No, it does good for a Z7, but Z8 has too much weight. The holeshot would be pretty slow. For a Z8 200 is pretty much the minimum and most people put 225 and up.

just put one(mercury 150 4 stroke) on my 2012 nitro z8 .. running mid 50's.. fast enough for me..
