Dave, I’m not kidding. Someone or some company should take note of these and build something like it from the factory, even normal size would be half the weight of the beast pickup campers they sell. If I had a 10’ door on my garage, I’d put one on my truck.

I love your camper it perfect for anyone who travels alone. I just recently bought a 2024 Rockwood Geo-Pro G15fbs. The new camper is a great RV for short camping, but I want to build a truck camper like your #8. My vehicle is a F250 4x4 with a 6.2 liter engine with a 8ft bed. Thanks for sharing your videos, great work, excellant craftsmanship, excellent end product.

Ive really been interested in a project like this. As a woodworker this is the route id like to go. Although my ford pickup is about 70 years older than yours lol. Weight is clearly an issue as well as limited bed space. It would work well for both camping as well as longer adventures. Its been a pipe dream for a few years now

You have terrific ideas about the build and minimizing weight. One thing I would want is to leave the tailgate permanently down and make the camper longer.

Very interesting to follow along to see how you find this smaller form design balance. All in nature is a balance and your build looks more natural, proportional and yes, balanced on a truck comparing to bigger commercial units. Thanks for sharing. I am interested in a expandable design that provides space, improves gas mileage and driving safety, but this your latest creation has a very attractive form factor and is a piece of art.

2003, for our ExpeditionVehicle build, we used Vulcum 116 sealer-adhesive.
Over two decades full-time live-aboard, our Vulcum 116 remains soft and pliable.

Love the combination of practicality and graceful design. The ones I have made so far, are practical, and rugged, but not pretty like yours. I love that aerodynamics were well considered in order to allow for good gas mileage.
