Excellent video. The bald guy from Brazzers knows a lot about bicycles. Mr. Johnny Sins is very smart! :v 😀😅😂🤣 Greetings from Chile! :) 😀👋🏻🙋🏻♂️🚴🏻♀️ 🇨🇱
THANK YOU! I just learned about these remote shifters and was looking for a "how-to-instal" so thank you. Also, I dig the handy cutting you did to the bar tape on the right shifter. Thanks for that idea.
Thanks for the video. I had a pair of clics laying around for a while and finally wanted to install them but could not find the ports. The instructions only told me about the blip box so I was afraid I missed something when ordering. Did not realize those bright read pieces are the ports. :) I actually wanted to sell my unused clics after hearing about the wireless ones but they will probably not be available before next year where I live. I think I will upgrade later because I want the ability to easily take of the areo bars when packing my bike for flights abroad. Thanks again, helpful information. Cheers.
tell me more please - I'm looking at a setup that is similar to Shane's for my gravel bike but the money... force should be slightly more affordable right?
I got the RLT 9 RDO five star build with the Force AXS 1x over the winter and love it. Unfortunately I'm finding that the 1x is a compromise with this bike and want more gears. Now I have to wait for the wide front derailleur to become available. Need to replace the chain ring and cassette as well. Niner should have offered this as a 2x from the factory.
The blips do the same thing and can be installed anywhere on the bars. I’m guessing these might be a get around to mount them on flat top bars cos the blips seem to be designed for round bars.
Thanks for the nice video, I still have a question about the MultiClic Remote Shifters: Is it possible to use only one MultiClic and shift up/down a 1x drivetrain with long press or double clicks?
Shane did you find the new shifters affected your hand position at all? Also I noted when you were playing, er, I mean testing the shifting that the system shifted quicker than my past experiences with SRAM etap which were comparatively sluggish. How have you found the shift speed vs Di2? Thanks
Are you happy with the placement of the shifter relevant to where your thumb is when riding on the tops? Seems far away from the stem, or where your thumb falls naturally. I am riding 42mm bars and would prefer the shifter closer to stem. I am guessing the 150mm cord could be too short?
Yup. I like watching people install the most expensive pro stuff on their wife's bikes. What's wrong with standard mechanical shifters. As I recall people don't wine about flying below sound barrier even when we can go multiples of that sound of speed
Multiclics will not work on the 2022 Trek Checkpoint SL6 etap Rival AXS . You have to get a blipbox for the multiclics and then you lose the function on the shifter which sucks. So If I wanted it to work as stated on video I would have to get SRAM Red or Force shifter. Neither are cheap.
All dictionaries have modified their definition of the word "expensive". Now they have a picture of multiclics along with a link to a random retailers eshop.
It's complicated with AXS. You can have the lever change up and multiclic down, but that will unassign any up/down function of the opposite lever. If you then reassign either up/down to that opposite lever, it'll unassign that function from the other lever. It's not as customisable as Di2 in this regard.
Hello Shane, I am planning to install eTap blips on my road bike which is having SRAM Force eTap AXS Groupset. My question is will I need blip box ? Or I can simply install it the way you did ? Thank You. Rahul🇮🇳
I have both (and a pair of clics). The blip buttons are basically designed to be operated by your thump. They are harder to press and you must hit the button at the correct angle to make the shift. Multiclics require less effort and can be operated with any finger easily. The felling is identical with the clics.
No... but it’s not as you’d expect with the options. Up on the right, down on the connected Multiclic is possible but will disable the left shifter. I’ll need to tinker with this some more... and get a BlipBox to find out what’s possible with that.
Yep. SRAM eTap has this built-in. Just pair your head unit to the system and configure the field. The SRAM AXS Web can also make use of the recorded data and track your gear usage in time/watts etc. It's on the cards to cover here on the channel.
Anybody aware of a strap to secure these that wraps around your bar just outside the bartap? I have 40cm bars so they would have to close the stem. I was hoping a strap like you see on lights and then run the wire under the tape.
Having a new bike built and coming from DI2 Ultegra to SRAM AXS Red. On the DI2 I can custom program the top hidden buttons on the shifters to change my Garmin page on my computer. With this SRAM Remote Shifter, is there a way to program the functionality of them to do the same with my Garmin Computer?
@@gplama Thanks Shane. Well that is kind of disappointing. I'm going to miss those "hidden button" from the DI2. Maybe SRAM is listening and they would come up with a solution at some point down the road. Again thanks!
How much easier do they have to make it to shift? From the tops to the hoods shouldn’t be that difficult regardless of the terrain. Maybe voice command is next.
The biggest problem I see with these is that they connect to SRAM shifters, which in turn, connect to SRAM Hydraulic Disc Brakes, which I abhor, for several reasons....

