Agreed! As I was heading towards Italy it would have made more sense to head South but I decided to take the Northern Green Velo instead which is a nice cycle route indeed!
Welldone Gianni, thats a good distance and really only two mechanical failures isn't so bad I suppose. I think the weakness on most bikes is the derailleur gear system but at least that is also relatively cheap and simple to fix. You were fortunate with the weather in Poland, here in the UK I am preparing for months of gloominess and cold lets hope with the occasional sunny day til Spring returns :) Safe travels Sandy
Thanks! Overall given it was October I was extremely lucky as it can be already bad up there. I suppose I had some bad luck with a couple of components failures that I was not expecting on a decent quality touring bike which was pretty much new... It is all a learning process and in the future I will have to improve a thing or two.
Another great video, thanks Gianni. I love the autumn scenery in Poland and I'm pleased you had some sunny weather so you could enjoy your time there. Good luck with wherever you are heading next - may the wind be behind you!!
It was a wonderful place to ride. Really enjoyed the peaceful Green Velo roads and trails. I have since returned home as I ended the tour in Stettin, which I find impossible to spell correctly in the Polish way! :) Cheers
It's a shame you didn't do it on a Brompton. In the summer I rode the entire Polish coast from Świnoujście to Krzynica Morska along the lighthouse trail and it was wonderful.
It is, and in some ways I missed it as I was so used to the setup on a Brompton. Only thing is that I would not have been able to carry what I wanted for this trip and thought over 5000km on a Brompton would have been too much for it.... Even a touring bike in the end was not perfect with 2 unexpected mechanical failures along the way. Poland has some really nice cycleways up there. Greenvelo was most enjoyable too.
Kind as always, Peter. Generally, I wouldn't say it is, but things are changing in Poland, with more cycleways being developed and cycling becoming more popular. The route I followed, called Green Velo, is possibly the best cycle route in the entire country.
Overall weather was good! I had a fair bit of rain in some places but I tried to avoid cycling then if I could... ;) Tour is now over and have returned to Italy since. Thanks!
Sorry to hear about your mechanical mishap. The cinematography and narrative are great. Hope that you are able to resume your journeys as soon as possible.
Thanks! I feel I had some bad luck but I guess it is inevitable to have setback while on a long tour! Hopefully next spring will be able to do more of these ;)
@@BromptonTraveler Bad luck and good luck only come to those who try. The one is inevitably followed by the other. I have explained it in other videos. The gist of it is that this trip was much longer with quite a bit more luggage to carry. I thought a regular touring bike would be more reliable and easier to repair. In the end, maybe with a bit of bad luck, this turned out to be not the case :)
Piękne video. Obejrzałem z przyjemnością
Cheers! Very nice country to cycle.
What a beautiful and tranquil route you chose through Poland. Thank you for sharing 😊

Fantastic effort Gianni! Beautiful Poland😎❤Sorry to hear of the mechanical, but as you say, it was maybe a sign🙏
Yes, it was a very interesting country to cycle and visit a little. Green velo was well worth it.
No to przejechał Pan spory kawał pięknej Polski.

Indeed. Really enjoyed the Greenvelo route.

Many thanks! Will need some rest in winter but hope to be able to do other longish tours from next spring or summer. Cheers!
A wonderful video yet again, and seeing familiar sights in Poland was a treat. Pity about the mechanical issues, you're on the home stretch now!

Odważny jesteś jechać w taką pogodę 😉 Pozdrowienia z Polski ❤
Not at all! Some are able to cycle through winters...but then they are usually much younger than I am! :)

Mesmorizing production. Thanks

Are you finished touring for now ?

@@bgochicoa How wonderfully written and heartwarming! I deserve 1% percent of the praise and I take it! Cheers
I expect you to buy a G line Brompton for your next Adventure!?
I am going through quite a lot of changes right now and I don't think I can justify the cost but one never knows! Cheers
Just wondering why you do not use the folding bike now ?

To nie jest Brompton! Poza tym Brompton to miejski rower, na takie wertepy nie nadaje się. Mam eBromptona, więc wiem.
We can all agree it is a different bike indeed.
