check out the other brand you are talking about! Thank You for making and sharing this video! 😊 ~Sharon
That is odd. I had made a comment that I pinned to the top about why some people have issue with Dr. Bronner's and it has mysteriously disappeared....hmmmm. SO, let me explain again and hopefully this one will stay: (EDIT: I took out the word "pagan" because that was a misnomer) Some people take issue with Dr. Bronner because of some odd phrases that though I am unclear on their religious standing, it is still Baal worship by Biblical standards. Now, I understand some Christians choosing to avoid them as a result, however, EVERY company or person we do business with has some kind of religious belief and most will differ from our own. I have a number of followers who choose to support us in different ways including purchasing our hand made products even though they have a very different belief system. I very much appreciate this. I do not recall in the Bible where we are commanded to only purchase products from fellow Christians. On the other hand, as Christians we also know we need to be careful about bringing certain items into our home.
I agree. In fact. I have a bad feeling about many who claim to be Christians. Lol. Let the Lord lead us. With that said. I do like what I have used of Dr Bronners as far as the product itself. It just isn’t good for me. But I can say the same about a lot of things. Just because I like something, does not mean I just have it or use it. Love your stuff Heidi. Lol. See what kind of a muscle and joint ointment/rub you can come up with. Specifically containing arnica. When I finally get to retire, I am going to go back to making my own herbal and essential oil things. I did make my own soap years ago. Had to figure it out without internet. It was fun to make and fun to use and fun to give as gifts. I learned to have a lot of respect for lye in the process. Took the enamel paint off of my stove. And broke a jar that Inwas using to make the lye water in. It gets very very hot. Lol
@@BelindaTN If you are asking me to create a muscle and joint rub recipe that includes arnica, I already have: ruclips.net/video/JksJA5XGZ0I/видео.html However, I have also found adding peppermint (herb, not oil) to the oil infusion is a great option and that it works quite well without needing to add the essential oils I had used in that recipe but one could still add any of the other essential oils they feel will be best for them

While I have a good supply of homemade soaps for us, one thing I found when making them for our store is next thing you know, you are almost out and need to get more made and then there is the wait time. With as busy as things are here, I can see that easily happening if one is not paying attention to their supply so having a back up emergency stash is nice too but I have to say, I am really liking that shea butter for my face and the sandalwood for my hair. Perhaps one day you could recommend the best spray bottle as I have bought from retail stores and online and they all stop working properly or not at all in a month or two. Some even leak. So disappointed on all of them. I never put anything in them that was too thick or anything that would clog them up. They would fail even with just plain water. Grrrr!
I have mentioned in past videos some that I have found to be good, these are larger sized ones but what I use for many sprays including homemade vinegar: amzn.to/3xzNBa2
Oh I hear you, loud and clear, pure frustration! I have one from Branch Basics - tried their natural soap stuff once, it's ok, just a bit expensive- but their spray bottle still works. I need to look if I can just order some bottles there. Yes, the spray top looks to be the same for the $ 4 plastic bottle or the $15 glass bottle.

Do you have something you use as a vegetable wash, in cases where you need to buy produce at the store? I have used a packaged wash but would rather make my own. Thanks so much for all your wisdom!
I just use my homemade vinegar for that. Sometimes added to a sink full of water for a soak or I simply spray on full strength, allow to sit for a few minutes, then rinse
What is wrong with Dr Bronners soap? I have heard her hint that there is something wrong with it in past videos but she doesn’t say what. Do they have a bad philosophy? Bad ingredient?
There is nothing wrong with their product, it is the fact that they are openly pagan that some people have issues with them. Though I am certain most other companies are not Christian but are agnostics, atheists, pagans, and more. I personally think it is a bit silly to boycott companies over their religious beliefs. It is not like they are trying to force them on us. I am grateful that I have many followers that do not have the same religious beliefs as me but still choose to support my channel and purchase products from our store.
My husband prefers a 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner. Would you please help with that formulation so I can get him off of the harmful 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner? TIA 😘

Heidi hi ! Love using your Container for break bleeding jars for dry food storage! I have a question about Castile 🧼 soap….., Is Castile soap safe for Septic tanks and too load non HE washing machines? Thank you and God Bless you and Patrick
Hi Heidi, When you say 1 part soap, does this mean like 1 tsp? I'm just trying to understand this better. Do you use distilled water when making your dish soap? Thank you.
Here is a video I did on explanation of parts so you can understand exactly what that means as I explain recipes this way in many videos: ruclips.net/video/l864ack7VeA/видео.html No, I just use tap water for the soap
I had done research on Dr Bronner when you talk about it in a previous video and read that he was Jewish and thought maybe some didn’t want to buy his product due to his religious beliefs. I just went and read one of the bottles of Dr Bronners that I have in my cupboard. I think the grandsons changed some of the philosophies of the company. I will longer be buying their products and will Dr Jacob’s products a try. Thanks for the info about this alternative to what I have been using. God bless.