@@inspiredtotired8369 "Stem" 🤣
These came out after I built up my gravel bike with AXS but did it with the SRAM blips in the same location. Worth the upgrade.
I never liked the look of the blip box, but these are now on the list of things I can’t live without.
THANK YOU!

Very cool, and actually not ridiculously expensive. Might consider this for my Revolt.
I'm very tempted by a set of these!!
Waiting on Force ETAP AXS Wide to trickle in piece by piece. Psyched for Summer on my new Niner!

Nice DIRT kit!
Is there an Aspero review coming Shane?
Damn, another toy than I want ;)
Still no option from SRAM to control a cycle computer, I miss that from DI2
The blips do the same thing and can be installed anywhere on the bars. I’m guessing these might be a get around to mount them on flat top bars cos the blips seem to be designed for round bars.
I wish there was a smaller / alternate blipbox for the TT bike, tt aerobar end(s) + wireless rear derailleur

will you make a full review of your new gravel bike
soo cool! Is it possible to setup eTap to navigate between Garmin screens similar to Di2?
Nope. :(

I'd place them in a similar position as Shane did so I could still fit the clip-on tri bars for longer excursions...
Everyday something new to spend money.

would you consider replacing the multiclic with the Kommander buttons if they were able to control your garmin/shifting?
I have a Kommander here. And no, as it conflicts with the eTap wireless function that I use to record gear data (and get low battery notifications).

Rival AXS has no ports on the levers to plug into. Wireless Blips are a cheap and compatible alternative.
All dictionaries have modified their definition of the word "expensive". Now they have a picture of multiclics along with a link to a random retailers eshop.
Can you program the multiclic to do the opposite of the paddle shift? So you can do up and down shifts one handed?

The SRAM AXS components compatibility map says it'll work like shown here on my Red AXS levers.
@@gplama Thank You. Have ordered one from Pushys
Will these work with the first gen. eTap or just with the AXS?
Yep, as long as there's a port to plug them into. Compatibility should be up on the SRAM website.
Is that a very White table or is it a green one?
It's a white table... and my colour correction is all over the place.... I have to sort out a better overhead shot setup.
What made you choose multi clics over the blip button?
The round buttons look hideous.... and I’d rather a button like the other setups I’m using.

Why it’s named SRAM? Same system shimano does not exist ?
Is that black Nitto tape your using?
I think so. Just cheap tape from the hardware store.
Can you install only one blip or satellite shifter? As in just one on the right side for sprinting.
Yep. Just one works.
@@gplama Thanks!
Hi, does the new button have to replicate the action of the lever it’s plugged in to?

@@gplama control axs dropper post on a 2x setup?
@@dominicfrascella8537 Maybe. I don't have an AXS Dropper.
can I have the buttons only? without the shifters from the drop bars ?
The buttons are simple switches and need some kind of 'brain'.... so either a lever/shifter or BliipBox to plug into.
the packaging is ridiculous
Can I control my garmin with them?
You can now. With Edge x40 units.

There's no hook/tabs on the Clics brackets that make this work. I'd go with flat zip ties or something similar.
I am not sure if the 150 mm are too short but the 450mm seems too long. Anyone who is using the 450mm?
Same question here. I'd like the buttons closer to stem than where he mounted here. But 450 is a ton of cable. Splice?
Shocking the amount of wasteful packaging used. SRAM should be ashamed!
Don’t cry
At least it makes for a nice box for photographs and souvenirs once I installed my clics.

My days of PBs and caring about FTPs are long gone :)
Will these work with original Red eTap? Thx.
Yep, spec sheet says they will.
