Michael H. 😂😂😂 So nice to meet the first person to ever have a rude thing to say about MY surgery. That I did for MY health. Went through the process of having it deemed medically necessary by MY insurance, two of MY doctors, MY physical therapist, MY chiropractor. Maybe you’re noticing the theme. MY BODY, MY LIFE, MY HEALTH. If you would have watched any of the other videos you’d see that it was an extremely hard decision for me and I stand by it. What a callas person to suggest that someone would make this decision with no thought, care of medical advise. I couldn’t stand for more than 10 minutes at a time without being in agony, couldn’t exercise because of the back pain. I’ve never once said it was for a “look”, in fact I’ve said repeatedly I loved the way I looked but was showing early signs of scoliosis soooo…. Forgive me if I don’t consult you for any decisions I make about MY body in the future.
I’m on day 13 since my surgery. Try not to be nervous, it’s not that bad. For me the day home after surgery, take care to take your anti-nausea med for the anesthesia. The pain med was non-narcotic. I don’t know if it worked great, because I was pretty sore, then I took the “extra” narcotic med they gave me for “breakthrough pain. For me, it just made me feel terrible, hallucinating, really couldn’t sleep on in because I was unsure that my breathing had slowed down. I stopped that and just took the non-narcotic for three days with Tylenol, which what they suggested. The most uncomfortable thing I felt was really the swelling for the first week. It made me feel like my breasts were still huge, even though they were not. Even the bra felt uncomfortable. You have to wear it for six weeks too. My doctor said the swelling was because I was doing too much and not letting it heal, which now I am. After8 days, I felt a lot more comfort and it does get better. I really have a hard time looking at them, now, it seems so foreign and it will take along time for them to settle into normal. I’m expecting six months. I am definitely not at the size I want due to the swelling, as I want size B, but my doctor says I’m in the beginning stages of healing. I am very very happy, I wish I had done this 10 years ago. I think it was quarantine 2020 that started me feeling uncomfortable with them and noticed the horrid sagging due to dense tissue and not wearing a bra for a while. You will be fine and be happy though.
Update: on week four, still sore, you really have to rest! Swelling has gone down a little, more on one side. I forgot to as I had a nipple reduction, so that adds to the recovery. But still it is going to be worth it.!
Thank you for sharing your experience. For the swelling, were you bigger than before the surgery? I'm trying to gauge what size bra I should get for post-op.
@@Lita_213 no not at all bigger although it feels like the same, but I just am using the same size sports bra. They say get a compression, bra, which I ordered during the 1st week from Amazon and returned because it was too large. The key is comfort, without squeezing, check with your doctor though. FYI - my doctor did not do drains.
@@wildrosecece Thank you! My doctor wants me to bring 2 sports bras with me on the day of surgery (or buy his for $70 each 🙄). I was excited and a little nervous during my pre-op appt and didn't think to ask what size bra I should get. I'll definitely check with his office.
I’m a 36H at just 25. I have a hard time finding clothes and bras that’ll fit, and I hate the attention that my breasts attracts. I feel disgusted when I don’t wear a bra, but then feel sweaty and develop shoulder and neck pain when I do. They affect my quality of sleep. That being said I’m so scared to try getting a reduction. I get chest acne (probably from sweating while wearing bras), and I’m worried I’ll get an infection. Of course I’m also concerned that they will botch the surgery and I’ll be left with lopsided and scared boobs too.
I’m getting mine on the 28th of this month… am so excited… have wanted this for 7 years now. Thank you for this! 💛 I am so happy for you and all of the others in these comments!!!
I hope everything goes well! I just had mine two weeks ago. Only word advice I can give you is mentally prepare yourself for the bruising in the first week. It’s going to look worse than it is. And maybe have a back up surgical bra, the one I was given at the hospital was really uncomfortable with the swelling so having a back up that was a little more of a soft material helped a ton!
@@Jj-lm2we thank you for that heads up! Just had my surgery yesterday so when I can see the area more, I’ll keep that in mind. And I did buy a few extra zip up bras that are supposed to be good post-surgery so I’ll be trying those out!

Hi! I know this video is older but I was wondering when you were cleared to lift your kids? I’m sure it varies but can’t find a straightforward answer. My daughter will be 7 mos when I have it done and I love holding her sooo 🤣 real life advice would be appreciated. Thanks!!!
I really want to have this surgery but I don’t have the funds and I don’t know how to go about it. I’m in so much discomfort and can’t do anything about it
I'm getting mine June. I hate that I'm nervous. For the zip up bras, how did you did you determine what size to get to use after surgery? Sorry if weird question but I'll go from DD to C. So idk what size to help recovery thanks
Thanks for the great info! Any recommendations on the size to purchase for the bras? I dont want to get too tight, but want them to be supportive too - and hard to know what size I'll end up as! Thanks!
I Wanna get smaller boobs but I’m sacred but Is it possible to still breastfeed after a breast reduction? I’m scared if getting one because of it I wanna be able to feed in the future
Wonderful vlog. I’m curious did you get any fluid leakage from the incisions at any point? Had mine done recently and experiencing putrid smelling fluid leakage from both breasts two weeks post op
Hi! I didn’t have leaking fluid but I’ve known other people who had surgeries that this happened to them. I hope you were able to get in with your surgeon to get some help❤️
The caddy itself weights practically nothing. It’s very light weight. For the most part mine was in the bed with me keeping all my things together so I wasn’t having to move a lot looking for the remote and stuff. My lifting limit from my dr was 5lbs or less. When I carried it around the house it never exceeded that limit. I also had a couple for different rooms.
4 children?? Whaaaaat? Child free here and have my surgery in less than 2 months!!! Definitely meal prepping high I always do anyway. Thank you for the advice on all the items…I’m working on my list already

aaa i get mine next month! how was it?
@@bumblebea420 it wasn’t that bad, it was more so discomfort than pain. The worst part was having the drains
Just had my breast reduction 3 weeks ago… wish I saw this sooner but it still helps because I could probably still use a caddy and a tv tray! 😂😭
This is so helpful. I just booked my surgery for 2 weeks from now. I’m nervous and really wanted to hear from someone else who has been through it.

My surgeon told me to buy the same size as what I was already wearing because of swelling. They also put me in one when I left.
My sizes are same as yours. What size did u buy
What type of pillow would you recommend?
