    That roof blade antenna is typically found on the bellies of light aircraft, tuned for 118 - 124 Mz. When a truck is running around a towered airport they have to be in contact with the tower/ground control to get permission to cross runways and taxiways. There used to be a mobile radio in that truck.

    My dad had a 1992 F350 crew cab with a two tone paint scheme, dark blue with silver. Loved that truck. That Bronco you shower is awesome and I love the color. Grandparents had a 1990 two tone tan 2 door Bronco that I wished I still had. Great decision swapping cabs and doing it right by painting the entire cab inside and out. It’s refreshing to see someone on RUclips actually do a restoration the proper way. It’s wonderful you got to work on it with your sons something I try to do with my son all the time passing on what I’ve learned through he years just like i did with my dad at his company as well. Been restoring trucks, cars and tractors and building oilfield semi trucks since I was a kid. Started learning to weld when I was 12. Rebuilt and did a 24 volt conversion on a D6 Cat that someone had painted hot pink but we repainted it cat yellow. Great times!

    Hey guys great video as usual, the White blade that you're looking at on the roof you will probably find out when remove the headliner that has a coaxial connector on it that's for communicating with the tower when they're out on the ramp when they're operating on the Air Force Base. So if the truck was used on a civil airport that antenna blade will be tuned to 108 to 136 MHz but more than likely it is set up to operate on an Air Force Base military frequencies of 225 to 400 MHz, the use amplitude modulation and pretty much every military aircraft uses these UHF type radios.

    • @williambeckman6900
      @williambeckman6900 Год назад

      The antenna which is inside the fiberglass cover appears to be about 15 inches long which indicates it is the aircraft VHF model, 134 to 142 mhz. There are shorter versions about 6 inches long, for 3 different frequency ranges in the 406 to 520 mhz spectrum.

At 18 I was 6'8 and didn't take no more guff from my brother, but I still respected his marksmanship he shot a fly on a target at 200 meters even have the target with the fly guts on it, he always had the last say.

    I'm in the metro Detroit area and was privileged to witness some of the prototype and preproduction development of ford's trucks. lifting the cab and fender assembly as a unit was a standard service procedure, put the truck on a lift, unbolt everything underneath lower the truck reset the lift, raise the cab and roll the chassis forward to service the driveline/engine components and then reassemble, actually faster and less likely to damage the body/paint. Use the clean Texas cab, Canada doors if they clean up good. Swap out the upper firewall pieces by drilling the spotwelds and separating the panels with a scraper. Odds are the welds are in the same places on both truck,s so alignment is easy with an icepick
    Check VEHCOR's channel for the easy way to remove and replace panels at the factory seams for an undetectable repair, he builds totals for resale and shows how to replace panels like the factory builds the vehicles

    "No, the trailer shop is not open"... I laughed way too hard when you said that. Rust sucks. I've changed many cabs over the years due to rust. You said it right, it could be patched up but it's never the same. If I find a rust free cab for my dodge, I'll gladly take the time to swap it vs patching. And that's saying something considering I'm a body shop technician. Great video!!!
