The traditional instruments that they're using are:
Shamisen - the banjo-like string instrument
Wadaiko/taiko drums - the traditional Japanese drums
    Koto - The horizontal harp
Shakuhachi - The flute. And who doesn't love a traditional flute in rock music?
Shigin - Not an instrument, but the style of singing that Yuko (the singer) is doing. She's a master and teacher of this style of singing, though it's actually a traditional way of reciting poetry.
The band's name, Wagakki, means traditional instruments. Each member is an expert in their instrument, many of them having won awards, teaching, or having their own bands outside of Wagakki Band. They are insanely talented.

I believe the mask is a type of Noh Mask and depending on where you view it from vertically it has a different expression. The actor can therefor tip their head back and forward to change the emotion of the mask.

Beni is playing the Shamisen, an instrument that is at least 1000 years old. She has 4 for each concert tuned for the songs she will play. Yuko (singer) was the catalyst for the forming the band. Their purpose is to introduce Japan's youth to the traditional musical instruments of their country. They are all recognized as Masters of their instruments. They are actually more popular in Japan than Babymetal!!
They have performed in the US and there are interviews with from that time.

Shamisen was brought in japan in 16th century.

Glow sticks at a Wagakki concert.
Glow sticks originated with Vocoloid music (Miku Hatsune, an anime type character using Yamaha choice sampling software, which later turned into live 3D hologram shows) who for some reason would carry a green leek. Hey fans started taking green glow sticks to her concerts. Other Vocoloid characters developed their own color glow sticks.
Since all Vocoloid characters are created by voice samples of real people, those people also have the glow sticks of the characters that use their voices at their concerts!
Wagakki band started out doing Vocoloid covers, so as part of their live concerts you're going to see plenty of glow sticks of various colors!

The bassist (Asa) is also a producer for Vocaloid, and he (Yeap, he's a dude) wrote some songs for Vocaloid (Mostly known is the song Yoshiwara Lament), which later covered by the Wagakki Band during their early days. So maybe that explains it

From France: Beni plays the Tsugaru shamisen (shamisen which means 3 strings) and the pic she uses is called a "Bashi" and is made of two parts, originally in ivory for the body and the tortoiseshell paddle.
The large horizontal zither is called "Koto" ...
The bamboo flute is the "Sakahuatchi" and the traditional percussion ensemble is the "Wadaiko" ...

Well actually, Originally, Bekkeu bachi were made from tortoise shell... You would not be able to play with a fan. A geed bachi made from acrylic will cost anywhere from around $100 to over $400. A high quality professional grade one can go well over $1000, however since the tortoise is protected in many countries, and their numbers are decreasing, you might not even be allowed to buy them...
