However many if not most of the large scale secret operations you infer were government-run and the compartmentalization usually works well in those. Other things like spy rings can fail due to carelessness. Conspiracies are another matter as well. And gangs or the mafia? There's always a rat, don't think those organizations are foolproof.

This is a tired trope, whether then or now with DoD accounting. They didn't "lose" any money, they can't account for it. It's still where it was, it's still being spent on things that have paperwork, but each branch does their accounting different from the other and none of them follow industry standards, so it's a total shitshow. That's why the Pentagon always fails audits, because they don't format the paperwork all in the same way and they don't track it in an efficient manner. And it's not because of "black ops" or whatever, even regular routine things are not accounted well at the upper bureaucracy level.

A seal who was on the raid said this a while ago on twitter to combat Rob O'Neill lying about killing him. Apparently O'Neill (the fourth guy in the room) canoe'd Bin Laden once he was already dead (shot him 3 times in the head once at the top, once in the middle and once at the bottom splitting his head open). This annoyed a lot of the other seals o the raid as they had agreed before the raid to to shoot him in the head for identification purposes.

Yes as far as 9/11 is concerned, I had a message a week before it happened to get the churches to pray for Afghanistan. I didn't fully understand it but I had a very ominous feeling which got stronger during that week. On the morning of the day it happened I had to go home from work because I could not function, I felt so uneasy. I went home and slept and woke up to the news. I always knew it was real.
