A great video Dave. Mana Pools is incredible. I will never forget seeing a herd of 300 elephants and later at least 1000 cape buffalo while on safari there in 2004. IK have done 3 more safaris in other spots in Africa, but I have never seen the massive herds of animals that I saw while in Zimbabwe at Mana Pools. Thanks to Nigel Robey, our guide there.
Hollywood action movies are far from this video! Incredible passion and dynamics. One of the best wildlife videos I've ever seen! Congratulations to the operator!
@@Pink8956 If you change the title to something like "Lions kill four buffalo calves in EPIC killing spree," that would bring more attention to it. There's a global community that loves lion predation, so a good thumbnail without _click_ _bait_ would also your video go viral. Best of luck!
At first it appears the buffalo have a pretty good strategy. Then it seems more evident that they are playing right into the lions hands. As long as they keep the buffalo stampeding back and forth the lions can pick out a calf or two. Great video. thanks for sharing
Incredible. I spent two days at Chitake Springs and four days on the riverfront. At Chitake, we saw a pride eating an elephant. Didn’t see the kill or how it died but still dramatic. Either way, Mana Pools is beautiful.
Our wildlife in Mana Zimbabwe is still very wild. Unlike some i wont mention where the lions pose on the roads and are so used to traffic they wont even move when you blow the horn😂 Best of all the roads in Mana arent tarred/paved it's as natural as africa gets No queues of cars and hundred camera shutter sounds when a leopard is seen lol The other place where it's so commercial its practically a zoo will remain nameless for now😂😅😅
Great video! If only the buffalo herd would react aggressively in the first instance....but that's how God planned it and the animals follow their instincts. All the major problems in our world are caused by us humans and then we have the gall to call the worst among us 'animals' - what an insult...
Thanks for the video! Loved It! I didn’t see 4 buffaloes killed, maybe I missed something. I did see almost kills and then one actual calf killed. I saw that one sub adult male Lion too. Where did he go because it looked like 3 lionesses on that one calf killed at the end. Thanks for sharing!
While I was filming, I thought I saw 4 buffalos killed, but there were more. The two wounded calves (that appeared to have escaped in my video) made it up the opposite bluff with the herd but one of the male lions could not resist the sight of wounded calves, sprinted up the hill in a flash, and killed the calves. When the dust settled, we counted 7 dead buffalo calves each with a few lions sitting on them. There were 30 lions total, all with a meal that morning. I did not have a close enough view of the 7 carcasses to include them in the video, plus it would have been even more graphic. I was afraid the video was too graphic to begin with.
Buffalos tried hard as much as they could to defend the youngsters. Lions managed to secure a snack, even if a muddy one. Poor calf had seen its' last day, one or two more calves might have been seriously injured. Cloud of dust was Incredible.
Absolutely amazing and breathtaking footagevof the relentless life and death cycle of mortal enemies, one the predator the other the prey. Tough big strong sharp horned black death. They deserve a massive respect. The other the lion my most beloved feline brethren big the wild living a tough live hard life taking opportunity wherever to get food to survive. Beautiful and sad tough and breathtaking
With that many bovins, they could have easily chased those lions away. They probably did not had a mature bull leader in that herd. They mostly looked like cows.

Amazing footage. Good day for Lions, bad day for Buffaloes.
Thank you Raj. Sometimes a buffalo herd can make it a bad day for lions, but not this day.
Buffalos tried hard as much as they could to defend the youngsters. Lions managed to secure a snack, even if a muddy one. Poor calf had seen its' last day, one or two more calves might have been seriously injured. Cloud of dust was Incredible.
How do Buffaloos survive when their calv3s are such easy prey, there were only a handful in th8s pride.
This is the true meaning of kings on the land of the savannah. Look at the dust that flies because of the entry of majestic buffaloes.
I love how the herd came back ! They look after each other
often extremely ineffectively and stupidly. My favorite is how they "defend" the young buffalos sometimes.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😇😇😂😂

yup. I did not see a bull
just mothers who would charge lion to save their kid
So much unity between buffaloes, but we humans are cowards, only self thinking....
