Why couldn't sony do HDMI 2.0 for at least one of the ports for the soundbar so you can hook up 2 consoles or 1 gaming pc and a console. The builtin speakers for these flagship tvs do not match the price you pay for picture quality whatsoever.
Because that way, people which paid sometimes thousands of $ for high end receivers etc couldn't use their full functionality (HDMI 2.1 passthrough) and you would be stuck with 2 HDMI 2.1 unless you use some clunky switcher
You really need to compare the price difference between the A95l and the 2024 LG G series and S95 series since realistically thie A95l will be compared against those TVs.
Hello, the review compares Sony A95L with LG and Samsung but not with Panasonic MZ2000. Based on your review of Panasonic and my own experience from my current TV, Panasonic beats the LG and Samsung. So my question would be how do you see Panasonic versus Sony. Thanks.
Also, Does the A95L still have Sony's problem with talking to video cards, Nvideo specifically? My AMD 5570 does a Very good job up to 1440p, but is over-clocked. Not an OCing fan. Finally, I've fixed my dead Samsung 51F8500 Plasma. Lovely, organic pic, but ths model is notoriously unreliable (have 3, 1 resurrected, 2 dead). Q Audio Concept 300s instead of the L?
The title of "Best TV" should be completely contingent upon your specific use case, not to mention price. For sure, if you're a dark room pixel peeper content to watch mostly HDR movies, then this might be the "Best TV". And keep in mind that this is currently at least $1000 more expensive than the S95C or G3. If you watch a significant amount of sports, or game on your set, then there are certainly better options out there. Its an amusing social experiment to see reviewers jumping on the bandwagon proclaiming "Best TV" without addressing some significant limitations and price concerns.

The insecure coping and purchase justification of G3 and S95C owners going on in this comments section is pathetic. The G3 and S95C are great, no need for all this hating on the A95L, let people make their own value judgments.
@@etinosaoyemwense I didn’t say you are hating on the A95L, just that it is implied with all the comments about it being “very overpriced.” No need to resort to name calling.
Auto-Cal parameters can be changed, Phil. Sony recommends 2.2 if you’re going to use the same mode and their mapping for HDR10. Once you calibrate to 2.2, you can also change to 2.4 post-cal, and there is very minimal error introduced. I don’t see that aspect being an issue.
I just bought the Sony A95L 77inch for $4998 tac free, I justified the extra money because it has great sound vs the G3 and S95C so I won’t have to buy a sound bar, plus the better chip processor makes it worth it. I wouldn’t pay 6,000 pounds/Euros though. Geesh thats really overpriced
The fact there’s no stand with the G3 is quite off putting. Some of us don’t have the layout to wall hang a Tv and need to have it on a stand with enough clearance for a soundbar
Whilst the A95L is a great TV; the performance gap between it, the G3 and S95C is so minimal that there is simply no way it justifies the price premium Sony is charging. For example in the U.K. the G3 and S95C 77” are priced at £4,000 and the A95L is at £6,000. There is NO WAY the A95L is £2,000 worth of performance better than the G3 and S95C.
I’m in no way saying that the A95L is worth an extra £2,000 over the G3 but, unless you are seeing them side by side in person you should never just rely on side by side comparisons on RUclips videos. As things like RUclips compression , camera set up etc can distort the actual real life experience. By the way the G3 is a great tv awesome purchase decision.
