This a style commonly referred to as "stride" piano which developed in Harlem and spread from there. Shaye is excellent on both the piano and the cornet and shows great artistry as the leader of her traditional New Orleans jazz band, Tuba Skinny. She is also a gifted arranger and composer, as well as being easy on the eyes.