When I checked out the Jacob's website, it looked as though I had to pay with PayPal or Amazon Pay. I've never used either one of these. Can you guide me on how I can use my debit or charge card?
@@RainCountryHomestead Thank you! I'm not in a hurry, and while I want to support you, I sure don't want to support Amazon! Will place my order this week. :)
I bought the rose and Citrus & ginger from a UK based company. I wasnt impressed with the smell of the citrus as it has no smell at all and it doesn't lather like a high concentrated soap should. The rose smells way better, however again I have an issue with the concentration of lack off with these two. Maybe I got a bad batch? Thanks for sharing Heidi x
Interesting because I find it lathers much better than Dr. Bronners, however, you also have to understand that natural soaps do not have added unhealthy phosphates that give them all those suds you get in other types of soaps. This is why having a foaming dispenser is very helpful when using as a hand soap. But even using as a well diluted shampoo without a foaming dispenser, it has been lathering up just fine for me but then again, I am used to using homemade shampoo from my own bar soap that does not lather up near as well as the Dr. Jacobs
Does the citrus/ginger smell strong as this one has little or no smell? Maybe my expectations were too much, I dont know just thought it lather better. Thanks Heidi.
Hello👋 from the state of Wisconsin🙂I just found ur chanel because I was looking for a recipe to make homemade shampoo with dr. bronner Castille soap, I read what u say in one of ur comments I'am Christian and please can u explain to me what is it with this Castille soap..
It is not the Dr. Bronner's product itself but their religion and values they stand for. I suggest you look into yourself if you want to know. Start by reading all of the label if you have a bottle already and you can learn more here: www.drbronner.com/about/
They are pagan. Some people take issue with that but if we are to limit ourselves to only purchasing products to those who think and believe exactly like us, we will really be limiting ourselves. No where in the Bible are we instructed to only purchase goods from those who are Christians
@@catt8247 I was not aware either. I do not have time to check everything in depth😁 I have no idea how Heidi does it all!!!! But I have been happy with the Bonner soap. If I run into the Jacobs I might give it a try as well, but I really don't need more soap at this point, besides I still need to make some of my own😁
Main stream companies sometimes use countries that use child labor & commit crimes against humanity. Which is worse Dr. Bonner's pagan beliefs or child labor? God bless.
The reason I don't want to use d r b0nneR$ is because they donate 10% of the money to charity. Sounds good right? But there are 3 choices for the charity you want the money to go. Every choice is to a Left Political organization. I would love to help a REAL Charity that helps someone in need. I don't consider pushing a political agenda as charity. Thank you for an alternative idea. I'm going to research Dr Jacob's and most likely try it. I also plan on trying to make your homemade soaps. Thank you!😊
When I make my own herbal shampoo, which I DO have videos on, I add herbs that help with hair growth and I also have a video on my own recipe for hair growth oil so not sure what else I can talk about as far as that goes
I never saw Dr. Bronner as Pagan at all. The whole label is weird self interpreted xtian stuff. Always have been. I have more issues with their ongoing beliefs n some odd overly conservatives stuff but I can ignore xtian stuff as I am not. Not sure why people thing it is Pagan. Hm. However, for cleaning I like Bronner's stuff-especially the Lavendar n Citrus! I'm about to have dreadlocs done in a few weeks and I'll be using a mix of Bronners, ACV and Black African soap. Probably go back to bronners to have a clean all.
As I have said I have not read the label in a long time but remember there was weird stuff on there so I could be wrong. Some others said the same thing about not seeing evidence of paganism but the point was that it was some odd wording that makes most Christians uncomfortable.
Dr. Bronners had the strangest small wording on their label. Never gave it thought until someone told me to read it. Very concerning. For that reason I do not buy it.
Thanks for sharing the soaps, I chose not to use Dr Bronner’s, but will check into this one, still working thru my homemade shampoo from your video, my husband won’t try it either 🤷♀️lol, blessings

