I’m 5 days post op right now. Insurance covered my reduction 100 percent. Those of you who are thinking of having this done , look into your insurance company. My pain level was at a 3/10 and that was only the first day. I’ve been able to be active since the 3rd day. I think my recovery is def going better than I thought or expected because I didn’t have drains. I haven’t had any issue with lifting my arms, I’m def watching not to raise them but I’m not getting any pain if I have to pull my hair up or grab things off shelves. This was so worth it and can’t wait till I’m fully recovered.
@@katebridgers1083it was super easy for me. My doctor did all the work. He measured me and asked me some questions. Do you have back pain, do you get rashes under your breast due to sweating, and do you feel social embarrassment due to size ( something along those lines). They took like 400 ccs off each and I believe the min was 350cc for insurance. I had the approval one week later. I think the doctor taking to the insurance company def helped speed up the approval. I just made sure to express how much my breast size affected my daily life.
@@katebridgers1083 My insurance also covered 100%. Now there are a few hoops some have to jump through. For me though I had been complaining about the pain from my breast for years so I already checked things off their list like having gone to physical therapy, using topical creams to improve rashes from skin rubbing, wearing two bras to keep them up. So the minute I mentioned to my PCP that I was interested in the surgery she immediately wrote a referral and then I had my intake and the surgeon agreed on my need for the surgery and then sent a request letter to my insurance and a ,on the late I got the approval letter from my insurance. Now I’m in bed 6 days post op happy and recovering!! Good luck!!
Thank you for being so open, the women I know that had a reduction are not willing to be open and talk about it. Waited 10+ years to get a reduction, next month I am finally doing it!
I am a month and a half in. Very happy the way my breasts look unfortunately my anchor or the T mark opened on both breasts. They have just now closed. I also pulled a muscle in my right breast this week, Thought I was dying.😂 It is extremely painful, but was promised it wouldn’t affect the healing. Still regret nothing…best decision I ever made!
Im 28 and have wanted this since highschool! I just had my first consultation yesterday and I should hear back from insurance in a few weeks to see if they will cover it. Im currently a 34 F and desperately want to be at least a C. Like you said, I would rather have scars and feel confident vs carrying these insecurities forever. Thank you for sharing your experience!
I’m 47 and I’m getting mine done next week! 😮SOOOO NERVOUS…. I appreciate you talking about the scarring and the realities of looking at your scars as you heal. I am thinking that and the pain might be my biggest fears, but you talking about all the benefits have really encouraged me so thank you dear Cora. ❤
@@WildThings113 I’m 9WPO and I’m healing slowly. I knew pain would be hard but it was harder than I thought and for longer. Most would say they felt better by week 3 and for me my greatest time of pain was week 3-6. 😣 Wasn’t as easy as many of the ladies I’ve heard had but everyone is different. At least I’m much better than I was so staying positive is essential!💪🏻❤️🌈
@@WildThings113I’ll definitely say it’s not fun not easy but I’m proud of myself for getting through something so challenging. was just watching this video casually and then BAM! started bawling when you got to talking to the biggest impacts. i'm 5 months post op and already i agree completely, it's such a life changer. also as a european person, the price you mentioned is absolutely bonkers, i'm glad insurance could help with that, i'd hate for people not to go through with this solely because of money.
My consultation is in 2 days and I couldn’t be more excited! I’m a 48J right now and I’m hoping to go as small as possible. It’s been 5 years of chronic back pain and I haven’t been able to run in 2 years. I’m so ready to be done!
My surgery went from being months a way to being to being moved up two weeks away. I was scared but went through it and I completely agree with you! I am 6 days post op and you’re so right it is a bit jarring seeing the scars at first but also equal parts of happiness. I so look forward to buying clothes! No more embarrassment!
Mines next Wednesday! I’m so excited and we have the same struggles and this is getting me even more excited about it. I used to love to run and haven’t been able to do it in years! And clothes 🙃
that pricing is mental!! idk if it’s only different in the UK because we don’t have insurance but the most you would be looking at is 10k for a boob job or reduction, i’m so glad you had a good experience and that insurance came in clutch❤
I'm depressed I waited till I was old. Wanted this for years and years.. I have no idea if my surgeon I agood but she's going to batbwith insurance to try to get them to cover it. I'll do it anyway but wow. Your video is what I wanted to see!
Got mine done June 19 and still healing. Yes its sore and I agree with you on the scaring. Sadly in 3 months i do have to go back and do some revisions because sadly one side is bigger than the other and doesn't look aesthetically correct.
I’m 23, I’ll be getting my breast reduction surgery in just under 3 weeks, I’m quite excited also a little nervous. But I know this will be good for me!
$56K seems wrong… I live in Seattle and am paying out of pocket and I paid $14.8K. No surgeons in the city go above $20K from what I saw. But could be city dependent. Seattle is not exactly a cheap city though.
For some reason insurance is always billed more than individuals. For example, I just had my reduction and my insurance was billed around $100,000…if I went without insurance it would’ve been around $10k. Not sure why but that’s what I noticed
Congratulation on your surgery. I totally understand. I am just 1 day post surgery. I am 35 and have always been heavy chested for a petite person. But after having my son anf then breastfeeding, my breasts went from 32DDD to 32G. The pain and insecurities that come with it is too much. I am doo glad i got the surgery done. 56k is too much. One of my out of network doctors, that too in the Bay Area, quoted 16k. But thankfully, i was able to find a great in-network doctor, and my insurance covered it. I just had to pay the 20% copay
May 21th 2024 I had a breast reduction this was the Best decision of my life I’m on pain my boobs are swollen But I don’t care I’m not suffering anymore . Girl I followed you everywhere thanks 🙏
ahhh so excited for you! my biggest piece of advice would just be to go in with an open mind and be excited! just know that the surgery and healing process is so worth it
I had my surgery in this April I am little concerned about the positioning of my nipples.Sometimes they just pop out of my bra as I feel they are at bit on the topmost side than compared to the normal positioning. So just wanted to ask is it normal will the normal positioning will show up as the full recovery period is 6-9 months or should I be concerned and consult my doctor?
I’ve been denied twice by my insurance due to not having the breast reduction benefit 😒 I have to do out of pocket. $17.500k in NYC☹️ happy when it works out with the insurance for people as large breast are way more then just an esthetic thing.
