- Here's a rare treat. The amazing cornet player Shaye Cohn proves to be equally amazing playing piano with Tuba Skinny on Royal Street in New Orleans. This is the Dallas Rag. It's on their newest CD Owl Call Blues available for download at tubaskinny.tk/ or it can be purchased at www.louisianamusicfactory.com/... November 10, 2014.
Thanks Mr jazzbo43. Видеоклипы
I’m amazed every time I see a video, they are all just talented like crazy but Shaye, damn girl simply amazing. Going to make sure I see them in person. You can tell the music just flows out of Shaye. Love her.
Shaye is like a music angel! Love her and her music!
I really enjoy Tuba Skinny. So much life to the group and I love that each ones gets to do a bit of a solo so that you truly see all of the talent in this group. So entertaining and I'm really loving this group!!
Very talented, natural musician ,and leader.
Shaye, du bist die Beste. Und deine Truppe ist absolut Weltklasse. yiieeeepieeee.
Shaye, you are the best. And your team is absolutely world class. yiieeeepieeee.
Always a treat to see miss shaye on piano thanx
People standing around and not
even tapping their toes . It is amazing that so many folks are
completely dead to this infectious
joyful rhythm !
Wonderful skill and variety....what a talented bunch...lifting my spirits in these coivid days David McCabe Dublin ireland
This should have at least one million "likes".
The great Shaye Cohn....Grand Daughter of the late great Al Cohn.
Yah!!!!
I am spending half this Sunday afternoon listening to and watching you lot. Thank you.
WOW, this girl does it all...
Her name is Shaye Cohn
The washboard player .brilliant
Shaye's awesome . I am forever amazed at how most of the the on-lookers have no reaction at all - just stand around like a gaggle of "dead souls " .
Many venues experience the same....when I play bluegrass on the square, when spectators come through a Living History camp I'm at. It's like they wear gags and straight jackets.....
It"s a AMAZING!!!!!!!Just beautifuul and such as essentiall Shaye!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Shaye!
It is always a treat when Shaye plays anything.
Shaye Cohn aways beautiful 😍😍😍
Love Shaye on that piano!
The unchallenged, high standard continues.
Loved this one .
I do like the girl dancing, very good.
Cornet is great! I like more the trombone style when he plays with the 'section' than solos...clarinet yeah! I love the percussion and rhythm section 😂 Great band! Great!
Shaye Cohn and Tuba Skinny are a real threat to the Ulcer/Medical/Industrial Complex ! I love you Shaye.
It's one of the first (?) times that she's playing both instruments.
What seems rare here is Shaye playing both cornet and stride piano in the same tune. Otherwise this is mostly Tuba Skinny being predictably wonderful, with some great dancing thrown in.

Excelente!!!!!!!!!
Although I am on a live performance jazz weekend I still prefer listening to TS on U-tube. Aren't they just great? Hope they visit the UK before I " kick the bucket". In the words of the song, you are my reason for living..... well, 2nd reason, I've a good wife! Keep up the good work, from a couple of wrinkles!
UK visit - yes please
I think they are touring France in 2023 might be worth holidaying there at the same time, that is my intention anyway.
bello- bravissimi
Nádhera, díky.
blijf goede spelers goede ritme op dat muziek danste ik 64 jaar geleden in nieuworleans
訳 私は64年前にニューオーリンズで踊ったその音楽の良きリズムを保ちます
Shaye est merveilleuse !
Love it. L.G.
Very well
when is Tubba Skinny coming to California again ? today is Wednesday March 16 2022
such a beauty, Shaye love i never had.
I love Shaye tinkiling the Ivorys l
Shaye Cohn, the multi-instrumental titular of the group, providing eye-candy, frequently along with Erika Lewis doing 'plain voice vocals'. What could be better than this.
As far as I understood when Michael Magro is on board the band is called Loose Marbles. Therefore, I believe the Tuba Skinny name is incorrect here.
This is for sure Tuba Skinny. He is just sitting in for Craig Flory which for some reason is absent. AND - at the very end Robin Rapuzzi says "...we're Tuba Skinny...".
They can do no wrong in my book :-)
Track title???
What do you suppose that fella on the sidewalk in the blue shirt and his wife had for lunch?
Not exactly a 'rare' treat. I remember seeing it here before quite some time ago.
Ha, well done! You're perfectly right. This video was shot by jazzbo43 a couple of years ago.
Roman Zlatopolsky couldn't forget it, its the piano with the flying keys!
SHOULD HAVE BEEN HEAR HEAR
who ever is clarinet player , still needs to listen to MAKIKO and learn, as a reed player myself (clarinet and soprano ) she has taught me a lot and I have played alongside the Really GREAT Monty Sunshine . For me the best reed players CURRENTLY are MAKIKO , KENSUKE SINTANI AND MASAHIRO GOTO all from TOKYO
Ewan Bleach needs to come back. That's real class jazz clarinet/sax & piano
So what?
CLARINET PLAYER NEEDS TO TAKE LESSONS FROM MAKIKO TAMURA IN TOKYO ,
You're so right. That's Craig Flory, 55 yrs old. I'd love to see Makiko with them.
Lou A : Guess again, that's not the great Craig Flory. Looks to me like Michael Magro, who founded Loose Marbles back in the yr 2000 Marbles is a band that greatly influenced and helped give birth to the current trad jazz revival.
Among the folks who broke in with Margo's band were Ben Polcer Shaye Cohn, Charlie Halloran, Aaron Gunn, Tomas Majcherski, Jason Jurzak, John Rodli, Robert Snow, Jon Gross, Dan Levinson, Alynda Lee Segarra, Kiowa
Wells, Ryan Baer, John Royen, Peter Loggins, Robin Rapuzzi, Joseph Faison, Matt Bell, Max Bien-Kahn, Jonathan Doyle and Meschiya Lake.
You're right, of course. I just didn't look close enough. Neither gets my vote as a brilliant clarinetist.
Check out Dave Bennett.