I'm not sure what it is but she did say something about religious beliefs in this video, I will have to look into it.
I personally didn’t find anything Pagan on the label and I AM a Pagan. Weird? Definitely.
My husband prefers a 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner. Would you please help with that formulation so I can get him off of the harmful 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner? TIA 😘
I use it as a shoe cleaner
Thank you, Heidi. I will give this a try. Working on my last bottle of Dr. Bronner’s.
Hello, so I have watched and saved as many of your videos as I can. I am learning about herbal medicine through you and another site. Along with some books. I am a nurse and medicine does not work. I am looking for the root cause and how to help my body and my family’s to heal. What books 📚 do you use to help determine which herbs to put in your recipes? Thank you for sharing your time and knowledge with us.
I should do a new video on books as a refresher but I do cover them in the first part of this video: ruclips.net/video/kNA5srbQAuQ/видео.html
@@RainCountryHomestead thank you 😊 I will watch and see which ones will work. I appreciate you. Thank you.
Heidi hi ! Love using your Container for break bleeding jars for dry food storage! I have a question about Castile 🧼 soap….., Is Castile soap safe for Septic tanks and too load non HE washing machines? Thank you and God Bless you and Patrick
Yes, it is as safe as any soap, likely safter as this soap is more natural.
Thank you :))
Do you only use your soap bar for shampoo, dr jacobs only or do you switch it up between the two?
I alternate but some days I only wash with homemade vinegar
Good advice, but FYI sandalwood is a vulnerable if not endangered plant and there is a lot of really bad abuse involved in that industry.
Hi Heidi,
When you say 1 part soap, does this mean like 1 tsp?
I'm just trying to understand this better.
Do you use distilled water when making your dish soap?
Thank you.
Here is a video I did on explanation of parts so you can understand exactly what that means as I explain recipes this way in many videos:
ruclips.net/video/l864ack7VeA/видео.html
No, I just use tap water for the soap
I had done research on Dr Bronner when you talk about it in a previous video and read that he was Jewish and thought maybe some didn’t want to buy his product due to his religious beliefs. I just went and read one of the bottles of Dr Bronners that I have in my cupboard. I think the grandsons changed some of the philosophies of the company. I will longer be buying their products and will Dr Jacob’s products a try. Thanks for the info about this alternative to what I have been using. God bless.
It bothers you that they are Jewish?
@@emmaemma9505 no. It bothers me about some of the other things that they have placed on the bottle.
Can I wash my face with??
Do you have a recipe for your shampoo with the bar soap you make
Yes, the video is linked in the description box
Can you use this in high efficiency washing machines?
While you can, I am not sure of its effects on the long run. What I actually use for laundry is this recipe: ruclips.net/video/FB4LDBZLoIU/видео.html
Hello Heidi… you said that you put a check mark for us to recognize that it’s you.. but where should we watch where your check mark? I haven’t seen any check mark yet .. thks!! People just don’t know what to do of themselves they’re bored!!! 🤯🤯
To the right of my name as you should see in this comment
When I checked out the Jacob's website, it looked as though I had to pay with PayPal or Amazon Pay. I've never used either one of these. Can you guide me on how I can use my debit or charge card?
You should be able to use your credit card but Amazon Pay is the quickest if you already have an amazon account.
@@RainCountryHomestead Thank you! I'm not in a hurry, and while I want to support you, I sure don't want to support Amazon! Will place my order this week. :)
PayPal should have an area where you can pay with a credit or debit card also.
@@thistlemoon1 Thank you.
Do u have a video on how to make conditioner
Just homemade vinegar rinse and sometimes I add some kind of healthy oil to my hair if it needs it after washing.
@@maryward633 The citrus ginger is a more light scent than the almond honey, the shea butter, and the sandalwood.
Hello👋 from the state of Wisconsin🙂I just found ur chanel because I was looking for a recipe to make homemade shampoo with dr. bronner Castille soap, I read what u say in one of ur comments
I'am Christian and please can u explain to me what is it with this Castille soap..
It is not the Dr. Bronner's product itself but their religion and values they stand for. I suggest you look into yourself if you want to know.
Start by reading all of the label if you have a bottle already and you can learn more here: www.drbronner.com/about/
I did not know that about Bronner what was their belief ?
They are pagan. Some people take issue with that but if we are to limit ourselves to only purchasing products to those who think and believe exactly like us, we will really be limiting ourselves. No where in the Bible are we instructed to only purchase goods from those who are Christians
@@RainCountryHomestead yes true I just wasn't aware. Thanks for the video I always enjoy you guy's.
Thank you!😊
This is the same reason why I do not purchase from Mountain Rose Herbs anymore.
You should talk about fast hair growth fortified shampoo to double hair growth.
When I make my own herbal shampoo, which I DO have videos on, I add herbs that help with hair growth and I also have a video on my own recipe for hair growth oil so not sure what else I can talk about as far as that goes
❤❤👍👍👍
Yes, and I have since learned more about them and their open support for abortion so I will not go back to that product
Thanks for sharing the soaps, I chose not to use Dr Bronner’s, but will check into this one, still working thru my homemade shampoo from your video, my husband won’t try it either 🤷♀️lol, blessings
It is like they are afraid it may just be too fru fru or something, haha
@@RainCountryHomestead haha my thoughts exactly 😂
Hand soap do u know the ratios
I did say in the video, you must have missed it
@@RainCountryHomestead yes i relistened thank you for all you do
Where is the green ✔ mark
It is not green, it is either black, grey, or white inside a circle to the right of my name. You should be able to see it next to my name on this comment. However, I have learned that not all devices show the check mark
@@RainCountryHomestead my mistake on the color, thanks for the reply. My device apparently doesn't show it.
Does it come in Gallons size
No that I have seen
