4 weeks post op breast reduction/ extended Abdominoplasty, already feeling like it was the best decision. Thank you for acknowledging the mental as well as the physical experiences of your patients who come to you wanting a reduction. I feel seen. ❤
Thank you for making this. I have my reduction in 3 weeks and while my doctor went through all of this during the consultation, it's calming to hear it again as the day gets closer.
I’m 58 and in the Uk and I am going to see a surgeon next Tuesday to discuss a reduction. I have put it off because I have ME, but I have such terrible back pain due to enormous breasts that it has become necessary. I was terrified before I watched this talk. I feel so much more equipped with good information. Thank you so much 🙏
You will likely find it is the best thing you ever did. The relief of pain and the heaviness is life changing. I have heard it many, many, many times. Good luck and please if you are comfortable share your experience we would love to hear it.
I really appreciate the details you provided when explaining the breast reduction process. There are not many recent videos regarding breast reductions.
@@DrWilliamMiami Thank you, after watching the video you linked I am more aware of the profile and results I am likely to have due to me having wide breasts.
Very informative as I am prepare for upcoming reduction. Thank you Dr William Miami who coincidentally looks and sounds exactly like the psych Dr on the show New Amsterdam ❣️
That's a very common story. Patients who undergo breast reduction are a very happy group of patients overall, because most patients who have a breast reduction have been bothered by their breasts since a very young age.
Great Podcast as I am about to undergo a breast reduction (and lift) I’d love more information about the Australian creator of the post op dressing as I live in Australia but I couldn’t find anything on your website? Many thanks Dr William!
Yes. All my patients having any type of breast surgery wear the Ogee Bra. It is a sterile bra and is placed at the time of surgery and then patients wear a new, clean sterile bra each day for the first 5 days.
@drwilliammiami Hello Dr I’m loving your content. How can I get an evaluation for a breast reduction. I has wide breast and I have lost a lot of weight from bariatric surgery. While my quality of life have improved my breast feel empty and now I’m afraid I’m not a candidate due to the low volume. Please let me know how can I reach out for a consult. Thank you so much🙏🙏
Sure. If you are in Miami you can call (305) 960-7511 to schedule a consultation with me. If you are from out of town, if you follow this link someone can get in touch with you and help you: drwilliammiami.typeform.com/to/w3YXsCAJ?typeform-source=linktr.ee
I have my breast reduction in 2 days. My surgeon told me she can't make take me from a DDD/E to a C. I see so many videos of woman who have larger and go to a C. I'm thinking of canceling. I don't want to go through the pain and have the scars and end up with D's.
I would meet again with your surgeon to make sure you are both on the same page prior to surgery. Perhaps that means moving your surgery to a later date but it is better to be comfortable with the plan before having surgery.
Thank you for your reply @DrWilliamMiami I decided to go through with my surgery yesterday and she was able to get me down to a C cup! I'm extremely happy!
I plan on getting a breast reduction probably within the next few years. I'm 5'6, 175lbs, and wear a 36G bra (down from an H cup). I'm on a longterm track to drop down to 130lbs (reached my current weight after losing 25 lbs). Lately, my spouse has encouraged me to get the reduction now as it would help me feel more comfortable, especially for exercising. While I agree, I'm concerned about the end result in regards to proportions and weight loss. Do you think it's worth doing now or waiting until I hit my weight loss goal?
A lot of times the breasts don't change with weight loss because all the tissue is breast tissue--in this scenario you would be fine to do it now and enjoy the benefits of having smaller, higher breasts. However, if your breasts are mostly fat than I would wait until you have lost the weight prior to a breast reduction because they will shrink a lot while you lose the weight. I would have a consultation with a plastic surgeon and they can help you determine the proportion of fat to breast tissue.
So I’m one of those patients who got a breast implant who originally have wide breasts. It sucks but also wish my dr would have told me this. I wish I would have done the lift instead.
Thank you for sharing this. That is the exact reason why I don't like to use implants in patients with wide breasts. They are not happy, but even more they commonly feel as if the implant is a burden to them--I would never want to perform an elective operation that ends up burdening someone and requires more surgeries all because they shouldn't have had an implant in the first place.
I can tell you what I tell my patients: to let the strips fall off on their own unless they are wet and dirty in which case I have them remove them. But it they are clean and dry I just let them come off on their own. The steri-strips are kind of like a splint and help take the pressure off the skin and help get a better scar.
Dr Iwas a 34D (110lbs) told my dr I wanted to be a B (small) bc they look too big on me and the back pain. Im 4 days post op and they still look big just lifted. Im very worried bc this was a major surgery and Ive made so many sacrifices to get this done😞 Do you think theyre swollen right now and will get smaller?

Very. Useful and interesting
Glad you enjoyed it. Season 2 coming out in the new year.
can a person going for breast reduction surgery get the recovery bandage/bra the Dr speaks of?
Yes. All my patients having any type of breast surgery wear the Ogee Bra. It is a sterile bra and is placed at the time of surgery and then patients wear a new, clean sterile bra each day for the first 5 days.
Can you do arm lipo or chin lipo when you do reduction and lift surgery?
yes

Absolutely, surgery is like a bruise it gets worse before it gets better hang in there😊
I got a question I want my breasts reduction do you need a drained
no
I think i have pus in my drain like the white part of fried egg now a bruise lumpy and a bit tough to the touch
I would see your surgeon.
Is there a specific age you would tell a woman not to do the reduction. Cause I'm 62 and I have put it off my entire life
As long as you are healthy than you are fine.
I would love to see an origami breast reduction video! Random Question: Do you Lipo under the chin?
I do do chin lipo yes.
Whats the best size to drop ur size to? Ive seen mostly large women who reduce their breasts end up looking like flat chested big men.
I haven't had that experience.
Why u don’t work on trans patients??
urghhhh, classic over used bullying question

Lol, I'm pretty sure it's more of a medical judgement than anything else 😂.
