- Lil Wayne is back in the news for the wrong reasons. In a nationally televised interview, Lil Wayne lashed out at Nightline host Linsey Davis when she asked a question about his daughter which apparently wasn't approved. Lil Wayne ranted that he was not connected to the Black Lives Matter movement and ABC News, after furious attempts by Lil Wayne to block the interview, released a clip that went viral earlier this week. We discussed Lil Wayne's comments and his reaction here. Let us know what you think about his comments and if Lil Wayne was wrong and out of line in how he behaved.

My opinion: One of the things BLM believes is that black people are being oppressed by society. Wayne's argument is that if he can be successful as a black man, then how are all black people are oppressed by society?
The way people are treated and perceived has more to do with class than race.
Jarret Padua its easy to give black people money and now they feel they equal when actually blacks don't have no power.
Habeshaman
More black people are in poverty than white people, but that doesn't mean they aren't able to get out of poverty, and that doesn't mean they are being oppressed into poverty. It's true that they were put into a situation of poverty in the past, but there is no law that is stopping any poor person from becoming successful. The majority of business owners and successful people got to that point because of the work they put in, not their skin color.
I looked up the 90's crime bill, it doesn't even address race.
Stop and frisk affected the races that committed the majority of crimes in the neighborhoods that had stop and frisk, those races being black and latino people.
None of the arguments you presented prove that racism exists. I would argue that since black people make up a large majority of poverty stricken neighborhoods, that's why they believe they are oppressed and stuck in a rut. Lower class citizens are more likely to stay lower class, that's for every race, not just colored people. Lower class people are treated differently to upper class people.
The argument is that people of color are being oppressed by the system. Name me a law that still exists to this day that is racist in intent, and we will agree. Otherwise, we will disagree.
Greenwood, Tulsa.
You're wrong.. Sorry.
Round Box Are you talking about the race riot that happened in 1921?
You can't be talking about that. How could you even attempt to use that as an argument for racism existing in mass scale today?
Jarret Padua just because Jim Crow Laws were abolished, didn't mean every KKK member converted to PC liberals lol. They'll stay ignorant, spread it to their children, and in the public space, will just be derogatory. I think you're talking about systemic racism, not casual racism in the streets.
People need to stop playing around with rappers daughters.
MGK can relate
@Mr. Noname Exactly
Wayne is a legend..
Habeshaman well to a lot of people he is..
Prab Singh he's a hero for this.

SABA - BUCKET LIST.
Willuminati Photosynthesis tho
Willuminati One of the best albums this year
Shit is fire!!!
+Nils Bellarts photosynthesis is The One. im will fountain btw lmao
Honestly, I agree with the movement and what BLM stands for and what they are fighting for. I just have some issues on how it's run as an organization and some of the people who are apart of it. That's just me
Brandon Standifer Smart man.
Organization? Shit isn't even ran as an organization. Its all about individuality
@@Hunteryateslook at what happened with the mansions that's just one example of people using the blm *organization* for personal gain and agenda. Blm even supported Jussie Smollet *after* his trial.
This aged like shit 💀
STOP giving Lil Wayne excuses. He played himself!
Pshh, wayne was prolly high during that interview tbh
+Habeshaman it wasn't . At all .
He's been high for a big part of his life and over the years it's been affecting his behavior more and more.
You guys should do a convo on Donald Glover's show "Atlanta". There's so much to talk about with a show like that. You could spend an hour discussing the episode "BAN" alone.
gotf Sounds good
"When shit hits the fan is you still a fan" - K. Dot
I may be totally off, but what I hear from Lil Wayne is that he thinks that the police shooting someone is fucked up and the BLM movement ain't helping.. That this is about police being corrupt and not BLM.. (I don't neccessarily agree, but this is what I got out of the interview)
yeah i also got the idea that Wayne is saying that Black Lives do matter, and he is a living example sitting right in front of another living example, since they are both living good and no one is necessarily getting in the way of their success or lives by being racist towards them.
but i would agree with Wayne that BLM isnt helping, i feel that it further divides us. the core message of the movement IMO is fine, but the way they execute and they way the go about is not fine.
+Chocolate Milk Exactly. People are too stupid to get his point and say he's just "high and saying dumb shit". I understand his point, 100%.
