I went to a 28c for the same time saving issue. Then I needed a conveyor to get the wood away fast enough. You will find more bottle necks but that looks like a heck of a machine!
Great vid. Hands down the best investment is a 12k splitter? Idk. Depends on a variety of variables tailored to each person. Having a commercial grade splitter is night and day over a box store splitter but it just pushes the choke point elsewhere. If you don’t have a dump trailer, big saw, conveyor, skid steer/ tractor to feed it and handle that output then sometimes it’s marginal gains. I guess what I would say to someone starting out is don’t tie yourself down hard on the splitter if going semi commercial like say a rugged made frees up money for a dump trailer, saw etc then go full commercial later. My 3200 dollar rugged made is not as fast as WR but wayyy faster than most box store splitter. It’s got a log lift, sorting table, 4 way wedge, and good cycle time especially with a stroke restrictor. That being said I plan on getting a Wolfe ridge at some point but starting out I chose to go after gaping holes in my equipment line up like a dump trailer and 70cc saw. Having rounded out my lineup of equipment this splitter is next on the list. I actually plan on getting this exact splitter from WR. It will be the last splitter I’ll ever purchase.
Im in the same boat. with time. Right now I have a Eastonmade ULTRA and it's plenty fast and I can pump out some wood with it but got thinking how nice would it be to make 3 times the amount of wood in the same time. I highly doubt I'll be going back to Eastonmade for a few reasons so Im really interested in a Wolferidge 28SHO.
@@GtaFirewood I do it all myself but Ive become as efficient as I think I can be. I back my dump trailer right up to the splitter and grab rounds out of it then split and right off the end to my conveyor into huge piles. I think the most Ive done so far has been around 3 full cords in about 4 hours but that was grabbing rounds off the ground as well as the trailer so that slows me down after about an hour. The last few years Ive been lucky to get access to a lot oof free tree tops but that takes a ton of time to go get it, cut it then come back but I plug away at it all summer. I was able to cut and split right around 35 full cords to sell next year but hoping to add to that this winter if it doesnt snow too bad and would like to be at 50+
Nick nice to see you had the opportunity to upgrade to a commercial splitter. Your production will really go up my friend.
You can make a big pile quick! I’m already redesigning the log yard to make more space.
Congratulations on the new splitter! You are going to need more wood now! Thanks for the video.
Thanks! I need more space also. Will be working on that in upcoming videos.

Haha yep! I have a big pile of firewood in front of the splitter now.

I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Hope business is doing well for you!
Now that’s a splitter 😊 Better hire a helper to keep up with the log loading
Haha now my split wood just piles up in front of the splitter. Will need a conveyor next!

That SHO is a nice splitter! What issues are you having with the eastonmade?

@jandblawncare8570 thank you very much dear
Man I promise you that splitter is strong enough to push the wood off the end of the table lol. You don't have to use your energy to throw em all off
You have to throw them or you would be buried in wood in minutes, haha.
why did you make this video? What was your intention?
