George Lewis was very popular there, in the fifties. Only found this last night. 74 this year, and a Kid Ory fan for 60 years, wonderful music. From the UK.
Agree, and this from a guy who was a regular at the Hall during George Lewis' tenure. She mirrors his phrasing quite well. She has obviously studied him.
@@harrybeau1712 The first part of the tune the piano player is terrible. She seems to have never heard it before and is seeing the chart for the first time. Then she shows her ability. Her last solo is excellent.
@@markhorton3994 that just happens sometimes, last week The same thing happened to me with this song I came in on a session at my university as the newest member and the leader drew the chords on a whiteboard then immediately started playing.
Brilliant! Shaye Cohn from Tuba Skinny adds a wonderful dimension to a superb, gifted band with a sensational clarinetist. I do wish they would smile and signal that they are enjoying the music as much as we do! All the best to a very gifted group.
The phenomenal bliss of every face is proof for sure; that music does bring us all to our best selves, it is in these moments where we all resonated true beauty, in syncopated harmony. In my kitchen, I did plea along with them all. loud and with as much bliss as they all did resound on that day, straight to the Lord to "hear my plea".
of the many things i love about Japanese culture is how open and interested in everything the rest of the world produces they are, on top of their own marvellous culture...
Oh Good God . . You kids are really awesome . And play the most beautiful music of the last century ( according to Dr Hans Rockmacher . Professor of the free university of Amsterdam ) with a zeal and soul I admire . Keep in the gospel and claim your reward in the sweet by and by ! Love you all ! From Kenneth
I Love You Guys & Gals !!! And this is on my top ten Favorite Praise Songs or just anywhere anytime songs. You did this so Gloriously, Greatly, And Beautifully. Thank you All Very Much !!! May GOD Bless You And Keep You Posting these Kinds of songs And Your style of Music !!!
I LOVE this. IT is so talented and also so unique to see a Japanese ensemble doing it soooo well. Thank you Shayne! This is very very good and I have sent it to my family and freinds.
These good people clearly love what they are doing. That is really what music is all about and that young clarinetist just put a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye.
Wow, I've been watching these guys play because I got really into this music through Tuba Skinny. Didn't know they had played with Shayne. 凄い。びっくり。本真に。嬉しいになった
Wow! Our friends Asians are not known much for music of this genre but they put a spin on this one. Well choreographed and embellished with all the frill, ornamentation and embroidery. Wonderful Copenhagen! Well done. Marvellous.
Very talented group of musicians. JAZZ especially the N.O. Style always sounds like New Orleans, it really doesn't matter where the Music is played? Japan, Sweden, Canada it all sounds good to me.
First time I heard this played by George Lewis, OMG he was amazing..that was in Manchester England in the sixties, prior to that I have most of his music on LP's and Still play them regularly.New Orleans means Music, Passion, and ability to bring out the best in people. Today's 'popular music'aka noise doesn't even qualify as music.
Shaye Cohen guesting. Most encouraging to hear Trad of this quality from the Land of the Rising Sun. Music the universal language right enough. Great group. 👍👍❤️ 😊
Excellent performance I wish all of you the best you guys. You are so great. I would love to have been there in that intimate gig! Thank you for posting this and congratulations to all of you. I will share this wherever I can. Thanks!!!!!
As Dad would Say--"What a TONE!!!!" ...WOW. You guys have it. I heard my father-s recordings hundreds of times, and you capture the Tone he was talking about. Oh My God.
Loved it shaye...
Shaye Cohn .... Soul and artistry. A fine band, a fine arrangement. Made my evening even more beautiful. Thank you all.
What a super version of this song, may the good Lord Bless you all. Very well played everybody!
THE ONE WHO SHOUTS AND INTERRUPS THE SINGER . . . Uuuuuffffff......
The clarinet is out of this world ... incredible.
Brings tears to my eyes! One of the most wonderful renditions I have heard in all of my 75 years!!!!
Agree
You are 80 now, is that idea still the same for you?
Who'd expect this kind of Bourbon Street type of music issuing from the land of the rising sun? Wonderful stuff! I'm sure Chris Barber would approve.
クラリネット奏者の名前を教えて下さい。素晴らしい演奏ですね。演奏の中に引き込まれそうになります。高音から低音に掛けての広域なハイレベルなとっても気に入っています。演奏スタイルに惚れ惚れします。😊
Tamura Makiko

From another side of the world: Beatiful! Make me cry, touch me so deep...God bless all
Thumbs way up to our brothers and sisters in Tokyo. Great job guys, and gals!
Like the banjo player singing from his heart ❤️
Stumbled across this in 2020. Music is the universal language. Thank you to my brothers and sisters in Japan.
I come back to this again and again . Brilliant. It's where I caught the Tuba Skinny bug.
Thanks for this music to bring us closer to God.
Amen. We ALL ought to be singing THAT prayer.
Shaye you and the lass on the Clarinet just blew my mind absolute magic ( Melb Australia )🐸
I've listened to this same song from various artists for about an hour now and I like this one best.
Shaye Cohn of Tuba Skinny fame, and a great little band from Japan. Sweet sounds!
Wow, good to hear that there’s even a little New Orleans in Tokyo!
Excellent !
Love that Shaye....she plays always fantastic.
One of my favorite songs. This rendition is fabulous.
Most impressive. Perfect pitch, speed, very, very nice. Most beautiful Trumpet Player, too. FANTASTIC

my eyes

i wish the whole world could come together in this way. maybe one day...
this particular genre of music seems to carry the power to unite not only generations, but cultures too!
only through Jesus, the earth as we know it will never have peace until sin is gone
When it comes time for me to go, to leave this earthly plain, I hope that they'll play this song.
How beautiful. Blessings from California.