***** yeah i hate how they made excuses about him making a point that they dont necessarily agree with by immediately saying he was either high or being a smart ass, rather than someone just speaking his mind.
lmao he literally implied racism doesn't exist, and thought using how he himself (a millionaire celebrity musician) is treated as opposed to a normal person, by white people was a solid example of how
Hypercaste i see it as he implied that racism doesnt exist on the level that the media is portraying it to be
lol I don't know why but the thumbnail looks freaking hilarious
Sober Hippy he looks triggered.
Hair filthy
Who cares what lil wayne thinks at a time like this?
Where's Ja?
What kind of time is it right now?
Dylan JL Monk best comment I've ever seen
Right! Nightline primetime interview at that
So fucking lame
Myke at the beginning like ...
"Dead End Sports... shiieet I showed up to the wrong shoot"
Lil Wayne has said in 1 of his songs last year. "Police they done killed enough of us, Stay out them streets cause they dont fuck wit us, We in a race against races thats a color run"... So he shows hes socially aware but maybe the lean messed him up bad. Sad how he changed but hopefully he can get back to how he was. He also had songs like Georgia bush, tie my hands and so much more.
Sad how yall use "Wayne just an entertainer" as an excuse to let him off the hook for shit like this, as if he not a black man with black kids of his own. No wonder this culture gets laughed at ...
I dunno, you ask Bono about world hunger, not Sammy Hagar. I mean, maybe I'm wrong but if you asked Smashmouth their opinion on the Crimea you expect them to not know shit.
+Mr. Seemingly Expected They still are a part of this country. They have a platform, it's still relevant.
Truly Makel "this culture" gets laughed at cause y'all sheep and when an individual doesn't follow the flock y'all hate on him/her..gtfoh!!
+J Inkwell In a sense you are right. In this context you are sorely wrong. Wayne is a fucking moron. There's a difference between having a logical opinion that is different, and flip flopping back and forth for popularity and selfishness. Black Lives Matter is an important movement to Black Culture in modern times. It'd be asinine to be a black person in America and not understand the Message solely because of lack of exposure which is essentially what All Lives Matters is. I do agree that in certain aspects, the Black Community is definitely filled with sheep. However in this Case no. Black Lives Matter is about as Important to this generation as Civil Rights was to my Grandmother.
TheShutYoMouth yeah i totally get thay part, though you can't blame him for not having a typical black man expirience,he's saying things from his own perspective, his own reality,or would you rather hear invent stories to make black people feel better?? plus not to mention that blacks kill them selves continuosly,if the black people of America want to start solving their problems they should start from their "community"..
Wayne's just toying with media. Guy has some conscious tracks like Georgia Bush.
To the whole DEHH
Get a hold of the big picture and get your heads out your asses. All Lives Matter!!
Like pac said let's come together and build a nation but some could never comprehend and do that.
Man its a pity that u just dont realise how ignorant ur comment is.
I didn't know that the "alt-right" were such fans of hip hop. They're all through these comments, 😂
You’d be surprised
Ken got a TI-84 for a phone
Lil Wayne is outspoken. I am not supporting him this time, but he is not active on social media so he doesn't see everything the regular people see all the time.
What do regular people see all the time? Justified shootings?
justified? against unarmed black men?
Hugh Mungus Regular people like you and me see all kinds of news stories and events online. Wayne just watches ESPN and skates all day. He isn't as social as the young people today.
Dead End Sports Conversation
Mike is a foool!!! The "leprechaun" shit towards the end had me rolling Lmao #Peace
'Why do people care about Lil Wayne's opinion'
Proceeds to be in a 20 minute video discussing it. Okay Myke.
+Yoji Oh...sure. Next time the guys wanna talk about something that I don't care about I'll get up and leave. OK, Yoji.
"What the fuck is wrong with you Ken" 😂😂😂
To see how far the production came along... its a beautiful thing to see. The show looks so polished now from where it began and I wish nothing but the best for this channel!
There's venom in Beezy saying, "What the fuck is wrong with you, Ken?"
Kinge said welcome to deadendsports and I had to look at the icon to make sure I was on the right channel, threw me for a loop for a hot second.
"Welcome to another episode of Dead End Sports" HAHAHAHA
Little wayne is 33 years old! I can't make excuses for a grown ass man.
Jay I agree
"I don't want her to wear yellow" lmao
it's funny myke cause talib kweli defended wayne on vladtv
Yo 16:15-16:45 had me dying 😂😂
It's easy to dismiss Lil Wayne, however this ignorance is deep in the community.
