Homemade Cheesy Hamburger Helper Ingredients:
1 tbsp butter
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 lb ground beef
1½ tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp ground mustard
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
8 oz tomato sauce
2 cups beef broth
2 cups half and half
1½ cups shredded Colby Jack cheese

Love the story about living in the village and making chef Boyardee. Reminds me of when I was little and my grandmother used to make the canned spaghetti and mix it with hamburger. She used to like to put American cheese on top of hers. It was so simple yet so delicious!! Man I miss her! 😢

I had to stop watching you guys for a bit, am on a diet right now. Missed you both, so I checked in, and you're making something I really like, and even better, it's HOMEMADE!! I also like the Stroganoff hamburger helper. As a kid, my Mom was a homemaker and cooked a lot, she rarely made us Hamburger helper, so when she did, it was a treat for us kids. I'm definitely going to be giving this one a try on Wednesday. I'd never heard of Hamburger Helper before today, but you had me at "simple" and "tasty" and it looks like a perfect mid-week after work recipe. I'll let you know how it goes.
