Last month Azealia Banks' twitter was deactivated after racist and homophobic tweets. We share our thoughts on the situation.

I knew exactly what Myke's stance would be and I agree. Being exposed to the good and bad things people say are a part of having Freedom of Speech. I don't want to be sheltered. Opinions and beliefs that you don't agree with may be stupid but they should exist with the ones you belief. Twitter has a report function. You can help make these accounts get suspended/terminated. Banks was shut down because she caught mass media attention for her tripe. Twitter was reactive on their own there.

I disagree with Myke on this one. It does make a difference if you have a larger following. It's not like Twitter has people sitting in a room screening reported tweets. It's automated. If I have 5 followers, I'm not well known and the likelihood of me being suspended for saying something that breaks ToS is low. If someone is famous and they say something that breaks ToS, more people will see it and more people will report them.

I feel like Kinge actually has a point. Just remove all the racists and other hateful dudes on Twitter who have a *history* of being malicious. One or two offense aren't enough to prove you're toxic to the platform, but if do it over and over again - if you prove you're very malicious on a constant, then yes I'd say the platform is better off without you. I don't understand Myke's argument, life has consequences. If you do something bad, something might happen to you as a result. A few bad apples being taken off the site because they couldn't keep their toxic nature to themselves on a repeated basis is nothing to cry over. That's just them getting what they deserve..