Weezy a low key genius I swear
"Yeah, it's a bit childish...but I'm a rock star; I'm paid to be childish...."-Noel Gallagher, circa 1995
Innoscents - Damone Tyrell
Thanks DEHH for introducing me to this guy
Fantastic discussion. This is how everybody else should have taken Waynes comments. Nobody should take him seriously about his comments on BLM. He's always been an asshole during interviews. And Nightline clearly baited him into that question.
Nobody should have to agree with his comments nor should there be this much outrage.
Only reason his comments made me say "huh" is because not too long ago he was on stage talking about black lives matter. Dude needs to hop of those drugs. It's turning his brain to mush
Man media strikes again. Hope people that were mad at Wayne can please understand the whole situation
Thank God was getting bored at work
I feel you. That being said, you should've put a comma between "God" and "was". Your comment makes it like there's an actual person named "Thank God". The idea of a rapper named "Thank God" sounds funny as fuck to me.
Joseph Daniels shut cho technical ass up
iLLest Tv Chill bro. I wasn't hating on the dude. I even made a joke about it. Lol
Joseph Daniels W
Joseph Daniels usually I'm on point with my grammar kinda just typed it fast lol
Lil Wayne vs. Chocolate Droppa was perfect for Wayne.
Wayne been on drugs so long bruh, we're really paying attention to what he has to say about social issues? He's rapped about racism, two months ago shouted black lives matter, and now he doesn't know what racism is and was clearly on one in that nightline interview lmao.
MrGNugget this is so true
MrGNugget he was trolling
lizzy rosario how ?
It seems based off this article, it's more like he was trolling especially if she tried to come at his daughter
Beat sounded like someone playing ping pong in the back round I couldn't handle it
At some point in every convo, Myke says “what did you fucking expect?!” Lol
yo rod, how come you guys haven't done no 1080p videos? they look clean already but still
I think Lil Durk would say something about black lives matte. The thing about Drill artists is that they rap about violence but they're still sorta conscious at times especially dudes like Bibby and Herb.
He speaks all the time on black issues such as 'if i could' although BLM is a racist false narrative. look at any statistics
+J Cole lol j cole fans
Movement ended faster than a black person on ancestry.com
Modest Media used the word "cohesive" and Feefo look up at the ceiling like "Dear God, please don't let me fade this nigga."
People who agree with what lil Wayne said probably:
1. Don’t know much about Lil Wayne
2. Don’t know much about BLM but assumes they’re bad because the internet said so
But why he mad that was a legitimate question?
Jack Carver Plenty of people have daughters and have used or use the words bitch and hoe. Most men or a good majority would be hypocrites then.
Lol. Its hilarious at this point how blacks think they all have to have the victim mentality or they have to find all these reasons as to why they had his opinion, then say why even care. He was serious this was the second interview he said the same shit, the interviewer kept trying to get it out of him and he wasnt giving in, then got pissed, got backlash from SJWs like DEHH, and just said fuck it ill apologize because he dont want to deal with all the whining, and still wants a career.
Zee It's hilarious how White think Blacks have the victim mentality when in reality most of the time they are legitimate victims.
Zee Suck At Life Know You White..
Zee That comeback was shit bro
Khamau Mungu M'Kombozi English?
The Dancer Genos Cool. Whyd you comment then? because you care and want me to make better comebacks? Ok. Thanks bro.
First reviewing the wrong album, and now introducing the wrong channel. Ken fucking up 😂😂😂
foreal lmao!!!!!
Ken look like he holdin a calculator
I'm not pissed at him for his answer. A little disappointed, but not pissed at him. I do get how some media places exploit situations and make POC look stupid, but I think we gotta be careful when we assume that a certain type of rapper or poor person won't have anything insightful to say about topics like this. Sometimes people can be more educated/informed/opinionated than they may appear, and they'll end up adding something substantial to the conversation. So I'm not against asking seemingly shallow people for their opinions on stuff like that, even if it comes up short a lot of the time. Also, everyone should be accountable for what they say or do - that includes Wayne and the interviewer.
i died at the intro
Can someone tell me the music in the background in the beginning of the video? Please please
ABC Nightline saw Wayne as manipulable. Lil Wayne is a caricature, he's already explained why he's NOT a model minority representative to disprove factual underpinned prejudice in a past interview; " [black lives matter protesters] they wouldn't want me to answer that. They wouldn't want my answer to represent it [race relations in the US from what I see day to day in my life] because God knows I've been nothing but blessed. My whole path, these 33 years have been nothing but a blessing. I have never, 'never' is a strong word; I've never dealt with racism, and I'm glad I didn't have to. Idk if its bc of my blessing, but it is my reality. Not only, I thought it was over, I still believe it's over, BUT obviously it isn't... We have a bunch of differences, people feeling this way, people feeling that way; when you come to a person like me my answers are always the same, my politics, my country, my flag, my nation, my world, all that is Reginae, Cameron, Neal, and his brother [his daughter and 3 sons]" (/watch?v=IhfB_QWy4DA) After watching this interview, then the Nightline one, woooh, you can see where the stigma-reinforcing narrative derived and why it directed to agitate an African American artist, with a huge white fan base.
