Enjoyed these songs and music videos for years even before properly watching the series. Even out of context all their songs are incredibly funny, actually really good and surprisingly heartfelt. What a great series
A wonderfully unsubtle deconstruction of Roxanne, with all the (slightly exaggerated) hallmarks of The Police (seriously, if you listen to a few songs by The Police you'll see the Conchords are right on the money, just as they were for the Bowie song in series 1).
@@sethhager3067 'You don't have to put on the red light. You don't have to wear that dress tonight'.(Roxanne) 'It's a cold night, beneath the street light, there's a man whose pants are too tight'.(You don't have to be a prostitute) Yeah, you're right, they're completely different. I mean there are so many reggae songs which point out that it's possible not to be a hooker, that there are bound to be a few accidental similarities.
@@charabotte1 it’s absolutely a spoof of the police. Maybe not the same melody as Roxanne but it’s the same subject matter and same overall tone and genre as the police.
The only thing that makes me laugh more than this song was when I showed it to my dad and he was laughing just as hard, lol. I really wasn't expecting that... >.
WOW. Never noticed that Bret's jacket comes on in parts. And yeah, everyone.. It's based on Roxanne.. That's why it sounds so similar and Bret is singing in a Jamaican accent.
I think the best songs from this season have been the best of anything they've done but some of the shorter songs have just been stupid but songs like this one, Sugalumps and Too Many Dicks have been pure genius.
like most of flight of the conchords songs, they change their genre of their songs to be funny parodies. im pretty sure this one is supposed to represent Roxanne by the Police
this style suits brett's voice so much. Once again they nail another genre
Yep, Bret was pretty amazing.

"He goes to work with only his one tool" has lived in my head rent free since this show aired over a decade ago.
flight of the conchords always lift me up. feeling blue no more, thank you!
I lost it at "do you have any other skills like typing?"

This is the best reggae song I've ever listened too
The look of absolute disbelief that the pimp gives Germaine when he is getting paid in coins is is 100% hilarious!

I love when Bret sings... at all. XD

The part where Eugene is playing the steel drums is by far the best part.

I’m sure Sting took part in the writing of this song and in the part of being a prostitute
some one anwser me, is it 'work with only his work tool' or is it 'one tool'?????
4 years after listening to the GCN bloopers, I thought this song was made up. Turns out I was wrong.
@AusShinDig I think you might mean 4 words...
I don't understand why this song wasn't put on I-tunes.
its actually surprisingly close to the police sound haha
4 ppl have not put away their tools

Jemaine, You don't have to be, a Prosi-tute!
Anybody else watching this because community got Roxanne stuck in their head, which got this stuck in their head?
I'm nine years late but fuck yeah
Just so you know, Jeff, you are now creating six different timelines...
same love this song man jiggolo lol check out mermaids
FOTC0123, the lyrics: A male jigolo is spelt wrong.
It should be: A male gigolo
‘Do you have any other skills? Like typing?’
It has been.
I'd hire him.
It is NOT degrading.
🤣🤣🤣
what song is this a parody of lol ja ja
Roxanne I believe. and a few other tunes as a parody ha

First time I heard this song I immediately thought three words. The Police. Sting. Roxanne.
That's 4
2 people don't have any other skills- like typing.
\(- 0-)/
Uuuuuuuu~Whooooo~Uuuuuu~Uuuuuuuuu~~~
*I FEEL You Man...
2 people have never bought a prostitute.
Hahaha XD LOL
Works well too with paid Obstructors
this feels way too slow after watching the chipmunked version
like most of flight of the conchords songs, they change their genre of their songs to be funny parodies. im pretty sure this one is supposed to represent Roxanne by the Police
I wish the image quality wasn't so horrible..
Roxanne thing right?
haha, do you have any other skills... like typing?
Also, the lyrics: Maybe that would be a way if he lived alone.
should be: Maybe that would be OK if he lived alone
the police.........
Dan Lloyd’s rendition on GCN was better
