He says a lot of great stuff, and I also wanted to go in ever since grade school, but some fukin recruiter told me I would be DQ'd bc of having some psychiatric therapy as a little kid which wasnt much and not very long, so I abandoned Seal plan just to find out I could've still enlisted for Navy and gone to BUDS, but I was already way past that in my 20's. FastForward almost a decade I enlisted 18x for Army SF just to realize I would've been better off going to Seals bc I didn't like the 'force multiplier' crap and other avenues of what green berets do, I didnt enlist to train other people or be a warrior diplomat, I wanted Direct Action. Bottom line here tho is I totally fucked everything up bc of bad information. So to all of you would-be Seals out there, SF, Rangers, Recon/Force Recon, Combat Controllers, PJ's, etc and all the other SOF's, just use due diligence and if you get an answer or bad info to something you're not liking or sitting well with, double and triple check its accuracy. Dont throw away a possible future just bc someone told you something that would wreck it and come to find out it was incorrect information. I still to this day get upset about it all. I always loved the water growing up and was constantly doing things in the water to challenge myself such as holding breathe, swimming underwater, similar stuff to the drown proofing drills, etc and even swimming pulling our boat in the lake with the rope just for the exercise and challenge doing it all on my own imagination come to find out its similar to seal training haa, and it was all fun. But my ultimate goal was CAG or DEVGRU and I firmly believe with no doubt I would've made it physically, only thing to stop would be a bad psych eval or incapacitating injury, BUT I'll never know now. Godspeed to all of you and your goals. And remember, NEVER QUIT, EMBRACE THE SUCK, STRENGTH IN NUMBERS meaning if someone else is still there making it threw the suck and the shit, so can you, and if you turn out to be the last one still there, well you've won. And at 8:40 exactly what he said, if the instructors could do it, so could he.
Trent Wright Exactly!!! Look at his other interviews. Every interviewer effectively "leaks" his real name by telling us that "Mark Owen" is a pseudonym. Maybe it would have flown twenty years ago, but not these days.
It's not always about top physical fitness and having best technology. In Vietnam the NVA and Vietcong were able to inflict 100 percent causality rate on special forces teams Mac v SOG. Vietcong were little men that wore sandals and ate a few spoonfuls of rice a day but was the most formidable enemy we have faced not including WW2 but all wars after. The Iraqis and Afghanistanis we're a bunch of goat farmers. I'm so thankful they weren't as tuff as the Vietcong.
Joe Barker it’s because Rob went through the proper military channels to get his book done. There is a vetting process they have to go through to make sure no training or tactical secrets are revealed. Mark (or should I say Matt) never put his book through that process. +SFAAPK7 None, they are just trying to control the dissemination of information. Owen did not get the book approved by the DOD before publishing it; that's the issue. It's just big government trying to crack down. The debate is ongoing whether or not he is correct or the DOD is correct. There are also some SEALs in the media ,Brandon Webb being one of them, who are against what Owen did. Although, personally I disagree with Webb on this topic. SOFREP is a great site for some more context on the issue, but it is a little biased against the author (Owen). Bottom line, it's about money. The DOD, who Owen worked for for over 15 years, I believe, is now trying to take away the profits he made off the book. I thought No Easy Day was a great read ,which had a candid account of his life and context of operations he was on prior to and after the Bin Laden raid. I also think he should be entitled to full royalties of the book and that the government has no business taking away his profits.

Scott Gadberry The operator you refer to as red died a couple years back in a parachuting accident, do a little research, there’s even an interview/letter from some of the seals on that opetation that say Red “will never ever speak.”
@Leelo Tungal Tbh that’s certainly possible. There’s really not much info on Shady out there and it’s quite strange that no one has talked about “Red” since everything came out, or Red himself has decided to speak out. Plus Shady was in Red Squadron with both Owen and O’Neill at the time. However I did read The Intercept article about DEVGRU’s atrocities and the Bin Laden Raid; Which was for the most part pretty accurate and on point, that stated that Red was still alive and active duty at the command. Mind you that article was written four years after Shady’s death in early 2017. By this point, I think the only people who really know are those who are/were on the inside, and I don’t think that’s gonna change any time soon.
USMCLP Yeah man you’re absolutely right, could be either or and we’re never probably going to find out what really went down. Sure wish we did though, do you believe O’Neills story or Bissonnettes?

