- Come plant shopping with me at Wilko's. I'm showing you what I'm growing in February and my Wilko's Plant Haul afterwards. I will then take you out onto my balcony garden and show you how I am going to plant up my bare root lupins. I also have bare root aquilegia and bare root bleeding hearts. I will show you my process for creating a low maintenance bare root container garden.

I do like a plant bargain at Wilko. Sometimes the flower colours don't come out as it says on the packets though. Last year I bought pink begonias and when they flowered they were bright red!
True story - my card was stopped during a Wilkos spree. Called the bank and the lady said they assumed my card was stolen as the purchasing behaviour was “chaotic”. I did not call you to be roasted, ma’am.
The only fails I’ve had are bonsai seeds, but the bulbs and vegetable seeds are top of the line. I also love their clever pots, especially the ones that hang. The delivery service is so good for people who need compost but don’t drive, I can’t carry 50l of compost home on the bus! Wilko need to sponsor you asap.

@@CloudGardenerUK babe, just call it sea holly and be done with it haha. I was weak with laughter though. On the plus, they are absolutely stunning. Love all of your Wilko buys, some of my favourites and you will love the black aquilegia, they are stunning. Mum went to our local nursery last month and they gave her dozens of aquilegia, for next to nothing, so I ended up with loads too! Looking forward to them flowering, no idea what colours they are Xx

I subscribed to your channel for your garden expertise but stay for the laughs! You're so fun! Also, "filler-thriller-spiller" - what a clear easy way to think about planting a container. I am curious if you need to loosen up the compacted soil before adding more or if that would be too damaging for the roots.
Hi Kari! I would loosen up the top layer of the soil before adding your new layer.. that should help the nutrients flow down the container :)

Lupins are not only beautiful they are also Nitrogen fixers and great companions to feed your brassicas and fruiting trees

I love any reason to have to go to Wilko’s. Automatic reason to have to leave with *a* new plant/bulbs/seeds. Except we all know about the 3 for 2 offers and how 1 is therefore not possible.

So Funny. anyways i have tried Rubeckia the same make wilkos bare root and it didnt work for me to, so your not on your own hunn good luck this time. im off to wilkos in 10 mins after watching this im itching to get to the gardening isle. here i ome wilkos😋
