Fix Garageband Microphone Not Working - MacOS 10.14 or later

HERE'S THE FIX:
In Security & Privacy - Privacy Tab - Microphone - Enable microphone access for Garageband
You're probably about ready to snap and throw your mac off a cliff because the mic won't record even though ALL THE SETTINGS ARE RIGHT AND IT WORKED BEFORE!!!!!! Take a deep breath. It's going to be ok. MacOS started handling microphone permissions like they do in iOS. You have to go enable mic access in preferences. Why can't Garageband tell that it doesn't have mic access like it would in iOS? I HAVE NO IDEA - IT'S TOTALLY INSANE.