First of all INDOC is the first phase so that’s actually the easiest part. The BUDS part is so hard mainly because they make you push pash what you think your limit is everyday so that pretty much wares down all your muscles. So that makes it harder and harder every single day to do the things they tell them to do. It’s pretty much like if one day you did 50 push-ups and you tore a muscles in your arm and then the next time you tried to do push ups you could only do 5. It’s because some of your muscles aren’t working anymore so that causes you to have less strength because one of the muscles required to do push-ups is injured. And then there’s the fact that they’re working out all day every single hour of the day instead of just going to the gym for like an hour or 2 and working your hardest. They do it all day and they are forced to put 100% in every minute. And then there’s also the fact that they have to do it all for a total of 7 months, so that basically means that instead of something like running 20 miles which would take a while, you’d pretty much have to run that 20 mile run but you’d have to do it like 15 a day and you’d have to do as many push-ups as you possibly could every hour of the day, and you’d have to do every other physical workout all day every day. But you can’t stop the next day or even at night when you go to bed, you go all day and then only get 2 hours of sleep. So at the end of the day all this shit you have to do will add up over time and your body will get weaker, but you can’t stop doing all this stuff for 7 months. You don’t get to stop after a week.

What lots of folks don't realize is you do not have to be a super human to get through BUD/S. I also think he should be entitled to full royalties of the book and that the government has no business taking away his profits.
Check out ”fearless” about Adam Brown
I have a friend that is friends with a ex Navy Seal and works on land communication towers or something and on a regular lhe works three days in a row without sleeping like nothing lol or used to, God bless in Jesus name amen
@Daniel Baugher your friend who knows a SEAL who went from the SEAL team to working on towers? Seems like a let down tbh
@@fastkarr8256 I’ve never met him that’s just what I was told , well maybe that’s he wants to do for a living ? Dunno 🤷♂️ lol
He survived?
Survived what?
All lies! Lucky Red still works and observes the code of silent professionals.
Scott Gadberry The operator you refer to as red died a couple years back in a parachuting accident, do a little research, there’s even an interview/letter from some of the seals on that opetation that say Red “will never ever speak.”
@Leelo Tungal Brett Shadle?
USMCLP Yeah buddy, Owen even describes Reds height in his book which matches Shadles.
FYI..... Mississippi is home training for Seal Team 6!!!
Mississippi is ONE of DEVGRU's training locales, but they are based in Dam Neck, VA and train all over the country and world.
Challenger6.1.......WRONG!
Robby Robinson Hell, i thought i had a long commute to work everyday. They go from Virginia to Mississippi to train? Either they don't train much, or the tax payers are paying one hell of a gas bill everyday. Ha! 😁
It’s Virginia
Wrong... just wrong ..
His voice sounds different from when he was interviewed years ago.
his voice
I find it very strange and highly suspicious that a good portion of the Seal team 6 is dead or is that fake News 2
Fake news...
Ok, i'm going to say it, Ive been watching from podcast 01 and the way the Wildnerness lady is treated by the head podcast guy is beyond rudeness. Every fcking time the guy cuts her up, doesn't let her word get in.
Yeah I've kind of noticed that also.
+Cody Trawick Cheers buddy, thank fully it changed down the line but it took aaages.
+Adrian Cline-Bailey Glad to hear it bud. She seemed too jammed up to even talk at times. Much respect.

They've still got to follow protocol
Wow you're smart. Are you an investigative journalist ?
That’s Robert O’Neil if you knew anything about him and his service
BUDS is the easiest part about being a team guy. I don't understand why civilians are so obsessed with it.
TANK SHERMAN because they are fat and lazy and DURR PUSHUPS R HARD
TANK SHERMAN it’s the biggest transformation. Going from a young dumb sailor to a harden warrior
What a fake
Shut up you little bitch
