He is aiming to genuinely surprise Christians, who in immersing themselves in the Bible, can easily forget or not notice the sheer intellectual brilliance of Jesus, which would stand on its own right, even if you were to put His divinity aside. Having now read his book with the same title, I would say he succeeds, and would recommend picking up a copy. I guess the title could perhaps have been better? But it doesn't detract from the points he makes.
