You should have visited the Metrillo and interviewed them.. They are really great gun builders.
I was introduced to Metrillo from another Filipino shooter who is also in the PHP military. His video features him having a gun made from scratch down to him picking it up from the store. It's a gun made to your liking. Period.
I dont know if this is the same gun, but Bro allowed me to shoot a Metrillo when i saw him at the range today. Great gun, but greater young man. I did'nt even know that i was talking to world champ, really a great experience at the range today.

Had a Para-Ordnance P16-40 that the Metrillo’s worked on in 1996-1999 sometime. It was awesome with “Bull” barrels, de-activated beavertail, Bomar sights, Wilson Combat triggers, custom serrations and grip checkering, turned stainless steel from black, 1.5 lb trigger weight, Mag wells, and other works including 21 round .40 magazines. This was my back up pistol as my main one was an STI Executive 2011 Modular that also had all the Metrillo works done to it. I remember that small shop in Merville, Paranaque by the International Airport. I wonder if they’re still in the same place.

It's interesting that most people want sights that are higher off the slide, but the front sight dot is flat down on the slide on this gun. What is the advantage? Sight down the slide? Easier to pick up? Also, it recoils like a .22. Sweet gun. How much does it weigh? How much in USD?

I have a Metrillo Gen 1 Limited, and I let some top shooters in the Bay area shoot it with their own ammo, and their jaws dropped just like that. They can't believe how flat the gun was. These shooters has top custom guns and doesn't shoot like the metrillo, they keep asking about the recoil spring system, they said I'm using a sub-minor ammo haha! 😆

About 4 million guns there now and half are unregistered and basically anyone can have a gun on them. There's even people there that make there own guns from scratch. It's deep in there culture and history. Oh and Filipinos looooove there guns like fr fr 🙄. Hope that kinda helps.

The Philippines is also a gun country, .45 ACP and 5.56mm. Filipinos are great shooters with guns legal and illegal. They don't practice on IPSC-size targets, but beer cans and bottles 75 to 100 meters away.
The avid shooters, military and competition, have a unique draw and presentation, and they can put our own American shooters to shame.
We have outstanding shooters in the US, but 'Pinoys' are world class.

Metrillo gun shop can turn a cheap Federal .45acp pistol into a shooter challenging expensive pistols. That was my experience back in the 90s. The federal handgun back then was popular among EP among AFP personels because of its price , a 1911 and a .45.

I was at the metrillo shop. They have 3 models from $4500- $9k with current exchange rate. The wait time is around 8 months. But to compare some Stacatos go for almost $10k in the Philippines if you can find one.

Security guards in the Philippines flag everyone with their shotguns. That is, barrel of the shotgun is downwards, but to a degree that may hit my leg if it fires.