It was interesting to hear yall talk about Wayne not having the same perception of reality to other people. In his raps, he talks about stuff thats not reality. Lines like comparing his car rear to his career, comparing needing cream not sugar in his coffee to his money, and him saying hes a Martian like hes out of this planet. He seems like the only rapper that uses a lot of figurative language where he gives non human objects humans abilities.
your videos are one of the few places on the internet where i'm guaranteed to laugh my ass off at some point
how did I know they was going to make a video about this
I'm not really surprised that Wayne said that, based on the fact that he's always in his own little world.
" Oh my God I wonder what Ja Rule thinks about this . Where is Ja ?!? "
King Kese "who cares what ja rule thinks at a time like this"
Wayne was chanting black lives matter at the concert back in August, because a local New Orleans comedian @mariodacomic.. had made a bounce song called black lives matter. That same comedian performed at the concert that night. So Wayne was just singing the song, which is why it may have seemed like he was mockingly saying the phrase
i couldn't find any better explanation than yours guys y'all the best fo real fo real
I'm surprised you guys don't have more subscribers
Forget Wayne, can somebody please call Ja Rule?
Malcolm X WHERE'S JA?!
HELP ME JA RULE!!!!😂😂😂😂😂
Y'all need to review common new album " black America again" asap
Why would anyone give a damn about what a celebrity says.
13:32 Lol! Mike seems like a fun dude to chill with. He always makes me remember some funny shit.
I remember a while ago you made a video about if rappers should talk more about these racial and BLM issues in their music. The general consensus between you guys was yeah they should because they're major issues in America which was fine. But now, a rapper comes out and goes against your opinions of BLM, no one likes it. The point is is that people are constantly race baiting and a black man like Wayne has not had problems with racism in his life but that's not good enough apparently and he must've been acting like a "smart ass" and "why should his opinion matter, it's just Lil Wayne". Nothing wrong with what he said at all
Ur white, SHOCKER!
Gaits Maria Legae a well articulated response
Lil Wayne is constantly shown abundant love from white people. i don't blame him for thinking racism is over. Its a bit ignorant but at the same time i understand.
Why does kens phone look like a ti-84 😂😂
I think BLM intentions are good but just the way a lot of people in the movement go about it is what makes it look bad and I think that's why many people outside the movement thinks its toxic
Lil wayne actaully uncle Ruckus 😂
Are we getting a budden review?
0:52 He was about to say the cubs won the super bowl lol
Y’all are just mad Lil Wayne actually made sense and called out black lives matter for being full of shit
Crazy how years later Wayne us on the other side of the question that set him off
His eyeballs were like 100% pupil in that interview
Honestly some of his comments about BLM were pretty intelligent and coherent. His main points as to why he thought racism was basically over was the diversity of the crowd at his shows, how there are thousands of examples of successful black people in the US, and how it was a white cop that saved his life when he shot himself. But I agree, we shouldn't be really concerned with Wayne's opinions and I think even he would agree with that.
I wish the "Black Lives Matter" movement cared about black lives.
love this guys talk conversation guys, New subscriber here Ojai
Welcome to Dead End Sports 😂
I like that you guys are uploading more. Keep it up!
That's strike 2 Ken lol
That's exactly what they do on twitter
"He was very cohesive"
Myke face whahahaahhahaha
Since yall been doing alot of Lil wayne lately, u should do a throwback review on Tha Carter 3
everything Mike said i agree with...why do value what wayne says about a political issue?
Just when we were starting to forget about you listening to the wrong damn album, 45 seconds in, you introduce the wrong damn show.... Ken, you never let me down, lmao
Exactly what I was thinking. I...don't...give...a...fuck
rod's snorts cut through like fuggg

Sergio Vazquez they have jobs, that's how they met
He was perfectly fine. He was very cohesive.
