I dont hunt but my lab flushed out 7 pheasants today in Iowa on our trail walk. She is almost one. I came here to just see what flushing is all about. Thank you.. enjoyed this!!!
Great job bring him along slowly.
I miss my pointer so much . I do enjoy watching all of your training tips . Keep up all the great work.
Aww so cuteeeee. I love Labrador Retrievers...
Thanks for watching!
great to watch him progress from the first bird to the last.
Great video, love watching the light bulb come on over a young gun dog's head. Only thing I do different is mark my planted birds with a surveyor's flag...
Thanks for sharing. We don’t use the tape because dogs can learn to key of the visual. We want them to learn to use their nose!
how often are you doing this more advanced training compared to the early obedience training ? Love the videos cant wait to get my pup soon!
Way to go Sprig!!!
Good video and great instruction, but having a little trouble not getting nauseas. Lots of bouncing and jostling the camera made it tough to watch. If you have any sort of image stabilization, that would be appreciated.
Agreed
If I may, with flusher, it's a good thing to allow them to smell, see, chase and catch a bunch of birds before going into hiding them. Building a really positive/intense flush comes from the confidence that if they move in quickly they will catch it. Just like with your pointers, even if it wasn't on purpose, using negative punishment will encourage more pointing.
Excellent 👌
Thanks for watching!
Cool video!
It’s hard to take you serious without your pink gun! 😂
Do the Chukar recall like pigeons?
I'm working with my lab to point.
How did you get a live chucker??
A Chukar breeder!
Any vids on training older dogs to become retriever and flushers?
Will or can your flushing dog also retrieve the birds ? Or is it better to have two dogs
A German short haired would’ve smelled and pointed 15 yards away.
Question for everyone. I'm considering getting a labrador/GSP... what are the odds you think the pup would point?
Brad D I’ve been upland hunting over my 2 year old gsp for a little over a year now. With nothing other then my own training he points and holds all on his own. Very smart and picked up on hunting quickly.
Literally 50/50 lol
Can you guys get a steady-cam gymbal for your camera person?
Hahaha it’s on the list! Sorry for the poor camera work!
I am new to this subject. If dogs cannot see the color red, would you recommend the trainer to tie a small red ribbon to the bushes that have the training birds in them (i.e. to make it easier for the trainer, himself, to remember the correct bushes)?
Yes we do this all the time
what choke
Disregard the other comment I found this video how does a bird fall asleep within 5 Seconds once you put his head under the wing
