I put all my splintery bits in an IBC tote cage for use in the backyard firepit. Sawdust, bark, and small splinters go through the hammermill and then onto the compost pile for soil remediation.
I put all of mine in the bladders. I make sure to drill holes in the sides and bottom so that they don’t fill up with water. I just have to get my burn barrels set up.
It would be a lot more convenient to just burn the pile on a rainy day, but I get it. I like how you positioned your stand to keep the plow trucks from filling up your stand. I’ve seen many not think about how it’s facing. I like your clean operation.
My initial burn barrel is not capable of keeping up lol but here in Oregon I just burn pile it. When I get my yard open and truck in logs I can only imagine how bad keeping up with the scraps will get, I will get tired of burning it in my stove quick
Wow!! That’s a lot of mulch. I’m blessed where I’m at. I can just burn my scrap. Lots of flat open land here. That air compressor is sweet. That would come in handy. I don’t need to do much advertising anymore either. Many repeat customers. Good stuff.
Wood like that can be sold for cheap, just to get it off of your hands and put a little cash back into your pockets. I have a customer that is on a budget. All she requests is my reject wood. I have a bunch of it available. I just keep it reserved specifically for her.

A good chipper is on my want list!

Unfortunately my township has banned outdoor burning. They thought it would be better to pave over a nice park and turn that into a mulching facility.
It's really nice to have a place close by to dump all the debris and junk because producing firewood sure does make a lot of it.
It’s surprising how much waste you get.
Hello from Clarion County PA. Great stuff, how much are your bundles going for?
Thanks! My firewood bundles are $7 each 3 for $20

A big burn pit to help manage the mess would be the way to go. Unfortunately we can’t have them in my township.

It’s very frustrating not being able to burn. A lot of townships in my area have banned outdoor burning.
Thanks for sharing what’s working with your tags. Why not have a burn barrel or mobile firepit to burn the splitter waste while you’re out working?
Unfortunately my township has restricted outdoor burning. I do use the fire pit but it would be hard to keep up.
I deliver to H&H every day for my job. They grind up a lot of brush every year
I will definitely be going back. It’s so convenient to drop off on a Sunday.

I will keep an eye out for those customers. I’m just happy to get rid of it and free up space.
@ I hear ya on that. It’s just an idea for those less fortunate customers. Or you can just give it to them.
Most of my scraps like that go to local veterans in need!!
How do you connect with them?
They should pay you for your wood, and it's not junk where I live in N AZ!
That would be nice!
